I have spent the past three days trying to get the sims loaded and running and finally tonight after I just started my sim at her new house, I went to save and quit...I got an error code saying it cant save..so I had to quit and not save.
Never heard of this...I have no idea what I am going to do if I cant at least play this for the next however long it is going to take me. This is really a hard thing for me and I will try to keep my whining at a low for everyone. I really would feel better if I could play though.

Was it an error code 12? I know I had the problem for a while and I found a solution through google but now I can't remember what it was. Could you try playing without some of the EPs and see if that helps? Sorry you are having so much trouble.

And for us using that toilet, it is extra fun, as you get so irritated that nothing can stop the sims from watching it clean itself thoroughly! (Still like it though, and the muzak it provides.)

Error 12 usually occurs when your puter has used up its memory playing the game...at least I think that is the basic explanation. I am not a puter genius. When I started reloading my sims stuff after the hard drive crash. I found I got no error codes playing the game until I had really loaded most of my store content. There are a couple of places you can go to figure out more about errors. Crinrict site is really good for lots of stuff. http://sims3.crinrict.com/en/welcome and you can google the error if it wasn't an error 12 and pull up more sites and info.

Oh @Pixieydust, I am so sorry to hear the diagnosis on your computer : ( I feel terrible that you are having trouble playing your game. Have you tried what @frozenorangejuic suggested and eliminate some of your eps? I know it's not the same, but it's better than not playing at all. Hopefully some of the sites @bekkasan suggested will have answers for you...wishing you luck and sending you positive vibes!!

Sometimes this game is a hateful, hateful thing...
Nrass Errortrap can help with a lot of the save game corruptions. They virtually disappeared when I added the mod to my game. The other thing that helps is to always Save As instead of Save and rename the file. What I do is use the name of the main sim (or the family's last name) and a number. The first save would be "Angelica 1", then the next Save As is "Angelica 2". I use Nrass Saver to save every 30 minutes. I've had too many issues and lost hours of play, so I am now a paranoid saver.
To keep from having too many back-up saves, I go through about every third or fourth time I play and delete the oldest saves. That can be done in-game at the window where you choose which save to load, or they can be deleted right out of the saved games folder.
