Oh didn't know this thread was up. Thanks Gurus for asking.

I really like the idea of simply moving to town to town without any problem losing anything. And thats a really great Plus for me so this must be still the core of the new system.

So i want at least bigger neighbourhoods, with more free lots or at least the option to edit more lots in it, maybe something similar we did have from Sims 3, the Town Editor is amazing from Sims 3 and CAW but well i can wait for it. Or even the Town Editor from Sims 2. So that we can build our own neighbourhood. Ah also editing the decorations of the Neighbourhood, i liked to add Town Shields and stuff.

    Sims 2 for example

    3rbdx9s7.jpg

    Sims 3 for example

    xSBFneE.jpg

And maybe open the world more maybe so that we don't need to load every house in the neighbourhood if this is possible. So that we only need to load the zone we are want to go.
And add some more places to uncover maybe, its fun to find hidden parts of the world too.

I hope you understand what i mean. Thanks for your good work :)

open world and story progression - full on TS3 story progression. It would be so cool that when I move out siblings and can't play in all of them at once that they continue on, get married and have babies!

Toddlers, Toddlers and Toddlers!! Also Bunk Beds, Dishwashers, Cars and some better interactions with the babies! You can't even hold the baby and sit down with it! It's more like an object!!

First and foremost, I need the ability to custom color clothing, hair, items, building materials. Most of the colors in this game I find garish and offensive or just plain boring.

Better cheat controls. I prefer the ability to use sliders, especially when killing off a Sim. In S3 I used to use what I called "the fickle finger of fate" to quickly kill off a sim by sliding hunger and energy bars to zero. Now I have to lock a Sim up in a room for days in order to kill them off, and I have to stay in the game in order for them to stay in the barricaded room. I closed down a game the other day cause real life intervened, and when I logged back into the game, the sim I was trying to kill was out of her sealed in room and went into the kitchen and ate before I could stop her. I lost two whole Sim days of starvation and had to go through it again. It just seems so cruel.

    Larger lots.

    Open world.

An actual town with libraries, city hall, bookstores, grocery stores, graveyard, schools, etc. I didn't mind the rabbit holes. They were preferable to not having anything.

    > 2. Second, I think that if you make it so that we can go next door (or elsewhere in the immediate neighborhood) without a loading screen, that means we'll have a longer loading screen when we come back from the park or other community lots, so I'm not pushing for that.
    > 3. I'd like to have a CAW tool, but if not that, then the ability to edit the public spaces and to add empty lots. Templates, such as we got with TS2, would be nice, especially if they could be accessible in-game, the way that Oasis Springs and Willow Creek are to each other. If you do that, I'd like it to be possible to control the populations of the new towns. If we got templates, I, personally, could live without the CAW tool, but I know that others want it.
    > 4. I would like to see more of the sims that are living in the houses in my towns and less of the homeless townies. In fact, if you could make it so that only sims actually living in a house would show up on community lots, except for the gardeners and bartenders, that would be great. With all the sims in the Gallery, I don't think it's necessary for the game to generate them, too.
    > 5. I'd like to be able to make a community lot age-specific, so I could have a hang-out for teens and a senior center.
    > 6. I'm assuming that we will get more worlds with new expansion packs and perhaps as DLC. I would love to get worlds from different time periods and places, but if that happens, I would like to be able to block visitors from other worlds, i.e., I wouldn't want modern sims from Oasis Springs showing up in my Victorian London.

I everything you said is very practical, and would like to have those things too.

As long as I still have the option to "only age sims by household", I'm open to most anything. Just please don't remove that option when coming up with your new ideas for worlds.

Ah yes i need to say this too i want Open World back in the future, i want improved open World very much.
My Pc is for all kinds of Games ready to play it with Ultra settings for at least @1920x1080 so Full HD, i honestly think Sims should stay with the open world way. Sorry to say this but this are my honest thoughts about it. Its sad but i hope you Gurus are also feeling that people loves open World for the Sims that much they bought hundreds of Items and many Worlds/Towns for Sims 3 from the Store and all EPs and SPs, because this have so much potential only because of Open World, adding life in the world of the Sims (and still doing so).
I wanted an improved Sims 3 Open World, without any major Bugs and wrong routing Sims that brought many player to insanity (me not though).
This is of course only for the future a thought, i have spent so much money in this Franchise since Sims 1 and get with Sims 4 a Stepback in the World Design.
Thanks again for listening to us!

