Stupid question regarding patterns

I hate to ask this, as my stupidity will be greatly highlighted. :) What exactly are the patterns in the exchange for? I have downloaded LOTS, but don't seem to see them in the game. What am I not getting? Thank you in advance.

They are patterns you can apply In Create A Style to any object in game. You should be able to easily tell which are the custom patterns because they will have a little red star icon in the bottom right corner. They might show up in a different category than you are expecting, so check all the categories. Also click the star icon in the top right of the CAST window to show only custom content.

EDIT: You did remember to install them after downloading didn't you?
