@IllusoryThrall well geez! That looks interesting! I would like to try that version too! hahaha! I don't see why it wouldn't be possible. We'd have to make certain allowances (like the bills situation, lol) but i think it could be done!
@DCJ504 - The 'almost fire' you mention isn't considered an actual fire, that's just game animation of someone who isn't good at cooking lol. So you were right not to count it. As to the oops babies . . . I'd die lol.
@IllusoryThrall - I had not heard of the Backwards ISBI challenge either, thus have not tried it. Sounds interesting though!
@Lynnwood and @mojot89 It was a thing way back when, I ran across a couple of the old "BISBI" blogs and something chimed in the back of my head wondering if it was even possible in Sims 4. I think once SimNaNo on boolprop is over, I'll give it a try and find out if it will even work. I'm intrigued. If it works, I'll try to write up "twist"/"variation" rules for it.
The oops twins just aged to toddler, and they are being a pain. And their dad is trying to kill himself with over-exertion. My next torch holder became a teen, so when she takes over she will have to deal with her child siblings as well as trying to find a husband.
We had an actual fire when one of the teens tried to cook. Then his brother scared me by cooking right afterward. Grr.
@DCJ504 Sounds like your family is a blast! I wish I could say my family was out of that stage but... lol. I hope your family gets their stuff together!
@mojot89 It's where you start with an elder and each generation starts with the next "lowest" age group. so the next TH takes over at adult, then YA, then teen, then child, then toddler, then infant. https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/665821/new-isbi-challenge-twist here's the rules such as they were for sims 3.. for some reason making an elder sim in the new story mode made me think of it, and now i'm curious to try. LOL. just what i need, another challenge...
@IllusoryThrall - Good luck!! I'll try to keep an eye out, to see how it goes. If the challenge proves doable, I'll definitely post a link of it in the rules as an official 'alternate challenge.'
Hello Lynn i just started my ISBI and i noticed after reading the comments that some people were having trouble with their children and teens not doing homework.Under the Parenting menu there is an option to encourage and then to do home work. I hope this helps someone. Also once i see if i can actually finish ( or at least make it to Gen 3) i'll start a new one and start posting or blogging the story. Happy simming all
I'm hoping this does not qualify as a necropost as I figured the ISBI rules section is the place to ask...I've been wondering if there was an exception made for holidays? Can I click on holiday interactions with my little sim kiddos to complete their holiday wishes or do they just have to get the sad, awful holiday moodlet?
Loving yourself is the most simple and complicated thing you can do for you.
@Meditrina - Ty for the advice! Whether or not fellow ISBI-ers can use the Parenting option will depend on if they have that particular pack, but in any event I'm sure that will prove useful to those who do.
@duhboy2u2 - Challenge threads are somewhat of an exception as far as necro-posting is concerned. In fact I believe all story/creative-content threads are. Those only apply to General Discussions and such and usually only if the topic in question is years old w/o any previous responses. But to your question! Unfortunately holidays do count. A double-edged sword in ISBIs, in that regard. You can only direct NTH family members to do an action once per age category, so unless it's that particular action, then no. You can't direct them to fulfill holiday-related wishes.
Thanks for your reply @Lynnwood. Too bad, but it is what I figured and how I continued. I wish the holiday stuff had been coded to be autonomous or have a chance at autonomy then at least they'd have a chance to "possibly" fulfill it.

I'm not sure about all of the holiday stuff, but I have had the brawl day actions be autonomous. Stuff like put up decorations sadly I don't think is , but you can get around that because I think when one sim triggers it all in the household receive the benefits, same with meals, and you can open presents with other sim.
^^ not perfect, but there is ways to get them at least a decent holiday.
Just popping in wondering if I can have my story added to the list?
(It's not a pure ISBI though - I read a combo Wishacy/ISBI forever ago in the Sims 3 days and decided to give it my own try)
It's only just started, but I'm having a lot of fun so I'm hoping to keep it going long-term! If anyone else has an active ISBI going I'm keen to read a few btw. I've gone through the list on the first page but quite a few seem to have stalled out?
(Also accepting really good ISBI recs that are complete/dead but worthwhile, but it seems to make sense to read active stuff first)
Awesome news! I'll check yours out in the next few days then!
Raising people seems like incredibly hard work, however rewarding I'm told it is, so fair enough you're taking a break! And you're raising three of them!
@Mikkiness - You sure can be added! I don't mind if they're combos, so long as there are ISBI elements in it. Afraid I can't help with any recs, I've been out of simming mode myself for quite a while now (other games and life are holding my interest). Hopefully you can get some others out here to give you some good suggestions tho, and good luck!
Is frog breeding a free action? It is a player action done inside the inventory of a sim. I'm fond of using it as a way to make money, because you can make $160 every few hours for each sim (toddler and up) in your household (even when they are asleep). But it does feel a little cheat-y to do this with NTH sims. Nonetheless, I'm just playing for fun, and not keeping score. Now that I thought about it, I'm trying not to sell the frogs out of the NTH inventory, since that can mean free milestones for the Fabulously Wealthy aspiration.
Hey guys! I took a month off from simming, but will be getting back into it shortly here. I'm excited to get back to the Wilde! I'm gonna have to reread some of my stuff so that I can remember where and what I was doing lol
@pangolin22 - In the strictest of sense, yes it would be cheaty. But as you said, you're playing for fun and not keeping score, so I wouldn't worry about it.
@mojot89 - Welcome back! May your Idio.ts be everything you remembered and more.
