    It annoys me that we can actually go to these areas with the camera, it completely ruins my immersion...

    EA did it to tease us about the open world we once had and will never see again :(

    A ton of premade world templates. Just like Sims 2 came with. Making your world was the best/easiest thing ever!

    I am laughing so hard...

    Anyway, perhaps it will be expanded when a late night-related expansion is released? The SimGurus did say that the worlds can be expanded in the future.

    @FluorescentSoap I love your idea for cul-de-sacs! I grew up as a child on a cul-de-sac. I would love to see that in the game!! :)

    :DD awesome, I live on one currently, although mine isn't the vibrant homely type of cul-de-sac seen on TV. It's more 'oh the neighbour is staring again' type. lol

    It would be so cool though.. and with bin men collecting the rubbish on the street [even if in real life they always wake me up]

    Things that I want:
    - More lots in the worlds/larger worlds
    - Basements
    - Optional Co-op mode
    - A new branch of interactions called "Play" or "Games" where they play together, like playing Tag, hand clapping or other physical games. Children playing with children could have unique ways to play together and children playing with young adults and up could have unique ways like riding on their back or shoulders. :) Hide and seek would be fun!
    - Locking doors again, I need that.
    - Being able to drink tap water.
    - Making ghosts more "ghost-like", they shouldn't function as similar to living sims.
    - Family Trees!

    Making the worlds fully open would make them the best possible they could be. If that's not technically possible then at the very least opening up each neighborhood section would make things a lot better. Also it would be great if we could modify (build/buy) on all the public space in each neighborhood.

    Fact is, that having to travel via loading screen to different lots and thus not being able to fully control every member of a household simultaneously on different lots limits gameplay a lot. The "away actions" are not enough as they hardly give us full control over exactly what we want out sims to be doing. Anything you can do to open up the worlds and minimize the effects of loading screens so that we can have larger and more activity full areas for out sims within one open space is what we really need.

    Oh! The ability to lock doors again, please. I hate when neighbors come by and just go all through the house. Please return this option as soon as possible. And give me some LIKES on this if you agree. For me, this is a non-negotiable.

    Ever wonder why people usually walk into houses, through unlocked doors, in sitcoms? Not a Seinfeld fan, eh? You want to keep Kramer locked out of the house. Hey, I don't blame you!!!

    Any new Worlds you make should simply have each Neighborhood map a little bit larger, so there is room for 8-10 lots or so instead of 4-5. If the main concern which caused such small maps is game performance issues, don't be so concerned with this. If these Worlds are released separately as DLC, figure out a new minimum or recommended spec for using these, as compared to the main game with the smaller maps, and simply post the spec when the Worlds are released.

    As far as I'm concerned, new World maps in an EP can be handled the same way. It's completely viable to have a higher recommended spec for an EP than BaseGame.

    While playing the sims, I decided to go into tab mode and explore the towns. Well I went a little further and explored every part of the town. And I came across this:

    This highly disappoints me. Just imagine how big the worlds could be if they made this actual space. I really wish they could expand the worlds in updates and stuff. But this is probably one of the biggest disappointments for me.

    Tell me about it! The worlds could be so much better if the Sims could actually use these areas!

    Bring back Open Worlds, PLEASE! No loading screens when you visit houses in same neighborhood, its very distracting. Sub-hoods, terrain tools, choice to edit worlds, cars, ability to swim in lakes/ocean. In fact I went back to Sims 3, cause I just got bored with TS4. I believe in you guys, though <3

    I now have a better grasp on how difficult it is for the Sims geniuses to do the things you casually ask for. The more burdened they make the Sims 4 program the more taxing on the computer.

    SO, YOU HAVE TO DECIDE

    DO YOU WANT THESE IMPROVEMENTS ENOUGH

    TO BUY A NEW, MORE POWERFUL, COMPUTER IN ORDER TO USE THEM?

    Now, that is the question!

    I would want the worlds to be bigger and the neighborhoods too. I would like to see more venues and places for sims to visit. I want places that have specific things that can be done on that lot; for example, Restaurants, stores like clothing, furniture that you can only purchase there, but maybe could be unlocked with a buydebug sort of cheat. Coffee shops and cafes. I really thought the downtown district and the bluewater village from the sims 2 was really well done and enjoyed those areas very much. I like the "public spaces" too, so maybe if they were bigger and editable. I really don't mind the closed world all that much, but I think if the world is closed the worlds should have been way bigger!!

    Couple of my ideas that would make the sims 4 even better to play!

