Let's give credits where credits are due. Today's SimGurus, Matt and Shannon, were EONS better and actually resemble normal people who play the sims, not just weird bros.
First TS4 stream that did not bore me to tears and in fact it felt a lot closer to what most people play the game, instead of being weird for the sake of being weird.
First time in a long while the game was shown in a more positive light, to my taste.
I liked that the Travel With command works with sims you have barely met. It helps streamline the game play, so plagued with loading screens that chop everything up.
I hated parties had goals (TS4 seem allergic to sandbox), but I was reassured regular parties are still a thing.
Christopher Whitwick looked like a teen, proving once again TS4 lacks not only toddlers, but teens, which are mere variations of adults. Confusing and disappointing.
Hair still looks atrocious, the worst since TS1. But the builds and environments are really beautiful, and so are the sims if you ignore the helmets they wear in lieu of hair.
Clipping is still disgusting and shows how rough and unfinished the game is. After woo-hooing Bella and Mortimer walk right through each other. I guess better routing and smarter sims are other promised features affected by the "things change" policy.
The little boy was downright adorable, to again, give due credits. Cooking is very well done too.
I really hope the last streaming, shows a bit more of family play. It still feels to young-adult-oriented.
Matt and Shannon, good job! Please, come back!

First fun TS4 video. It was good.
Definitely.
I agree.
You can watch it still. Goto youtube and look up simsvip, they have it listed at a lets play sims 4, thing for the 28th. I actually quite enjoyed this live stream. I especially loved the throwing a party thing. Sims 2 and 3, I had to really guess at what to do with parties. But with it laying out goals like that, I will most definitely probably try hosting more parties on Sims 4 for my sims.

I agree about goals for parties. I think it'll make it easier to make the guests happy. I also like the fact you can have parties without the goals, too.
I hate the gols. It feels like a dictatorship.
But regular parties are still avaliable.
TS4 parties seem good. I like the Gallery element.
But I hate the goals. It's my party and I'll cry if I want to.
Yeah, for me, the goals actually will help me out because otherwise I suck at parties lol. Also, sim kids look fun to play for a change. Sims 2 had really awesome kids, but sims 3 kids were boring and I just wanted to get my sim kids to teens so they had something to do. So it's nice seeing all the interactions kids have. The pregnancy test was also awesome. I wonder if the expecting mother can break the news to the hubby and if he'd get excited, unless he doesn't want kids lol. But I definitely am gonna enjoy having a sim kid practice a musical instrument.
Also even I chuckled seeing that one sim that was imported in last nights video passing them with his feminine walk. That was just hilarious to me.

Edit: name typo bad me
Honestly, to me, the clipping was really not as bad as some make it out to be. Yes there were a few points where there was a quick clip, but unless you really looked for them, you ended up missing them. Only time something was off for me, was when the guy kept canceling actions at a couch causing the sim to walk in circles around the couch, but that was it. Tonight's video, I also wasn't looking for clipping, and didn't spot them either. All I saw was really fun looking gameplay, and the houses we can build look amazing.

Okay answer me this how is it okay to replace one bad set of coding with another bad set of coding?
If you were blind, you missed them.
People with sight were shocked and turned off.
Notice that in the TS4 videos they make it seem like they're both playing, that its "we" pretty much every time.
We need to beg EA to bring multiplayer back to this game. Not "massive multiplayer" but at least some form of multiplayer.
Simple I will use the sims 3 as an example for this. You got 5 sims in a room, and 1 bar. One sim goes to make a drink at the bar. 2 decide to go up to each other and begin chatting. You tell the drink fetching sim to return to the other 2 sims he was socializing with. But now, he's screaming instead, and stomping his feet because he can't get past the 2 chatty sims. In that instance, rather than him cancel the interaction, I'd rather he simply clip through them to get back to his buddies. It's not bad coding. MMO's even use it, because games that didn't have clipping, would have groups of players block a bridge and not let anyone by unless they bribed their way past.
So if you want your sim to do something and there's other sims you can't control that block your path, it's better to clip through them, than to be stuck till they decide their conversation was over. What if one of your important needs reached orange, and the sims keeping you stuck still wont move. You really want your sim to starve to death or fall asleep on the spot, or pee themselves or whatever? Or would you rather your sim slip past the obstacle to take care of their needs? Same thing if your sim has to use the bathroom, and there's a bunch of sims standing in the doorway not letting anyone through because they can't decide who should go through the door first. If they could clip, then all sims could get their bladder needs filled.

It doesn't even need to be multiplayer it need to be an actual good solid foundation with good coding...not whatever was shoved into TS4.
