Tell us the features you most want to change your World. We have ideas, we have things a spinnin’, but we want to hear from you first hand. What can we do to help you make your The Sims 4 Worlds the best ever?
Make them open like in Sims 3. I know you can't but that's the only way that could make me buy this game. :p

IMHO, the public spaces some neighborhoods within the worlds have make the world feel more open and lively than TS3 did. If anyone has ever placed a lot on the strip with the tram (the same street as Bella Goth), I think you'd agree that having lots of public spaces in one spot is sweet.

If the developers do more with these public spaces such as have food carts, coffee stands, lemonade/dessert stands run by kids like in TS2/TS3, candy stands, forms of entertainment, and other attractions, that'd be pretty awesome.

Ideally I'd like the ability to use all the colors available for every object in Build/Buy so that I can satisfy my OCD for everything to match exactly.

I also would love the neighborhoods opened so there's no loading screens just to visit a neighbor.

    More styles for Build Mode.

More lots, & more variety in lot size.

Additional types of venues - restaurants, theaters, & I miss consignment shops.

The ability to turn off the culling.

The ability to turn off the notification wall completely.

The ability to modify the size/opacity of the panels in the lower right.

Thank you so much for starting this thread, & for listening. :)

    - move sims out of their home: give the possibility (as in the sims 2) to open a business. Bakery to sell my sim's breads; art gallery to expose and sells my paints, restaurants; art tattoo shops, fruit sellers (with the products of my sim's garden). Personally I'd like to have the possibility to open a tea bar and serve cakes and muffins (obviuosly cooked by my sims).
    This ^^ pls

    Two words: WORLD EDITOR! :D

I'd prefer for the world editor to be in game, but if that's not possible then an external tool would be fine. You should be able to edit public spaces, raise and lower terrain, paint terrain, move existing lots, change the backdrop and edit the light, water and sky.

Also, if it's possible, there should be an option to edit the world map, add new lots, and perhaps even add new zones or even create whole new worlds.

If custom worlds are possible, it should also be possible to share them through the gallery, along with the lots and Sims that are already in them.

Every possible thing on this list:

    http://ts4truth.tumblr.com/

But in all matter of seriousness, the things that I would like are:

Open World (I know, not possible an expanded semi closed world would be nice)

    A world creator

A big city based off of LA (Los Aniegos from ts3 was an amazing and beautiful world)

    Restaurants

    Much bigger worlds

    Cars

    Bikes

    Terrain Editing

    Bigger lots (60x60)

It looks like you had much problems with Sims 3 or you wouldn't say that. How can a world be more open than in Sims 3 where you could drive from one edge to the other without loading screens? Also I see Sims everywhere in Sims 3, even in the most remote places.

    1. The worlds must be more open. A loading screen every time we leave home is just not cool in 2014. I can't send one sim to the gym and another to the park then click back and forth between them. It's so limiting to family play.
    2. Actual work places would be good. My sim doesn't go to work. He just sort of disappears off screen. Again this is 2014 and not a casual game built for phones and tablets. Walking off into no where just doesn't sit well. When we had rabbitholes, we could at least interact with the building (take classes or get shots or sue the paparazzi or whatever).
    3. Can we tone down the Thomas Kinkade graphics style just a bit? I don't need gritty reality but these worlds don't look like real places at all.
    4. The worlds are teeny tiny. 5 little lots here. 5 little lots there. I want my sims to explore where they live. They can't do that in this game.
    5. I know that this is the base game but there is not a thing to do in this world. There is a museum, a nightclub, a gym and a park. I'm bored in less than an hour.

I'm always so scared of posting a comment on the forum but this thread is something I was really looking forward as it allows me to express my thoughts about TS4 (which I love but there are still some annoyances that I'd like to see fixed, hopefully). I won't be very original as probably most (or even all) of them have already been mentioned but I need to list them anyway.<br />
    <br />
♦ Loading screens within the same neighbourhood are really annoying after some time. I appreciate the fact that more Sims appear on the lot but I really can't stand those loading screens when I want to just visit a Sim that lives next door. So I'd love to see open neighbourhoods - that would be a perfect solution (at least for me). I remember SimGuruGrant saying that it is unlikely to change but "unlikely" doesn't mean "impossible", right? :-P<br />
    <br />
♦ I also hope that we will be given worlds with varied themes, inspired by different parts of our world. Willow Creek and Oasis Springs are a perfect start.<br />
    <br />
♦ I'm not sure if this suggestion is right for this thread but... cars really should be brought back. I wouldn't mind them disappearing at the edge of the neighbourhood - just the possibility of having them, getting in and out (with the animations from TS2), having a driveway, seeing a Sim getting on the school bus or a carpool etc would be amazing.<br />
    <br />
♦ I'd like to be able to edit the public space.<br />
    <br />
♦ More varied community lots that provide more activities would be awesim too. ;-)<br />
    <br />
There are also many great ideas posted by other Simmers and gosh... I really hope it will be possible to introduce at least some of them in the game!

    dont be scared :(

There is a reason why there is no open world. it fixed a lot of issues. i like it this way. No open world please. Playable career like in sims 1 would be great. I miss the fashion model one. Owning a business. controllable pets.