    - More beds, I love the ones we have already but I think at least 5 different more would be extra cool. (With more bed sheet options.)

    - Being able to to lock doors.

    - Solar Panels for garden decoration and roof tops. (The ones from TS2 were great)

    - More fire places.

    - Different types of front doors.

    - Eye lashes! & more eye make up.

    - Fire pits for my garden.

    - Toddlers

    - Weather

    - Fashion - topshop, riverisland, zara styles!

    - More hair colours.

    - Bedroom stuff, wardrobes etc

    - More tattoo options

    - Kitchen - more types of fridges and counters!

    And finally... If you guys are reading, please please can we have more colour options on items.

    :):)

    Bring in seasons. Also bring in a story structure. Right now there are no real goals. I'd like to see a story structure brought in such as a new family moves into the neighbourhood and they have a secret and you have to find out who they are and what their secret is. Or a murder Who-Done-It event! Or something to give the game some story to drive it forward.

    I don't think making the game Open-World is possible anymore. It's something that's worked into the game's core system, if they could change it, it would probably break a BUNCH of things. If it's possible to make Neighborhoods open that would be awesome if we could just get that. It would be nice if worlds could be a bigger, like opening up the unplayable areas for us to make it 15-20 lots per neighborhood.

    Given the proper amount of time and resources you'd be shocked what they can add to the game. They've said from the beginning that this new game has a strong foundation that's capable of being everything players want. If they can't open up these worlds than that wouldn't be true, and believe me when a developer has to publicly come out and admit that they cannot achieve something that players really want, their game will tank. its essentially admitting you've failed at developing a product players have been asking for. Now this is the worst case scenario, for all we know removal of the loading screens is completely possible. Time will tell.

    Please make the worlds like Sims 3 on console. No loading screen between the lots of the same neighborhood.

    For future expansions I have some ideas on lots like: a huge beach themed neighborhood with just one lot, like Magnolia Blossom on Willow Creek, with activities like surf, swimming, mermaids, etc. basically a sims 4 version of Island Paradise.

    I would also like trailer houses, camping like Bon Voyage, a return of Egypt from World Adventures with big pyramids and items to found and collect etc, I really like these aspects of the game.

    Less decoration houses, bigger worlds and neighborhoods and some families back like Crumplebottoms, Newbies, etc

    Also non rabbit holes groceries stores. I really miss them

    For a Late Night expansion you could do a world like The Urbz, it was amazing.

    Off: PLEASE BRING BACK WEIRD OBJECTS FROM SIMS 1/2 ON CONSOLE! They was amazing!

    I really LOVE to create worlds in TS3 and I REALLY want to create worlds in TS4! :D

    Features I would like:
    • Create new WORLDS (not only neighborhoods);
    • Many premade maps for users (relief, terrain painting, and roads ready, such as TS2) but powerful options for advanced users;
    • Edit terrain (like CaW);
    • Import and export heightmap (like Caw);
    • Manipulate layers of terrain painting (like CaW);
    • Import terrain painting map (like CaW);
    • Add lots of any sizes (like CaW);
    • Positioning objects and effects on the axes X, Y and Z (Like CaW);
    • Import new colors and types of roads and sidewalk (like CaW);
    • Placement roads and sidewalk;
    • Placement ponds and rivers;
    • Define color sky and water;
    • Define time to sunset and sunrise;
    • Populating worlds and export it with Sims;
    • Create hidden neighborhoods;
    • Increase and decrease the size of objects such as Build Mode (but we could do it more accurately);
    • Customize world's icon.
    • Create easily the world's map (image below).

    I would really like some type of story progression back. I would want other sims to at least marry and have children and get promotions and just, you know, advance in life.

    Other important features to improve the experience in Build Mode:
    • Add at least the presets white, black, light brown and dark brown for ALL recolorable items;
    • Add presets red, orange, grey, dark blue , light blue, dark green, light green, purple, yellow, brown, and pink for all beds, sofas, chairs, tables and other recolorable upholstered items;
    • Keep ceiling even if a roof is put on the upstairs floor;
    • More colors for floors and wallpapers.
    • Improve internal lighting; Currently I need put THOUSAND lamps to have some lighting inside the house!

    That's what I can remember for now.

    I have read every single post up to this point. I liked many, laughed at a few, and ignored others. I wanted to agree with several and see if I could add some new ideas that would be new. Obviously the ones I liked, I agreed with(mostly) so I'll try not to repeat too many of them, except ones I feel strongly about.

