Is it Friday yet? I don't know about you but I am ready for the weekend. Daylight savings time ended in the US last weekend and it has been a long week. Looking forward to the Doctor Who season finale Saturday and of course time to Sim! My current Rosebud Challenge has seen the birth of the 4th generation. The McSage household just passed the 500K mark so halfway there.
This week is never going to end it seems like. Well I have started this challenge with the Jenkins couple. Here they are: Abbie is a genius, geek, bookworm with the Computer Whiz Aspiration and Nathan is a geek, loves outdoors, goof ball and has the Freelance Botanist Aspiration. Hope it is okay I started with a couple.

Yes a couple is great. I started my official test run with Twin Siblings. The second time around I started with only one.
I hope you enjoy playing and hope you will share your progress.
Hello everyone *Waves* Just popping in with a quick update and a tip.
The McSage Clan to date:
Generation Two: Saffron (Daughter of Percy)
Generation Three: Mikayla, Keegan, Tierra (Children of Saffron) and Alex (Child of Edison)
Generation Four: Maeve and Taryn (Daughters of Mikayla)
Both Saffron and Mikayla completed the Fortune Aspiration - Fabulously Wealthy which earned them the Shrewd Trait. This is a great trait for raking in the Simoleons. Each week they receive a direct deposit based on household funds. This week the household funds is §490,294 (money on hand). Between the two of them §44,940 was added this (Sim) week. The household Net Worth was §692,057 at that moment.
Gameplay Tips: These work both in this challenge and other gameplay. When playing other challenges you may want to check with the challenge creator to be sure these are allowed.
When playing multiple Sims use the pause button and queue the tasks to do.
Have more than 1 toilet haha
When starting out, eat at the park and if you can place food in your inventory for later.
If you don't need an item sell it.
I pause the game and get everyone set in their task also.
In the beginning I carefully added one item to the lot at a time so I didn't get the bills too high.
Use the park to collect items and fish.
Sleep on the top floor of the museum (Oasis Springs), a comfy bench and it's quiet.
Eat at the grill locations. Find a picnic table with food (not spoiled). Bob Pancakes was usually around making really nice meals in my save.
Use the instruments at the nightclubs or park to skill up.
I also use the Pause - Plot - Play method especially with multiple Sims in the household.
Save a couple of the My Sim Statues (the least valuable will work). These can be 'Placed in World' at strategic spots for enhancing the Playful Mood. Especially helpful when left next to the Pirate Ship / Jungle Gym. The 'Play on Jungle Gym While Playful' can be easily achieved using this tip.
Sims at home can 'Build Skills' while a controllable Sim is on another lot.
Just click on the lightening bolt symbol on the Sims avatar. The default is Care for Self. I like to choose the Build Skill or Socialize options. As long as they have at least one full Skill point this will work.
I finished the challenge. I don't know how to get that cool badge you have but I did a print screen of it. But I can't post it because I'm a "New Member." Don't know how I can be a new member after 4 years, but oh well. I still did accomplish it.

This sounds like a lot of fun! Think I might do this but I'm afraid I'm not very good at making up stories or even writing details. Mind if I do a let's play of it @EuphorialQueen? I haven't done one before but have thought about starting it up and this sounds like it could be a good let's play! I'll link back to here and give credit where credit is due of course.

I kept telling myself I couldn't start another challenge, really I did, but I have no will power when it comes to sims challenges I started this last night and played a few hours, I made it to day 10 I think? I won't have time to write a blog or post pics of this one but can highlight here if anyone cares to know how it's going.
I started with a single sim and chose to put her in one of the lots in the top right section of willow creek. There is a community garden directly behind the lot, a park with play ground across the street and a few fishing spots nearby. After buying a trash can and finally getting one of the money cheats to work so I could set her funds to zero and she went out to collect everything nearby. Then I sent her to the park to see if anyone would cook up some food. After digging up all the collectibles she stopped to eat and chat with some townies. I sold all her my sim dolls and any duplicate crystals, gems, fossils and frogs. The first night she had sold 403S worth of stuff, I could have sold the rest but decided not to. (she has the curator collecting aspiration so some things only count if in her inventory) I had her spend the night at the park, napping is really not any way to keep their energy up! As soon as the dig sites respawned I had her run around and grab those, eat, 'bathe in the sink' (wash hands, brush teeth) until she was in the green. Sold all her stuff and she had right around 600S so it was time for a job. Started her in the writing career and sent her to the library to practice writing.
I spent her first bit of money on a double bed and a toilet so she was at least well rested for work the next day. When she got home from work I bought a shower. The next day she was off so more collecting, harvesting of the local garden and some fishing. I wasn't having any luck meeting males sims that were YA or A, they were all elders or teens, or married She finally met a guy that wasn't either of these and I moved him in. She had built the roof house had the double bed, toilet, shower, fridge, counter, and even her first promotion at work which brings the computer reward, so she also had a desk, chair and computer. He brought with him 20K so they now have a two bedroom one bath home and about 14K in cash. Not sure what my total is as I didn't check but think it is close to 27k. She's already to level 4 in the writing career and when I go in to play next he will be starting the tech guru career since his aspiration is the computer one. I think the hardest part is over, keeping a sim happy enough to get started in their career is the challenge when they have nothing! I probably will only play it once a week so it may take me a while to complete it, but it will be a break from my legacies and school.

This is a great way to share your progress. Sounds like you are doing quite well.

Managing needs and emotional roller coasters are in my opinion the most challenging. My poor Sim-Minions felt the crack of the virtual whip (gentle but assertive and persistent encouragement ) many times over to get their appointed tasks completed. I hope you are having fun and continue to share. -EQ
Okay I've recorded and uploaded 3 parts yesterday so there should be something for you guys to watch if you want to keep up with my challenge. Now please keep in mind that I'm brand spanking new at recording and I'm still working out the kinks so it will hopefully get heaps better. Hope it's entertaining and feel free to give me any kind of feedback you want, as long as it's constructive of course. Also I'll keep up with others here but will maybe not post every time I post on youtube so check back often instead as I do have a lot of free time to record. The channel is here.
Ohh I kinda made a mistake! I bought an easel to make her some money and then when I returned here to post a comment I read some of the others' stories and was reminded that you could only make money a certain way. Is this rule for the entire lifespan and entire household?

No limit on how you make your money. The only exclusion is a Mod or Cheat to add funds to the household.
Earned traits are allowed as long as the Satisfaction Points are earned in game.
I tried to post pictures but now it says I have to wait for approval so here I am trying again.
Our heroes Nathan and Abbie were totally perplexed as to why they were dumped on a lot with no money so being Geeks they turned to their phones for answers.
Right away they started plugging away to earn their 1000 Simoleons so they could get a job. I don't have any pictures because I was to involved in surving but here is one of Nathan in his garden. He had the Freelance botanist trait so he could sell his vegtables but that didn't work out so well so he turned to digging rocks. It was no time and they had enough to get jobs, buy some much needed furniture. What you see in the background on the ground is free cement for the outline of their house