For me what I would like is one of these two options.

    1. Make it so that once a lot is loaded once it remains loaded for as long as you are in that neighborhood.
    2. Always load all lots in the currently active neighborhood.

Why? Because I get that open world is not an option, however, right now going through two loading screens if you wish to quickly drop by your neighbors house and then get back (for example to rummage through their trash) is extremely annoying and only causes me to play on a single lot most of the time and ignore most reasons to leave a lot.

As they are now I find the concept of neighborhoods extremely redundant all they are is glorified window dressing with collectibles. We could just as easily have only the world view and use special lots like the Glade, the Grotto or the Park that could be accessed directly through the world view for collectibles the so called "public spaces" between the residential lots that make up a neighborhood are extremely dull at the very least there should be a way to customize them. But at the end of the day the biggest problem right now is that socializing with your neighbor is repetitive and restricting since you can't easily visit them and hop back and forth between their and your home lot.

    1. Larger lots
    2. More lots
    3. Create-A-Style and/or Color Wheel
    4. Editable Community lots
    5. Shopable stores (book stores, grocery stores, etc)
    6. Restaurants the sims can go into, order food and eat the food they've ordered
    7. More of an open world. The worlds are way too small
    8. I HATE having to hunt for things to complete collections!!
    9. Firemen! We need them to put out fires and for a career
    10. Ability to do something with the flowers we are growing
    11. Ability to do something with the gems, crystals and metals we are collecting.

Well, I'll just shoutout what SimCity players have been shouting before in this game too: bigger maps

    :P
on a serious note, I don't have many ideas yet but I'll start off with the ones I wished were applied in TS3

    - populated areas: see those boring NPC's in games like GTA & Watchdogs? we need some presence of Sims like that (the presence and not the the boring nature btw XD) not only inside the community lot, but outside as well at any given time or at least most of the time.

    - upgradeable items: sometimes I want that particular bed to use but I want more comfort out of it without having to buy that top-of-the-line double bed just for comforts sake. let us spend more § to upgrade our items to work better.

more in-game tools & tweaks: something like, number of Sims/Pets/Vehicles present, toggle cc on/off, refresh folder/directories etc

Well I would like a tropical world like Sunlit Tides with several beaches and large waves. Now I'd also like to see a new lot beach added. Also I love waterfalls and would like one like Stoney Falls in Ts3 our sims could go close to.

I'd love beach themed houses and community lots and lot of Palm trees. A boardwalk would be nice for the main beach with shops.

The worlds NEED more Public Space. Most of the mini-worlds don't have enough.

The community worlds and the world with the tram, have a good amount. But then the rest have almost none. All mini-worlds should have a small park, community garden, fishing spots and BBQ area's like in the mini world with the tram.

I moved my Sims to one of the worlds in Oasis Springs and found there was barely any Public Space at all.

That's my only major issue. The smaller worlds I'm fine with, although it would be awesome to make our own with no size limit (I understand loading screens would still occur house to house).

Now some essentials to make this game better would be hot tubs, swimming in the ocean, restaurants open ones with wait staff and hostesses,an open movie theater, bowling alleys and skating rinks

Also we need carnivals with rides, games and food a obviously we need the slow dance to return.

    Great to see you asking!!!

    Better dancing

Smoother panning controls when panning around an object. When I drag the mouse wheel I have very smooth view movement that I can make very slow. However, when panning around an object I can't control the speed of the panning as smoothly. It's either too fast or too shaky and not smooth enough. You hold down the mouse wheel and get very wonderful smooth panning where you can smoothly change speed of the movement. If you can make it so that the right-click works the same when it comes to panning around an object, hold down, move a tiny bit and it pans automatically very slowly and smoothly unless you move the mouse on the pad more then it pans around the object faster.

And do your best to fix the clipping problem

Check my Sims Space Crazy Mansion video linked in my sig to see what I am talking about. Notice how smoothly and professionally I can follow the track of the character from the front door of the mansion all the way into the dining room area.

