Question about plants on public lots

I found a blackberry plant near the park at Oasis Spring, I had my sim to take some plant cuttings on the blackberry plant, but I did not realize I did it twice, so the blackberry plant died... And because I found some rare stuff during the trip to the park, I did not want to reload from the last save. My question is, will the dead plant ever regenerate on public lots?

I've had plants die in public spaces after playing the game for awhile. And yep...they regenerated. I think it took a day or so, if I recall.
