    Help! Minimum Requirements for game & demo set too high? (video card error)

    This is the error I get when I try to play the demo on my desk top:
    Unable to start:

    Can't run The Sims 4 with the video card in this system. Please check that the video card meets the minimum specifications and that the latest video drivers are installed.

      I just researched the card and saw that it's pretty low end, only just being able to run games such as crysis 2 and skyrim.

      the biggest issue i take from your systme report is that your card drivers are out of date. update the drivers and reboot and test the demo

      yes your card is an entry level and three generations behind but if it can run sims 3 you should be able to run the demo, especially since its higher ranked card the posted minimum

      but heres the thing your processor is first generation i core so its possible it would make better sense to replace system vs adding a new card. but the thing to do is google your model and see what card upgrades people have added. its based on your motherboard. also if you get a new card you will need to replace power supply

      I would suggest my card, the nvidia GT 630. It runs the sims 4 demo at a smooth 60fps. The card is also very small and cheap. (Less than £50)

      Just make sure your computer case can hold a Dual-width graphics card and you should be good to go. Your computer should be able to, most graphics cards are dual width. If it fits, your good to go.


      If your looking for something that is completely overkill and will run sims 4 on ultra without any pressure put on the card, get a nvidia GTX Titan or a nvidia GTX 780 ti, but you will need to upgrade everything to use them.

      Don't bother asking dell unless you can't find out if your computer case is dual width or not.

      Your computer will be fully capable of running a nvidia GT 630, and it can free up 100 watts on your power supply, seeing as the minimum watts required is only 300w for the GT 630, but 400w for your current card.

      And the processor could use a improvement, but it should be fine.
      Also, if your going for a 64 bit operating system, go with windows 7, its better than 8. Only use windows 8 if you know how to put it's 128 bit version to use.

      @rawla if you can you may want to wait I heard from crinrict EA will announce recommended specs soon.

      As for you selection I suggest higher processing power so I wouldn't consider Amd A series. If you are interested in Amd processors look for fx series like fx 6300 or higher

      No worries specs are challenging for everyone at first :) what's your budget and what other demanding programs do you run besides sims