    However,

the single most money making thing you can do is create an expansion pack that allows us to make our Sims 4 characters speak whatever dialogue we want, like the now defunct and out of business Xtranormal program

    http://successwithintent.blogspot.com/2014/10/scotties-gripe.html

I feel you have the most difficult part of the Xtranormal experience in place. It shouldn't be that much more difficult to make it so that we can make our Sims characters say whatever we may want

Another thing the game is missing is holiday stuff. Currently we have no decor or lighting for Halloween or Christmas. It would be nice if we could at least get a christmas tree and wreath in November or December.

Mainly, more options, this is supposed to be a sandbox game where we have the freedom to make changes to our worlds to suit each of our own taste. I want to be able to make my neighborhoods and worlds mine by having the options to decorate the public spaces and place/move lots anywhere I want. Below is a list of things I would like to see added.

Cut down on the loading screens by making each neighborhood open and just have loading screens when traveling to another neighborhood or world.

More lots in each neighborhood, 5 lots per neighborhood is just not enough, 10-15 lots per neighborhood would be better so we can have a combination of homes and maybe a corner store or fast food place in the neighborhood (and it would be big enough to drive a car or ride a bike in)

Bigger lot sizes like 60X60 and 64X64

The ability to delete and place lots like in previous games so we can re-arrange the lots how we like them.

The ability to rotate whole lots and not just the houses.

A terrain editing tool and the ability to edit the public spaces to match our own tastes (I can't wait to delete all of those pink trees)

Some kind of create a world tool so we can create our own worlds or even neighborhoods to add to existing worlds.

Perhaps add in some blank worlds (like the ones in TS2) that we can decorate and add lots wherever we want them.

Add some rural/country neighborhoods to the worlds

Put an extra neighborhood in each world for a sort of center of town/shopping district , with a restaurant, grocery store, clothes store, hospital town hall and school.

Town events; like chess tournaments or a town events idk anything to make my sim leave the house to do something fun.

More secret dungeons! also, making them like tombs from WA from sims 3 would be awesome! It would be so fun exploring a mystic forest/abandoned mines instead of just answering questions when you enter a secret dungeon and only having one area to explore.

Better things for story progression would help.

    Moviemakercheats bought back.

    Moveobjects on bought back.

The ability to set new relationship ties in CAS like girl/boyfriend and best friends.

The ability to adjust need and relationship sliders with testingcheats like we could in TS2 and TS3.

    Camping with tents,ghost stories,firepits,sleeping bags,hammocks and RV's.

Sports activities like play catch with baseball and football, basketball, soccer, beach and pool volleyball etc.

And with pools coming soon I hope to see pool waterfalls, pool bars, pool parties, pool slides with waterfalls and diving boards.

Also I miss the dance clubs we had in Sims 3 Late Night with the dance floor and gobe lights. I want to see TS3 style dances return were sims face each other and the late night dances including dancing on the counter and table tops.

In addition I would love to see the prom return,bachelor/hen parties and sims inviting ours to their parties.

Important for story telling I'd like to see the TS3 cuddle on sofa and bed return. Snuggling is ok but they don't stay that way but a few seconds. I want my sims to cuddle on the sofa and watch a movie together. Also the in bed romantic interactions like cuddle, kiss and makeout not just while sitting on the bed but in the bed as well.

Also if you can please fix the kiss interactions as their way off. When sims kiss on the sofa thier lips don't touch though for some townies they can but for cas sims they rarely do. Also the first kiss is off as well.

Also I'd like to see the peck lips kiss and jump in arms you get when you ask a sim to marry you at anytime not just when you propose engagement and the other sim does that to yours.

Bigger worlds are a must with this game, but with them the lot to lot loading screen needs to be removed. It does not fit at all, neighborhood to neighborhood loading is fine, but once a neighborhood is loaded you should be able to roam freely without hitting a loading screen. We've seen it in The Sims 3, and it's definitely a huge step down in terms of gameplay.

If the lot to lot loading is something that cannot be eliminated than really you guys should just start over on The Sims 5. Certain aspects of gameplay cannot function at their best potential with the way the game is setup, primarily community lots. If they are all in a specific neighborhood it's beyond annoying that my sim can't just walk next door but instead I have to sit through a short loading screen. Which is a bigger deal than the producers believe.

Other things that would improve the way neighborhoods work would be to expand how many lots are included (and what sizes) in them, as well as cutting down on the deco objects used. It's shocking how big the neighborhoods are currently, but only a teeny tiny part is playable. These suggestions might not be "performance friendly" but you can't make a great game with the focus on low end machines at every step.