    Some that I have already seen:
    -Open worlds - we have a lot of options, starting with neighborhoods and then the entire town depending on pc speeds (I know you guys can do it, there are options and you guys have the talent)
    -Story Progression - No point in having neighbors without it. Doesn't seem to have any depth with neighbors without it.
    -More Venue types- Important, and yes it does get booring with the lack of even basic amenities of a town (gyms,bars, libraries, parks and museums) while a couple are fun they are quickly overused as the only source of entertainment outside of your neighborhood.
    -I saw someone mention the piano size, I agree very much with this.
    -Please at least have a vehicle pick up our sims, not disappear into thin air. That is so weird and I just don't like it at all, at all.
    -Locked Doors and or Door Assignment!
    -Weather, not necessarily Seasons(soon though as an EP) but rain and storms would bring so so so so much more to this drab environment as per Town Theme

    Some new concepts of lively worlds:
    -Neighborhood events like cook offs and yard sales(maybe special items or the collectables and gardening stuff)
    -Themed Town Events - While some towns might be desert and others mid-western some events could be specific to that theme. This could be like the Midwestern Gardening festival, or Desert Themed Jewelry/crafting Shows for your crafts and collectibles etc..
    -Sports Venue where actual sporting events can take place for your kids, like in a park, or some involved sports
    -Neighborhood contests, for best garden, fishing events or be able to manage/create Home Owners Association.
    -Join volunteer groups for kids and teens for Neighborhood or Town things like Community Services. You could even have them walking around the town picking up trash and stuff or promoting museums and the arts or other events or even Neighborhood Watch Programs with flashlights

    Ok, I might be back to add a little more later.

    1. Give control of the game back to players.

    - I'd like to go into manage worlds and build/modify lots without having to make a Sim first.
    - I'd like to create venues the way I want to without having to adhere to a list of required objects.
    - I'd like be able to use ALL objects in build/buy mode without having to earn them first in a career.
    - Make CAS not so gender-biased. Allow me to make my Sims with all the hairstyles, clothing, make-up, etc. available for either male or female. Plus, I know you can turn it off and choose whatever you want anyway, but don't make certain clothing types only available for 'party' 'athletic' or 'formal.' If I want my Sim to wear a bathrobe to a party, it should be my choice automatically without having to click off a filter.
    - Give us the option to keep a certain hairstyle or make-up across all categories too. It's a hassle having to remember what I chose previously and re-apply make-up back on my Sim in the formal, sleep and athletic categories just because Maxis thinks my Sims shouldn't wear it.
    - Let me be able to choose and place my own blank lots and their sizes in neighborhoods.
    - I don't mind the loading screens so much. My experience comes from a TS2 point of view, so TS4 seems more 'open' to me anyway. But I can understand why others would want no loading screens to visit neighbors. It just makes sense.
    - Sims knocking when they visit is okay, but it would be better if there was a PIP that showed the visiting Sim at the door. The way the sound is set up, if my Sim isn't near the door, she/he won't hear them knocking, or even a doorbell for that matter if one were added.

    2. Improve/expand build/buy mode.

    - All objects should come in a set of standard colors. For example, furniture 'frames' should be available in black, brown, light brown, white, gray, silver and gold with cushions, bedding, lampshades, etc. offered as a separate choice in a standard set of colors/patterns too. AND they should all be interchangeable. There's too many objects that don't match or are only available in limited colors. We need more sets that match. I guess I would just like to see more objects in more colors that match each other.
    - I'd like half walls, some that are wider on top so we can place objects on them. Plus 'foundations' we can place inside properties to create stages, sunken livingrooms, etc.
    - Make more objects placeable on shelves, and allow objects to be placed on tops of cupboards and refrigerators. Also, I miss being able to place outside lights on fence posts and the top of stair railings.
    - I'd like more and varied carpet options.
    - I'd like more variety in the types of stairs (spiral, L-shaped, etc.), fences and railings.
    - Curved walls
    - Columns that automatically adjust their size according to wall heights, just like the stairs adjust depending on where you place them.
    - Auto roof option.
    - Independent foundations, not the same for every structure on the lot.
    - Move Objects On cheat
    - The ability to place and remove one floor tile at a time without having to surround it with walls first. I'd like the option to delete wallpaper without having to replace it with something else too.
    - More terrain tools, such as the ability to create hills and ponds with bridges over them or objects IN them. I used to love creating a pond with a bridge over it leading to a little oasis in the middle with a tree, flowers and a bench, etc.
    - Make all lights work the same. I think it's just silly making the 'lower priced' lamps/lights not light as well as 'higher' priced ones. This goes back to the 'give control back to the players.' A lot of things are too restricting because y'all wanted things to be more 'challenging' for players. I feel like my hands are tied a lot more than in previous editions.
    - Let me adjust the intensity and color of lights in build mode. As of now, can only do this in live mode.
    - Let me take screenshots using the tab key in build mode and be able to change the time of day as well in build mode. For example, I can't take a screenshot of my Sims homes at night in build mode. The only way I've found to do this is to go into live mode and zoom ahead to night, then hit tab and take the picture. Plus, if I'm in manage worlds doing a build, I have to get out and go get my Sim to do it.
    - Bring back dishwashers, landline phones, smaller telescopes, trash compactors, nannies, school buses, taxis, locking doors, burglers and cars.
    - I'd love the ability to build all the way to the edge of my lot if I so desire. Some things do, like terrain tools, but not fences, tiles, walls, etc.
    - Fix the camera bob when we're on the second/third floor and zoom in close. As it is now, it jumps down to ground level. So frustrating when I want to zoom in to see an area I want to modify or take a picture.

