A few more things I'd love to see:
-candles that you can actually light
-place mats for tables
-the little toilet carpets and toilet seat covers
-empty picture frames (both standing and wall ones) that we can put pictures that we take in

i love those art glass, they are beautiful! i once had one something like the blue one on your bottom shelf. i want to start a collection. where did you get yours?
i want pantry food like sims 2 and 3 have, rosted flakes, morton salt, even the frozen foods. air vents thermostats laundry detergent and stuff pretty much what sims 2 have, they had it all. this is why i still play it
Some of these duplicate what was already suggested, but here's some of my ideas:
Hanging Plants
Throw Pillows/Blankets
Flat Iron
Hairbrush/Comb
Bills Rack w/a place for hanging keys
Shovel/Rake/Hoe
Wheelbarrow
Stack of empty flower pots
Garden soil bags
Garden gloves
Fire Pit
Stack of logs
Fireplace poker/Screen
Match box
More Modern Tabletop clocks
Floor Magazine rack
Stack of Magazines
Toaster
Sandbox
Swingset
Game Console
Small vases, candy dish
Cedar chest
Baskets
Tacklebox, fishing poles, waders, fish net, lures, bobbers
Sofa size paintings
Player made in-game Paintings/Sim Portraits
Pad of paper/pens

Side of house water spigot
Soap dish
Ceiling Fan, tabletop fan
Crayons, markers, coloring books
Stuffed animals/dolls for beds
Child size tea set
Child size table & chairs
Toy Oven that works (ex. TS2)
More tabletop candles and wall sconces
Handbags, wallets
Teen mirror with pictures, concert tickets, etc. tucked in the frame, jewelery/scarfs hanging off it
Jewelery box
Jewelery clutter
Changing table
Diaper pail
Pile of Diapers
More baby mobiles
Bowl of Popcorn/Potato Chips/Nuts

I know it's off topic, but here, there and everywhere. It was my mission for some years to find it. I would love for collectibles in the game to be like that.
I would like to see decor/clutter objects designed by you, Steve.
Honestly.
I don't remember all posters on this forum, but judging the posts I've seen from you before, you're definetly a real fan. And IMO it's fans who's words should have the weight when it comes to game design, not some "passing by, killing time" people.
Drunk posting.
Wine not.
But seriously. Need "finest nectar" bottles decorating my shelves... Maybe some chocolate.
I personally would like to see light switches and radiators and wall sockets.
Light switches for sure!
I would also like to see stand-up fans (Working or not), toast (Why don't we have toasters?!), crayons, soda cans and yard equipment. (Rakes, shovels, etc.)
An actual closet where I can leave the door opened and closed and have many clothes and shoes, toys that I can put in there and grab. Possibly have interactions when you are a kid and be scared at night of the closet because of the boogie man.
I would like more items in general to make it look more homely as well as more colors being available the same throughout all the furnitures. Sometimes I like a furniture that does not have the color that matches my other furniture colors but the style is perfect.. not many colors of different furnitures and decorations match.
Really, I just want actual clutter to make it look like sims actually live in their houses. More kitchen jars, pencils and paper/notebooks, piles of sticky notes, sets of mugs for countertops, clipboards for surfaces or walls, more calendars, table stuff like salt/pepper and ketchup/mustard, bowls of snacks to place on coffee tables or for munching during dinner, candles, fireplace accessories, framed personal pictures (for tables too!), etc.
I love the windchime, light switch, closet (I neeeeeed the ones from TS2...Apartment Life? baaack!), and swing bench ideas! I never would've thought of those (though benches and closets aren't decor or clutter)
Clothes drying racks
Bed canopies/drapes in several styles to fit different beds
Blanket chests (or any type of storage such as this for collectibles)
Display cabinets for ANY and ALL collections (only elements and postcards have displays so far)
Fish tanks and terrariums, including narrow ones that fit on shelves/in walls, tabletop ones, corner ones and large commercial ones, as well as the traditional free-standing type.
Stacks of books that (ideally) work as bookshelves and clothes piles that (ideally) work as dressers.
Prints of photos taken with phone.
Miniatures painted on a tabletop easel that become free-standing/tabletop paintings.
Gift-shop type items from visiting/having successful outings to/participating in events at venues (posters/matchbooks/framed tee-shirts etc).
