Moving in a Sim to a my household without having to play him/her?

    Yes. Click on a house, select to create family for the house. Move them in. You never have to play with them unless you don't have an active family currently in the world.

    I am pretty sure you can do this with the gallery as well but I haven't tried.

    Sorry, I meant if I can move sims into my household without playing them. I edited my questions.

    As long as you have free will for non selected sims on in the settings any sim in your household you don't currently have selected will go about their own lives without you having to take direct control of them. They won't get a job, marry or have kids but they will interact autonomously with other sims.

    I you are referring to them being part of your household while still being NPC's then I don't think that currently is possible.
