I had a sim come over for a while but when all of my sims left for work/school she just stayed in my house and sat on the computer... Pretty annoying since it wasn't her house.
The door entry options (and locking) is totally something that should be added in a patch. Also the bed ownership. That was a really neat feature, although I think it may still exist? My sims usually go to bed in the same bed I've previously sent them to, but I've seen them go sleep somewhere random before so idk.
And heck yes to the bathroom.
And double, triple yes to the family tree. I admit it's not a painfully important feature regarding the mechanics of gameplay, but it's still one of my favorites, and as it seems, many other people's favorite too.
I agree but what is more annoying to me is Sims who don't know their own bed! I am soooo tired of my sim crawling in bed with her grandpa!!! I mean, SERIOUSLY?!
I remember the issue with the bed ownership in Sims 2 and now it is back, Yeah I hope they fix this quickly.

In my game sim friends of all ages call the child to ask if they can come over to hang out, but nobody calls the adult. And every last friend the mother has is a stalker. Usually if one shows up at least 4 others will come over & then she's trapped in a huge group conversation.
I do find it amusing that even if she leaves for work right in front of them, they'll hang out on the porch for an hour or so waiting to be invited in before sighing & leaving.

They really need to fix this. I miss Sims knowing which bed is theirs to sleep in. They just sleep in whichever bed they want!
One of the Gurus have already said that they are highly considering adding family trees. However the family tree won't fix the who sleeps where and why. The sims already knows who is their mother, father, grandpa etc, they just don't have a family tree.
I still hope they add family trees through, and I hope its via a patch and not an expansion pack. That's something that does definitely need to be in the base game.
That's a great idea and something that is really needed.
edit: both locking doors and a family tree
And at least the option for maternity leave, I'm sick of my sim either running of to work while in labour, (who does that?) or the moment she pops out a baby she goes to work. If you stop them their boss starts ringing demanding where they are.
Locking doors, family tree and maternity leave - the only things that are really annoying me in this game rrrrrrrr
I've found that after a few nights of sending them to the same bed, they automatically go to that bed. Otherwise, they attempt to go to the bed that offers the most comfort.
Yeah, if you direct them to a bed for a few nights, they'll automatically go to it. But I did notice that once they age into YA, they go to what bed is closest so I have to re-train them. -___-
Haven't had much of an issue with bed assignment, but sims always walking into the bathroom on another sim because they just have to have a chat while they're doing their business or showering is driving me batty. For me, they aren't even going in there to use the bathroom at the same time. It's just to talk.
Locking doors is much needed! Once one of my sims sat on the toilet when a friend of hers rang at the door. I clicked the friend to invite her in, assuming my sim would greet her once she had finished her business. Instead the friend entered and proceeded straight into the bathroom. Also I have set up a hobby room in the Landgraab mansion, complete with a tactical map made of kitchen islands, battleships, infantery and cavalery. Unfortunately these count as toys (action figures and toy horses) and not only the maid, but every second visitor tends to put them away. And don´t get me started on my prison doors... You may say now my examples are uncommon and nobody else does this, but my point is, that the Sims series was always a breeding ground for creativity and thinking outside the box. It souldn´t be made unneccesarily hard!

That happened to me too -- I just watch the time closely and when it's within about 10 minutes of work time I'll do the "Ask to Leave" (which always looks so rude -- I preferred when Sims said goodbye in Sims 3 they'd at least shake hands, or hug if they were friends. And if they were romantically involved you'd get Kiss Goodbye as an option which really belongs in this game with all the romantic interactions; I'd love to have my Sim spouses kiss goodbye when one is leaving for work.
Yes! I'm so tired of my teen sim's parents barging into her room to use her computer!
My Sim mom is always going into her teen daughter's room when the radio is on to start dancing, when there's a perfectly good stereo downstairs in the living room.

It would make me moderately concerned lol. Some stranger sitting on my kid's bed. I mean, dang. Sims can be so unintentionally (or not) creepy!

You'd think it'd be a simple thing...
Totally.

Agreed and assign beds as well.
I want locking doors though. Definitely.
