Can we talk about that "pee walk"?

«1
It annoys the heck out of me every time I see my super man's man Brock Samson stand up and prissy walk his way to the toilet, then proceed to sit down and pee like a lady. Is it asking so much to have gender specific peeing, or is this some kind of equality thing that's soaring over my head?

I hate to tell ya this but 1) not all men pee standing up at a toilet, 2) I've seen video of someone's sim standing to pee, 3) Being a d.i.c.k about gender things is... wow.

But maybe someone can mod a thing so people who want stereotypical manly men can check a box to have them never act like a lady.

The whole thing was tongue in cheek, but thanks!
Really though, I've never seen any of my sims standing to pee yet, and they seem to have to pee CONSTANTLY (I'm exagerrating). I'm 4 generations in now.

And sure some dudes sit to pee, but the people making urinals aren't running out of business any time soon.

Frankly, the pee walk always looked more like the... other thing you do at a toilet walk to me. And guys have to sit down for that, don't they? =P Or do they just stand up on the toilet seat and drop it like a missile?

Bear in mind that the "bladder" need in the Sims encompasses both pee and poop.

But yeah, TS3 had standing for males with relatively high bladder need, and sitting if the bladder need was lower, IIRC.

As to whether a change to the walk could be modded in, sure. It's a matter of editing the animations. It's not EASY... there are never too many modders who have the skillset to do a good job with animations... but in principle it's totally possible, eventually at least. We had proof-of-concept of custom animations in the demo already. Eventually there will be tools to make it easier to get your animations into the game, but creating the animations themselves will NEVER be easy.

I laughed so loudly at that that I alarmed two cats and my bf. hahahaha
Also, I think most men sit down for that but maybe the manly men do drop missiles. bahahaha

I'm just going to leave this here.

I think the 'toilet' humor (lol) they have in this game is really great, especially since it can change with whatever emotion the Sim is feeling at the time. I love the 'pee walk' animation a lot, and it lets me know when other Sims are having this issue and if I can help, I do. My male Sim usually stands to pee unless I have let his need get too low, then he sits. I don't understand why this is an issue at all though. :|

the guys and boys do pee standing. they only sit if the need is too depleted. i'm playing a family of mostly boys and all of themand their dad stand unless i let them handle things on their own then they forget and sit down.

That's because the baby and sack rest very heavily on the mom's bladder and you have to pee about fourteen million times a day as a result. Sauce: Mom.

its nice that pregnant woman are more realistic now.

In some ways yes, in other ways they have done the opposite. I think that for game-play reasons though, it makes more sense and is a lot more likable. Have to use the bathroom a lot more, pregnancies don't last a set amount of days (it's 3-4 now) and you can continue going to work (that's reality!) but not having to change clothes at all is kind of 'meh' to me. I only require a certain amount of 'realism' in my games for me to give a carp. Otherwise, it's fine. If I had it my way, I'd have never had to waddle around in pregger clothing IRL either!

I love the pee walk and I think it's really amusing when the walk doesn't really fit the character persona of the sim. It adds silliness back to the game!

The pee walk makes me smile when one of my Sims does it. SOOOO cute!! Probably my favorite thing about this game lol.

It looks kind of weird when my big Sim dad scampers to the throne like that, but it looks just as weird if his daughter does it, even though she's a lot more dainty than him. Though, if you ever really had to go IRL, then you're not walking normally either.

And yes, some guys sit down. Even really big ones, like myself. And the reason I'm doing it: I don't like spray. Spray means more cleaning. And the taller you are, the bigger the height from which the pee falls, which means more spray. And thus more cleaning. Also depends on the toilet type, "German type" toilets (reverse bowl/shelf style) are really bad for standing, because of the shelf, but even the "French type" (washdown type), and its variations, with the water in the center, can spray. And I realize I know far too much about toilets.

Squatting is healthier - for both genders!

Oh man, that takes angry pooping to a whole new level. Now I know why the bathroom sometimes smells like something died in the pipes; those missiles are getting too much air exposure.

I dunno what was up with the person who disagreed with most people just to be 'that guy' and I won't say the name, but it's really childish. I've made the mistake myself of actually flagging someone on accident but I was quick to take it back. This is just someone that went down the first page disagreeing. It is a fact what I said about babies when mom is preggers. /sigh

Edit: Tired mama, no typey goodly.

The pee walk was funny the first day I played, but now it just annoys me. I can't wait for the mod that gets rid of it unless your sim is literally 2 minutes away from peeing their pants.
