CC? Mods? HELP

I'm new to the details of CC or mods. I started with the Sims 3, but while using CC in the Sims 3, it seemed easy just by clicking the dress or sim that I liked and downloading to the launcher, which then downloaded to my game. Is there a special way to do CC now for the Sims 4? Someone please help, and leave a detailed step-by-step. Thanks

That worked in TS3 so long as you had CC in .sims3pack format. There were also mods in .package format, which you just had to drop in a mods folder and they would work in your game.

There's no Sims4pack format yet (next week, who knows? Nothing's been said). But for the demo, you can just drop files with the .package extension in this folder: Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 Create A Sim Demo\Mods . They'll work in the game.

Some CC comes compressed, in .zip, .rar, or .7z format... for those items you'll have to extract the .package file before the game will recognize it.