I personally don't want a completely open world, because for me it was annoying how long it took the sims to go from one place to the other in Sims 3. My loading times now are quite short, shorter than my sims needed to get from one place to another on the other side of the world map in Sims 3.
That being said, I would very much like a half open world, where at least the neighbourhood (meaning those 4-5 lots plus community garden) would be open and loading screen free (including visiting the immediate neighbours).
I would also like a "grouping" of certain community lots (boutique, café, stylist, restaurant for example, or movie theatre + restaurant, or/and public pool + play ground/park, or/and museum + theatre + café), so they should be individual lots, still it should be open enough to do a nice family trip or going on a date, meeting friends with different activities without having loading screens in between those (and without having a huge all-in-one place where everything is in the same building.

Create-a-Neighbourhood tool would be cool, but for ME personally not that important.

To start, I would like to say I love The Sims games. I have been playing since the very first one was released in stores. There are definitely things about The Sims 4 that I love & things that I really would like to see. I'm sure someone before me has probably mentioned them by now or there are those who will certainly disagree but I wanted to throw this out there:

First 2 Things I Love in The Sims 4:

    1. The Smaller Neighborhoods
    2. The New CAS & Build System

Recommendations & Things I'd Like To See In The Game:

    1. While I do love the smaller neighborhoods (the old ones were always too large & used resources unnecessarily for my play style), I do think it would be a great idea to make neighborhoods dynamic. By this I mean keep the small neighborhoods as your starting point BUT add a function into the game to buy & place either individual lots or groups of lots to the map to enable those who want larger neighborhoods/want to design their own neighborhoods to make them as they want them or as big as their PC can handle while at the same time allowing those (like me) who prefer the small neighborhoods to keep them that way.

    2. Custom Color Palettes & Patterns in CAS & Objects!! I would love to see the mechanism from The Sims 3 return in The Sims 4 that allowed us to create our own custom colors & patterns for clothing, objects, etc... I understand The Sims 4's foundation is new but if there is a way to introduce such a system into it that'd be great! I miss this very much especially when trying to decorate a home or choose outfits for my sims!!

    3. More venues, worlds, seasons, toddlers, & pets! I think enough people have commented on these topics that I don't need to elaborate.

The most important & last thing I'd really like to see honestly is just quality of playing the game improvements. Not stating anything really specific but just making sure the game is fully stable without a lot of client side adjusting or mods to make it that way. Thank you!

I second the bathroom privacy thing. I recall a bug I documented in the Sims 1 before House Party came out - I manually created a toilet stall by having a toilet, one square in front of it so the door could be placed and two Sims tried to use that toilet. They both died of starvation because neither Sim could then go anywhere, but I had a third Sim plead with the Grim Reaper for the life of one of them. Especially on community lots, let's bring back the community style closed toilet stall that other sims won't walk in on. That or give us the option to lock doors.

I also second the more worlds and themed worlds with different venues. The telescope and microscope are so big they could be both put on one science lab venue. (A chemistry set might be a future improvement for the science lab venue.) Also, the same set of venues in each world is boring. I do like the idea of a downtown world where most of the lots were venues.

I happen to like mini games, but they should not be set up in such a way that they have to be played to advance in the game. They should be more like a semi-hidden feature, sort of like an Easter Egg where you have to explore to find them. In Sims 3 World Adventures I did not like that if you did not check the job board outside the Base Camp, in favor of exploring on your own, your Sim still got called on the phone with an adventure anyways on the second or third day of your vacation.

When more worlds are added, I would like it so that it does not affect loading times between lots in one world. If it affects loading time at start-up or when traveling between worlds, I would be OK with it though. Speaking of loading screens, I think it would be neat if there was a random chance of a cut-scene (such as a door opening, or a video of the player's choice) during the loading time.
I have been playing The Sims since 2001, when Livin Large came out. My avatar deliberately looks like Chris Roomies from TS1.

I do not tink that the current engine can support an open world.

So as a result, my answer to the OPs question would be "Not a 🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸 thing."

I would like bakeries, wedding venues, clothes shops so sims can buy new clothes and wedding dresses, and more lots for the kiddies to go to.

I would also like bigger lots and bigger worlds. Also I second what someone said earlier, when a Pets expansion is released please add horses again and open up a few lots together. I would also like a tudor style world like this one http://honeywellsims4news.tumblr.com/post/96269344341/the-sims-4-third-world-possible-for-launch. And the ability to set a few default outfits for sims in the world e.g. for worlds like dragon valley, after the first gen sims age up to modern clothes which ruins the whole medieval look.

