Hey guys, I have a few little updates to Chateau Lyon, it's uploaded under the name "Chateau Lyon III" on the gallery. I know I have a bad habit of uploading multiple versions of houses, but as I play in them, I tend to find things I don't like and change them, and figure I might as well share those changes with you! Here's a couple pics of what I've updated:
New fountain out front:
Some architectural details added to the back:
Updated game room:
Updated upstairs study:
Laundry room with new laundry chute:
Updated art studio:
Updated bedroom (I didn't like the colors of the previous one)
Another updated bedroom:
And new posters in the theatre:
I was going to add things from the new movie hangout pack, but decided not to, just in case people without the pack wished to download it. It was really only replacing the theatre screen with the new projector screen and adding a popcorn maker to the snack bar, which you can easily do yourself if you own it!
So this is the end of this lot, I'm actually working on something very special which I think you'll all enjoy. It's another massive project and will take some time, but I'll post here when it's done!
The updates to your build are very nice! The home is so very grand and detailed! The colour schemes of the updated bedrooms look very nice. It is nice that there are a variety of fun games for sims to enjoy playing in the gaming room. The new movie posters look very nice on the in the very elegantly designed movie theatre! The upper balcony movie watching area looks so very nice!
I will look forward to seeing the new project that you are working on! Happy Simming, building and furnishing!
Ooh, another Chateau Lyon update, eh? But this looks better than the second one!
I especially love how you added a fountain out front and each of the rooms looks more wonderful too! The theater room looks gorgeous even without the stuff pack (which I haven't bought it yet, haha! ).
I faved in the gallery and even replacing to this version too!
The scale of this chateau is just mind blowing! You have a room for everything, and the ones in the basement are just unique! loving your colour schemes and all the small details in every room.
I have finished my latest project! It's the Biltmore Estate, based on the actual real-life Biltmore Estate in North Carolina, built by the ridiculously wealthy George Vanderbilt in 1895 as his summer home, and currently the largest privately-owned home in the United States. I have researched the floor plan and looked at countless pictures to make this re-creation as accurate as I possibly could, inside and out, modifying it as needed for space (it still wouldn't fit a 64x64 lot fully). This also means that there are no electronics, TVs, stereos, computers, etc., but you can of course add them if you'd like. There are some spots that aren't entirely accurate, and some rooms had to be moved elsewhere/left out, but I did my best. Overall there are 20 unique bedrooms (not including servant's rooms) with their own fireplace, 16 bathrooms, and many other various rooms and areas. Take a look!

And that's everything!
This truly was a massive undertaking, with the hardest part probably being the decoration of 20 different bedrooms, and trying to make each one unique and true to the original with the limited number of bedroom items and color schemes (especially beds, we REALLY need some new beds Maxis!) But I'm very happy with how it turned out! Look up pictures of the real thing and tell me how it compares if you want I recommend exploring at least the first floor in first person mode (press Tab in live mode) as there are many ceiling details.
The house is listed under "Biltmore Estate" in the gallery, under my username grod4L, and requires Get to Work, Get Together, Outdoor Retreat, Spa Day, Spooky Stuff, Perfect Patio Stuff, and Movie Hangout Stuff.
Which bedroom would you claim if this was your house? Let me know what you think!
Biltmore Estate is such a very grand and elegant build! It looks so very, very nice! It is so very, very detailed! The exterior of the build and the furnishing of the interior refiects the real life Biltmore Estate so very well! The colour schemes of the rooms and areas look very nice. Each of the bedrooms are so very nice! I wouldn't know which bedroom to choose as my own! The build would have involved many, many hours of Simming work! The home is so very, very nice! Thankyou very much for sharing it with the Simming community for our sims and ourselves to enjoy living in and exploring the home in our games!
WOW! Great to see you sharing your builds again! I love the chateau but my favourite has to be Biltmore Estate! Looks like the real building! Stunning interiors for both builds! Will be adding both of them to my favourites.
I AM IN AWE!!! Seriously, in awe. What you have created is nothing short of a masterpiece! I have actually been to the real Biltmore and I can tell you that this looks incredibly like the real on! It's one of my favorite places! I can't get over those ceiling details, so beautiful.....is this even the sims?? Haha amazing job. I seriously can't believe how beautiful it is, and how creative you must be to make TWENTY freaking bedrooms look completely different yet all still so beautiful. I can hardly make even ONE look nice! I bow down to your skills, you truly are a master! And I love the servants area, I am a huge fan of Downton Abbey and I can totally see myself playing a family with servants and having some serious servant drama! Fantastic job!
@sporkpatches Haha thank you! And I actually have just started watching that show so I definitely had it in mind when making the servant area. I'm actually thinking of making the house from that show next....who knows!
WOW! I tried once to recreate Biltmore Estate in TS4 but it seems you did it better! I also built it all in TS3 and because I too used the real pics and the floor plans to do it all properly I can say that you did spectacular job! Well done!!
Just wow the way you used Moo though has opened up ideas for my own buildings but Baltimore its amazing I have down loaded it and will be spending a few days roaming its halls for inspiration.
As someone who used to go to the Biltmore Estate as a kid, this is so amazingly accurate and beautiful that it brought back so many memories just by looking at these pictures!
I love love love this! Its perfect! I made a new victorian era game and I'm in the process of changing every lot to victorian (or as close as I can get) homes, and this will be perfect. My favorite bedroom has to be Mrs. Vanderbilt, l like the light/dark combo so its not too somber. And I also love the large semi-detached canopy over the bed. You do great work, I'll definitely be following you
@xMint Thank you! I'm so glad it reminds you of the real thing, that was my goal! It makes me very happy to hear that Hopefully I can visit there myself one day, it's a truly beautiful place
@VioletRed Thank you so much! That room was one of my favorites too, the real life version has some really cool colors in it! Thanks so much for following me!

@stormycurls Haha thank you, that's nice to hear!
@GaiaPuma Thank you! It took about a week and a half to build and decorate, working about 2-3 hours each day.
