I know of ways to increase your chances..
Listen to the kids channel radio, and TV.. and the fertility bonus..
I wrote a blog post on this if yo uwant to look at it as well as increasing chances for genders.

Both things that the person above me posted seem to work.
There is also a 'fertility treatment' option in the rewards that seems to work well.