Also, I would like family trees and grave yards. On this note, please EA fix the grave yard glitch, where after a few days the name off the grave disappears and the ghost no longer appear.

Just "testingcheats on" and then "cas.fulleditmode". After you enter the CAS you will see everything enabled.

That request is similar to one of mine that I did here. It is on page 12, if you want to see. I agree with you that the family trees should return, and with them the dear toddlers.

I haven't read all the responses here and know a few people have mentioned open world. I do miss the open world feel of Sims 3 but don't miss having to use mods to make sims show up where my sims are. I like the neighborhood set-up but, feel they could use some improvement. What I'd like to see within each neighborhood is THOSE buildings being open. If I'm on a row with a bar, a gym, a nightclub and a library, I shouldn't need a loading screen going into those buildings. I shouldn't need a loading screen going into the houses in a neighborhood group either if the owner lets my sim in. I can walk freely around outside, which is awesome, but to switch to a building I was not visiting previously requires a loading screen.

The other thing that would be very helpful is the ability to edit the public areas and place the things on those lots we want to better customize the neighborhoods. I don't want to put community lot buildings on them but I would like to be able to edit them to add the objects and decor I want to tie a neighborhood together.

The TL:DR version. I want a single loading screen entering a neighborhood area and the ability to edit public areas. :)

I love a lot of the ideas that are being shared and I agree with many of them. Some of the things I would like to see in my game would be:

    • Family trees- Having a large extended family this would be wonderful.
    • Instead of an “open world” have an open neighborhood. I would love to simply walk to a neighbor’s house or to the park across the street without a loading screen.
    • More worlds with different themes with more things to do for the Sims when they visit there or live there.
    • More careers. I would love to see more.
    • Having the option to be able to choose which NPCs the program deletes.
    • Holiday items-which ever holiday you wish your Sims to celebrate-there is something for them to decorate with.
    • More venues for the Sims of all ages to do so it seems more worthwhile to leave the home lot.
    • Story progression options for NPCs. Heck, I don’t even mind when my Sims in houses I haven’t played do something within their character (like flirting and making new friends). An option for this would be nice.
    • More options for clothing, especially retro items such as from the 20’s, 30’s, 40’s etc. Even building styles so if one wanted to make an Art Deco style home, the capability is available as well as the décor.

Just my two cents. I really enjoy the game and I am looking forward to what may be in store for future installments.

I understand the fact that EA has addressed the lag times and glitched of having a big open world. My game runs smooth and I like that! Thank You! Somebody had to say it. :)

My suggestion would be to have open neighborhoods. I really like the fact that the game has gone back to the Sims 2 formatting - I have read a lot of players like the Sims 2 best. My favorite was the Sims 2 family interactions, but the Sims 3 had my interest with the gardening and ocean play.

It would be way cool to have an open neighborhood and have the daycare career back - and for the daycare worker to keep the kids from that neighborhood - with the tell tale interaction - please. I would like to be able to go next door and visit without a loading screen. A small park for the neighborhood for the families to get together for cook outs, games, volleyball, maybe softball would be nice.

I would suggest for the sake of other players interest to be fulfilled without lagging the whole game - even if we have to deal with loading screens - because they don't take long to load - that neighborhoods be themed, like you have started out doing with the game now. I have read some of the suggestions - trailer park, business in the neighborhood such as pet store, restaurant, grocery store - kinda like America used to be. And it would be great to still have a neighborhood for rural living and farming where the lots are bigger, that would give choice for play time without bogging down the game. I for one do not want to have to use mods for this game - I want to enjoy the game play without having to fix it.

Please do not bog down the game with NPC characters and 142 cars lol - yup I had used a mod for The Sims 3 that removed vagrants and cars and it was 142 cars.

I really would like terrain being hilly and building on a slope and I really miss being able to create patterns etc. This is the 1st part of the game so I am just trying to build up the families in preparation for the next step, but please let me be creative and raise the different ages of family like toddlers and teens.

Basements and spiral staircases, a real hospital instead of my Sim disappearing and i can still hear her.

Also while I have your ear, the discussion box at the top of the screen during play gets in the way of seeing the room or TV etc, the needs pop up on the right bottom hides part of the hygiene and I really do not like "not" seeing the needs of the selected Sim by just glancing - respectfully I don't like having to click on it.

I do miss being able to just click on another household Sim if one is visiting a neighbor for instance but I'm getting used to it.

