Do you know the SimPoints on the SALE coffee bean hipster loft? I was gifted a little end table and my purchase price went down by 225 pts. for complete your set. I have a few more things on my list hoping it would go down even more. Do you think I am on the right track and should just pick up a few more single items since the sale price isn't so hot?
I don't think anyone has answered you yet on this. The answer is no - unless the single items you are buying are on sale, you'll end up paying more that way, because each item (other than the first) only discounts the set by 90% of the cost of the item. The first item gave you such a discount because the first item always does; it gives you 90% of the cost of that item, plus 10% of the price of the set. So you should always buy ONE item from a set that has CYS, but only one.
The exception is if there are individual items for sale at a discount on MMAO, the DD, or the Sale page. In that case, you'll save a few simpoints by buying that item as well.

Got Hewnsman Dining Room set for 40 points this morning off the dd. Now I'm trying to figure out the best way to finish the Full Hewnsman set. Should I get the best price for the outdoor set or the living room set to get full hewnsman to come up free? I now own 18% with a cys of 1320 for full hewnsman. I know I have plenty of time to figure it out. There is other stuff coming up sooner that I don't have yet. Just need to find the ads to get everything.

@wittanthony1 The living room set is way more than you need. I think the outdoor set would be more than enough, as the full set price is probably already less than the worth of all the items in it combined. And even if the full set price is just the worth of all the items combined it should be just enough.
ETA: Just enough to get the Full Hewnsman Set for free when it comes up on the DD, I mean.

To use the spreadsheet to figure out when an item will be on the DD:
Go to the first page of this thread and click on the line that says Awesome DD Calculating Spreadsheet. A window should open to the spreadsheet.
The spreadsheet is big and has a lot of pages, so it can be confusing at first. Once you understand how it works, though, it is easy to use. The first page that opens has a lot of information, but for now you can skip that and use these instructions instead:
On the bottom of the page are a number of tabs. Each tab is a different color and represents a different part of the spreadsheet. There are some tabs you won't need at all, and some that will be very helpful. First click on the Orange Current Rotation tab (it is the 2nd one from the left). This is a list of all of the deals in the order they will appear. Those of us who work on the spreadsheet will occasionally delete the deals that have already passed, so that the information you need is closer to the top. Right now we are on deal #73 (Once Upon A Time Cottage Chair), but I am not sure when you'll be seeing this message, so just scroll down slowly until you see the word "current" in the far left column. That should be the deal currently on the DD website. If you follow the row across there is all kinds of information about the deal, including its regular price, its DD price, the % off, and how many hours the deal will run (1 - 3). Past that are a bunch of columns that list dates and times. You just need to find the column for your time zone to tell you when a particular deal will start.
So that is all great, but what if the item you really, really want is the Uber Sani-Sims Toilet? Do you have to scroll through all 977 deals on the list to figure out where it is??? No! Instead click on the yellow "Sort By Item/Set" tab. Here is a list of all the items on the current DD list in alphabetical order. Scroll down until you find the Uber Sani-Sims Toilet (it starts on line 912). Here you can see that the toilet showed up on this DD list 5 times and at 5 different prices. The appearances are listed here so that the best price is at the top. Notice that the Deal Number 476 in the first column is green. Green means that is the best discount for that item on this list. Yellow are in-between discounts, and Red is the worst discount.
Now go back to the Current Rotation (orange tab) page. Scroll down to #476, the best discount for Uber Sani Sim Toilet. Now you can look to see when the item will appear. In my case, since I am in the Eastern time zone, it would appear on January 22nd at 9:07 a.m. Since it is scheduled to run 2 hours and we have not yet had any early sell-outs on this list, it seems likely that it will run until 11:07.
As you get to know how the spreadsheet works, there are other pages that are quite useful. For example, if you are trying to complete a particular set and get the best prices on items in that set, you can use the "Sort by Part of Set" page to find that information. The Master List, Check List and Item List are mostly for those of us who maintain the sheet, but if you scroll all the way to the right on the bottom bar there are some pages that contain useful information about what sets and venues did and did not appear on this list.

My next set I'm watching for to come up is Faire Folk Attire. Right now my cys price for the dd #93 should be 240. I'm hoping to find enough ads to get it. I have done better with the ads tonight. 6 out of the 14 I had gave me points tonight which is better than I've gotten in a few weeks. I'm hoping by getting the Attire set will help get the Furnishings + Attire really cheap when it comes up and also Make A Wish.

it SOMETIMES has a glitch. Because the system can only calculate sale OR dd but not both. Go to the page with the better % and buy from there (because they will ask which page you hit 'buy' on). Open before and after pages during the transaction. If it does not charge you the correct simpoints, take screen shots and talk to customer service.
Because I could send them screen shots, they refunded me the over-charge (because it withdrew many more simpoints than it showed on the buy page).

@bcsmas Thanks for the well wishes about leaky roofs. My husband devised a system of using towels propped against the wall to drip into plastic garbage cans which seems to have saved the carpets this time, somewhat. Douglas Adams would be proud.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone, I am feeling better now, though a little off cause sleeping during the day is just not something I do lol. But post two is all fixed up now with the repeat list. All it needs is the links now. I also have to go back through and shorten up some of the links that ended up super long so it will help keep the character count down just to fit the new links for the rest of them in.
The dancing robot and I are back again!! For now. Lol!

As for me, prepare for some bragging: I am now a university graduate! We had our ceremony today, gown and mortarboard included, and it was incredible! I even received a medal for graduating at the top of my class, which was very special. The Chancellor of the University shook my hand, which is such an honour! I feel like a kid in the candy store of grown-up tradition. All of the bowing and medieval traditions were so interesting to watch! So, I would like to thank my wonderful friends here -- all of you -- for being apart of my life and helping me get here. You're the best!

Off topic: I'm not sure if anyone remembers this but, when we lost all the stuff when our hard drive went missing,I know I complained about losing a picture of my grandfather and how if I could have one thing from that hard, it would be that picture; today I was helping my mom switch to my brother's old phone since hers was messing up and I noticed she had the picture on her phone!! I about cried because I was so happy to see it. Haha.
Also, speaking of phones, I finally ordered a new one with the Christmas money I got! Woooo!!
