Right now I have like 15 old folders, but there are families and houses that I want to retrieve from the old folders and put into the new folder, so I have no idea what of those old folders I can delete right this very minute though.
It's fun going through old saved games. I have old files on other computers. I just copy the saved games to my current computer and as long as I have the world installed, it's such fun to look at the memorable sims I made so many years ago.
I wish I could help you set up Error Trap and Master Controller. The most common problem I find when mentoring people to use these mods, is that when they sand a screenshot of their folder, the icon for the NRAAS mods shows a stack of books for an icon. That always means that they have not properly decompressed the files. And zipped or compressed files in a folder intended to handle PACKAGE files will crash the game to desktop.
So enable your file extensions in windows. And then decompress the files outside of the game folders. Then just drop the package files into the Mods/Packages folder. Then delete the cache files and you will be in business.
So many gamers use NRAAS mods and if other mods in the game are updated to the current patches, most often they will work with the NRAAS mods since many simmers who make OTHER mods, also use NRAAS.

I can run MC and SP.....it's overwatch and Error Trap that give me problems. I can even run Relativity. But seriously, even if I motherlode my game crashes on me. So it's not the installation of the mods.....I have the mod folder and the files decompressed into that mod folder.
And again no answer to the Sim Points taken from my EA account issue............when is that issue going to be resolved. MC and error watch aren't going to take care of that problem...that's an EA issue that wound up deducting my simpoints when I wasn't even buying anything with them.

Its absolutely amazing that SimGuruBChick posted news to let us know that things are still alive! Thanks, I can breathe a little easier with my plan to only buy things at their greatest discount which require I wait for another round. Ads and more CYS availability would be awesome, but I'll just sit in my chair and try to be patient.
Thanks to some generous donors (Does that sound weird? Definitely does.) I picked up the Romanza for 25 SP. I'm excited for The Boardwalk to @p-para-Xylene. I'm not working though, so I have to plead with my husband to pretty, pretty please buy me enough SP to buy stuff like this. Doesn't leave a lot of points afterwards though, and I can't get them all the time.
Wow yeah, I really ought to look into utilizing the Nraas mods.
Oooh, that is a lovely build @Pugslover4! I remember the books in elementary school. I had a project one to build the Ingle home with Popsicle sticks. It was going to be terrific because I had all these ideas for it. Unfortunately, I either ran out of time or didn't have the supplies. Maybe it would be fun to do something similar with my son when he is older.

@BlazonReaper24 -thank you for the comments. I agree that many people are pretty resourceful with what they have. We all have to find work arounds from time to time. I have been fortunate to live part of my life in Asia, and I have have often found that even people who seem to have the barest of necessities are often very generous with the sharing of comfort, food and seemingly endless tea.

Something really sounds off. if motherlode isn't working. I wonder if your game installation has some glitch in it. Another NOTE here: some people actually cannot run motherlode without turning on TestingCheatsEnabled True! So see if that makes a difference?
My thoughts: We invest a lot of resources in the game, so resolve basic game corruption as soon as possible can possibly prevent total game failures. I tend to like logic puzzles a lot, so I keep wondering about solutions for you. You may not want to do any of the following, and that's okay.
A very important side track here: Also, make sure that you do not have a stray MODS/PACKAGES folder in any of your PROGRAM FILES. These will conflict with identical folders that are in your documents folder. Long time ago, if we modded our game, we used to have to put the mods folder in the GAME files. Later, EA made it easier to mod our games by allowing the mod folder to be in the documents file.

I wonder if you have stray mod folders in your game files. They need to be gone. You can only have ONE copy of the Mods folder in your game.
Your Resource.cfg file that tells the game where your mod related files are located, also needs to be correctly written and in the right folder example
Do you regularly defragment your files? For example if you recently removed all those memory hogging Sim memories. your save files will be fragmented. Games run faster when mechanical drives don't have to do extra work to find bits and pieces.
If a minty fresh reset still cannot handle motherlode, then it seems that you have a corrupt game install.
This can happen accidentally as well, if a single file needed by the game is accidentally dragged away, moved or deleted.
Power black outs can also corrupt files, as can crashes, such as those caused by overheating, or hard disk errors and even fragmented files with bits that go missing.
If you do reinstall, do not fail to use Superpatcher to make sure you have all the known fixes. It turns out that many games are not correctly patched. And there is still an issue about the fact that some users get launcher warnings, saying they need to patch but the patch cancels out or fails due to launcher problems.
After all these steps, Motherlode should no longer be broken.
The superpatcher contains fixes that should address any store content that doesn't work properly. (there are some things that have not been fixed by EA, but the number of glitches in your game should drop.
Anyway, those are some ideas. I thought I should scribble them down so I can get them out of my head for now.
I feel distressed to see that your game has so many problems. But all I can do is make suggestions.