    3. Miscellaneous (but just as important!)

    - Restaurants (most important), coffee shops, jewelry stores, clothing stores, grocery stores, etc. Basically, more venues than what we have now. I really miss having separate 'worlds' like Nightlife or Bluewater Village in TS2. I know we have gyms, libraries, bars, parks, etc., but I'd like more for my Sims to do than hang out in a bar, workout, sit in a boring library or play chess, fish and/or talk to a hoard of nosy Sims in parks. Plus, bring back NPCs for these places such as a dedicated bartender, servers, baristas, store clerks, etc. Or better yet, I'd LOVE an OFB EP in the future! ;)
    - Sprinklers, Greenhouses and more variety in planting boxes for gardens. Plus, the option to pick flowers and put them in vases to display in my Sims homes. Would be fabulous if my Sims could actually eat the fruit/veggies too without having to use them just in recipes. I'd love to have a juicer again too! :)
    - Fix whatever is causing my Sims to be dark inside their homes. Doesn't matter how many lights I have inside, my Sims are ALWAYS dark and their skin looks sickly inside. The minute they step outside, they're back to normal.
    - Give me back the ability to put photos in a 'paintings' folder so when my Sims get to a certain level they can 'paint' them. I LOVED how in TS2 my Sims could also paint other Sims or anything in a 'frame' we selected in game once they got to a certain level too.
    - More romantic actions. I miss the slow dancing, better make-outs on the couch, 'foreplay' in the bedroom and holding hands, even while walking would be great! I miss my Sims being able to play footsie, steal food off each other's plates, blow kisses to each other, feed each other, etc. while sitting down for a meal. I miss the table proposals too and more places to woo hoo. Loved it when they could woo hoo in the photo booth, changing rooms, cars and hot tubs. If we do get hot-tubs with the pools, I hope we can do ALL the romantic actions we could in the past.

    I could add more, but I think that's enough for now. o.O Sorry, I know it's a long list. Please, don't get me wrong, I love TS4 and am enjoying playing it, these are just things that would make the experience MUCH better for me... since you asked. Thank you! :)

    I would like the option to visit nabours/friends again!
    I haven´t been able to knock on doors since the first 2 weeks after the release.

    Would like to see more lots on the maps. The worlds are to small, I would like to be able to have more houses.

    And I know there is no Story progression (would love that). But fix it so that towns don´t die.
    I have ageing enabled. And I have clicked the box to fill empty houses. But still all the houses are empty.

    So more lots to build on. Ability to visit houses. And more community lots, so we get less borred.

    I've seen some really great ideas from everyone! On Saturdays and Sundays, in the city where I live, they have sort of market with food stands and home-made goods, food, and just little shops. I think that would be a neat idea to add. It would be cool if our sims could sell collectibles and maybe an incentive of doing so would bring more money for them and maybe unlocking something. It would be cool if our sims could purchase things as well.

    Even though I'm having a good time playing, still I find myself wanting more places and things for my sims to do in the neighborhoods and worlds. I'm happy that we have the ability to travel between worlds, even though they are so small. That was something I always wished we could do in the sims 3 without losing all relationships and whatever else we lost. Maybe with each expansion pack or DLC a new world could be added so we don't have to delete pre-existing lots to enjoy whatever venue or stuff that expansion or DLC bring. Or the existing worlds could be changed to have more lots available. I really miss being able to add our own, and I miss the 64x64 lot size as well. Over all, I love the ideas everyone has been saying about and it's getting me excited for future content.
