NuSound Wall speakers keep breaking when used with the Origin-al Beats 5000 stereo.

It's only the basement speakers breaking, too. (the basement is where my nectary and the disco area is.) My house is the Lexington. I converted the first floor to be a skills area (martial arts, painting, athletic, sculpting, inventing.) and I wanted my sim to have some music to listen to whilst he levels his inventing skill. the Origin-al Beats 5000 stereo turns on ok, but when I turn it off, the 'broken object' jingle is played. Also, it gives my sim the vile surroundings moodlet in the basement, as the NuSound Wall speakers need repairing... What's going on?