Good morning. Been lurking the last week or so. Busy OE and spent part of the weekend trying Sims4 trial. Will post later on another thread about that and post link here. But, suffice it to say that is 6 hrs of my life gone, that I really wish I could recover. LOL.
I'm going to enjoy my day off today and play Sims3!! I finally took a long weekend as my payback for doing 2 holidays, and being on call 3 weeks in a row back in Dec. Friday was spent at dialysis center with hubby. He wants to do home dialysis, so he has been in training for a couple of weeks and Friday was my day to get signed off on some of the things I will do for him. I was so proud of him. I watched him stick himself for the arterial line and he got it first time! They are still working on the venous 'buttonhole' that makes a track so it is easier to stick yourself so the tech did the venous stick. When we first started talking about it, he thought I would be able to stick him...just cause I'm a nurse. But, nope the patient has to learn to do it all otherwise they can't do it at home. He will have a couple more weeks of training and then start at home and I think I have to go for one more session towards the end as a follow up.
I've started having Error 12 issues again as well and I know it is because I have too much stuff in my game. I've been dl'ing worlds and omg...I love CAP and download at least several new ones a week. I've started using a save cleaner. http://www.simlogical.com/ContentUploadsRemote/uploads/1532/ It does help with the in game bloat and game runs a bit better after I do a clean up. It is not without some risk so make sure to save a copy of the save you are cleaning on you desktop just in case. http://nraas.wikispaces.com/SKILLS This is some helpful info about the potential issues with the cleaner. I have not had any...knock on wood! I know there is another way to do the cleaning as well, but, from what I read I have to manually take things out and am terrified I will take out wrong stuff and totally bork my game. So, this one works for me as all I have to do is push one button and wait for it to tell me it is done. It decreased my file by 51% the last time. It doesn't help with all the other stuff I've installed in the game though so that is why I am make a new 'vanilla' folder
I am using Ciane's http://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/807788/spreadsheet-links-for-reinstalling-tracking-store-stuff/p1 thread so hopefully I won't ever have to do the whole thing again. Just save what she says save and add back in a new folder when the time comes. I'm not doing it exactly like she did, but, trying to do the dc cache stuff so beachy stuff is together, magical things are together etc and making a list of what I put in each of those ebc files. I will try to put all my CAP in one, so if it becomes an issue I can just take it out...at least that is the plan.

@pugslover4 I have your Laura Ingalls' house in my game also. I like cool lots as much as I like patterns! I had one of my Sim families use it as a starter farm in a world that eventually they were able to 'get rich' and buy new land and a bigger farm....using the grove except I changed some stuff about the land.

I have never been able to do any kind of cheat......even when Sims 3 was out on the market for less than 5 hours and brand new on my computer. Again, not everyone can use mods or cheats in the game....it doesn't mean that their game is glitched or borked........if it was the game wouldn't run smoothly after not using cheats and mods.
Good morning @bekkasan sorry to hear about your husband needing dialysis My mother in law did home dialysis and it certainly made her life a little easier and she felt much better. The dialysis at the centre always made her feel exhausted, she much preferred the home one. You're husband is lucky to have his own personal nurse, but it is good that they encourage the patient to do it themselves because for some reason or another, you may not always be able to do it for him.

Anyway, I thought I posted this here too but my game does run good now. I"m just having problems with EA taking SimPoints away from my store account when I don't buy anything and not getting any help on the issue no matter who I message or call.
I hope everybody who is going after Boardwalk today gets it. I thought about going after it before the ads quit working but now am going to pass until next time. Passing on Serenity Retreat also for now.
The next set I'm watching is Le Cirque Esprit when it comes up wednesday for 55 points for me.

@wittanthony1 it's the same for me. I'm choosing to pass on both for now until ads come back or until after taxes. I'm down to 7 venues and (thanks to a VERY generous simmer) 3 worlds, but I've chosen to prioritize the bistro, bakery, greenhouse, and bohemian garden for now. It also doesn't help that we're both saving for an emergency travel fund for now (my partner's grandmother has to have heart surgery this month and I have a cousin that is in and out of hospice with advanced ovarian cancer), so without the ads I can't justify purchases that I'm not sure I'll use.

That's just about the happiest news I've heard in quite a spell! You & Yours are surely blessed. Got you a little something to acknowledge this joyful event. Its nuttin' in comparison but I know you've been wanting it. Oh Dear, I hope it doesn't add to your nausea issues?!
I just snatched up that Serenity Retreat. Though... Maybe I shoulda/coulda bought the Sunlit Tides world instead. Not convinced that was my bestest idea evah? Ah well, onward...
I haven't had much leisure time whatsoever but I Sim when I can! I'm nearly overwhelmed to 'creative paralysis' by all this new content. In short session-bursts I've been creating whatever just to check out all this stuff in-game. I'm gonna have to get down to something more permanent and playable soon. Almost too many choices for me now, and nope, I nevah evah thought I'd hit that wall! And... I'll be migrating the entire game to a much more capable PC in a few months, so I've that to look forward to also! Wowie - and there's still another month of new goodies to go for me!!!!
Finally have a chance to come back on here. I kept trying to post, but every time I would sit down and start catching up on everything I'd get called to do something.

Why? It is because most problems are in the user's configurations in the documents TS3 folder, and not the program files where the games are installed.
