Homework Help

I figured I would start this :). I was offered a tutoring position at my university earlier as a Calculus/Chemistry tutor, so I wanted to stimulate it before I get my hands on.
I'm usually good at mathematics, and I'll try to answer as many as I can

Usually, I enter these forums in my mobile phone though, so answers could get a bit wonky.

This is more like a conundrum, but here we go:
You want to buy a hoodie that costs 97€. You borrow 50€ from your mother and 50€ from your father. 50+50=100. You buy the hoodie 100€-97€=3€. You give your father 1€ and your mother 1€ and keep 1€ yourself. You still owe both your parents 49€, so 49€+49€=98€, and then there's the 1€ you have, 98€+1€=99€. Where did that one euro go?

@MrGodard no answer? That's just a quadratic function. You want the derivative?
@kati77 you returned 2£ already, and1£ which you kept yourself.
100-2=£98 ; this is your debt.
Spent 97£ so, 98-97=1£. This 1£ is the £ you kept.

@katycat737 Tutoring is a lot of fun and really rewarding. I am the economics tutor at my university, my favorite part is when a student that has been struggling comes in with a test they got a really good grade on... I'm like a proud mama.