I love being able to edit house details, number of bedrooms etc. I love CAS, the emotions are interesting and does add to the game, the families interact more and I find I am not bored if I play a household with at least 6 Sims with 2 of them being children and at least 1 baby - it increases the interactions and I am able to see what you put in the game for us.

Also please give back longer lifespans like in the Sims 3. Weather, pets - like Sims 3 that you can play including horses.

Thanks EA, I'm having a blast!

Open worlds brought back. Having load screens in between each lot does not save me any time. Sure in Sims 3, once my game started getting bloated, it could take several minutes for my game to initially load up. After that initial load though I could play for hours traveling as much as I want without ever having to wait for a load screen again. Now, I don't experience any load screens between travel because I've STOPPED TRAVELING. Why bother traveling when everything you need is at home without a load screen? I want there to be a reason to travel again. Laundry mats, arcades, stores where you actually purchase for simoleons clothing and jewelry like in earlier versions of the game. Now you get clothing options per set and it's free, but before you could have as many as you could purchase. I want restaurants that are actually restaurants like in earlier versions of the game where you would sit down, order food, a waiter would bring it to you and you could go on a real date. The movie theatres from 3 added another way to date. Give me a reason to care about the world because right now I'm more concerned about the lot.

ETA: I'd be okay with keeping some load screens if you got rid of load screens between buildings within each subsection like some others have mentioned. If one of the sections has 5 houses and I can see the neighbors house, I can walk right up to the neighbors house, but then have to have a load screen to actually knock on their door, that's not okay. If I can walk to it I shouldn't have to have a load screen to actually interact with it.

Speaking of lots, I want to be able to place lots in the world like we used to. I should be able to choose the sizes and place them freely. If I want everyone to have a big open lot and give it a rural feel I should be able to do that. Or if I want tiny squished together lots like the city, again, I should be able to do that. I also want to be able to edit the world. I want to move roads, I want to change the trees/terrain/fences/etc. And the map? Ugh. Please, please, please fix the map. Why is it just big white blobs until you mouse over it? Please give us a real world and a real map back.

I feel like someone took TS1 and just updated it to shiny TS4 graphics and pretty painted unplayable backgrounds. You've taken the sand out of the sandlot aspect of play. And if you insist on continuing to provide the worlds and refuse us the ability to edit them freely and fully then please provide more variety in the styles. Every neighborhood feels very suburban. Lower class suburban, middle class suburban, and higher class suburban, all of which are technically still middle class and suburban. Even the Island in 3 had a very suburban feel to it. In all the neighborhoods/worlds everything just seems so prim and proper but not too fancy. They all feel safe and clean. Where are the rural country worlds with wide open spaces? Where are the gritty trailer parks and dark alleys of the cities? You can make places feel lived in and old without just straight up making them look destroyed or adding criminal things.

    Basically,
    -Open world
    -Better looking map
    -Ability to edit world
-Lots in the world worth traveling to, shops you purchase items at, restaurants you actually eat at and are served at, arcades, etc.
-Terrain editing tools again, as in raising and lowering the ground level (including cfe)
-This one isn't specifically world or world editing but, story progression. A world full of sims who only age and die never getting promoted, marrying, or having kids is no world at all. Having to go around through Household Management and pair up people, add kids, etc. is time consuming and annoying.
    -Wider variety in world styles

I like most your ideas but basically it sounds familiar. The TS3. But I too need to feel connected to the rest of the neighborhoods. I get disconnected when I can't see the other houses. I'm not asking to be able to travel without load screens in that respect but to be able to 'view' the house that is supposed to be next to mine no matter where my Sim lives. And other things I already posted. But I would agree on some Story Progression if I have full control of when, how the things in story progression work. I don't want back the TS3 story progression as it messed up a lot of my plans but more control of everything would be a good idea.

I would really like to see bigger neighborhoods and bigger worlds. I don't mind the closed world or the loading screens, because I think it makes richer game play available and possible, but if it must be a closed world, then the worlds and neighborhoods should be much bigger. I really would want to see a beach world or a city world, or maybe a mixture of both, like L.A. or something maybe less city, like a quaint beach world that also has farmlands. I enjoy playing many different styles. One day I might want to play a farmer family who live on a ranch and are very simple, and the next I might want to play a sim who lives in the city trying to advance his/her/their career! Both interest me and are equally fun to play for me.

I'm glad we got bars and lounges in the base game, because it leaves more to be made for expansion. So, maybe restaurants, arcades, stores and shops and other places for our sims to visit. Also, a place for our sims to get tattoos while playing live mode, because I haven't figured out if there is a way we can do this, yet.
