@BuildnShare Hi, it's been awhile since I've submitted an entry for a round, but I love small builds and couldn't resist giving this a go. I'm absolutely loving all the entries submitted so far! \o/ Great job! I have a question though...
I'm assuming the answer is, 'no, they don't count because they're outside', but, do decks, porches and custom made roofs count toward the 50 tile limit? I think I'm good on the interior living space, it's one floor and 48 tiles, but I also have two porches and a side deck with an attached pool and a custom made plant trellis roof above the deck on the build.
I'm not so concerned about the porches, but the custom roof I made with the deck tool and fencing so it shows as a second floor when it really is not. Thanks!
The 50 tile limit is just on the interior space - go wild on the outside! We love to see how you creatively provide more living space for your sims
The 50 tile limit is just on the interior space - go wild on the outside! We love to see how you creatively provide more living space for your sims
Okay, cool! That's what I thought, but wanted to make sure. Thanks so much!
Now I just need to figure out what to do about the double bed. I have the same problem you have/had @EmmaVane o.O This build began as a project for the Tiny Home Challenge and it was meant for one Sim so it didn't matter if the bed was snug against the wall. But now, the Franklins need to be able to er, 'use' that bed for more than sleeping... I'm a bit stumped on how to manage it though since I only have 2 extra tiles to work with at the moment. lol I'm determined to figure it out though!
@Karababy52 and @Emmavane my double bed cure is going down a level and having a room just for the bedroom. Stinks but the only way I have been able to do it.

I decided to go for a modern twist on a cottage. I used natural materials (stone/wood/wicker/leather etc), but modern cladding and furniture styles, as well as a modern twist on the roof. I chose monochrome (black/white/grey) and deep blue as the colours, and carried this throughout.

I decided that Julie likes monochrome, while Taylor like blue and white, so they matched their house to their favourite colours. I've started on the basis that Julie is a strong and curvy country girl who loves to garden and cook for Taylor. That's a great suggestion @mommataurus2, but for this round there is a limit of 50 tiles on all levels combined, not each level can have 50 tiles. As it stands now, I only have 2 extra tiles so I have to fiddle around with my existing floor plan to make it work. Thanks anyway! *Hugs*
@BuildnShare
Re; Think Tiny BNS#26
"Interior floor space can be no more than 50 squares total."
This is for all levels combined? Or just the base footprint of the house?
All levels combined! So you can divide them up on different floors/levels, or keep it 1 level. What ever you want, but max 50 tiles
Update Edit - Yay! I've never been this happy from making a mistake, ever. lol I went back in game to fiddle around and realized that I had accidentally included the front porch when counting tiles. D'oh! o.O I actually had only used 36 interior tiles! It's all good now where the bed is concerned, the Franklins can Woo Hoo themselves silly if they so desire. Now I can concentrate on finishing up decorating/designing the rest of the house later today/tonight. Have a great day/night y'all, I've got a hot date with my pillow. Ciao!
Argh... Had issues with being able to sleep in the bed, but not WooHoo... Rearanged bedroom several different ways... Ended up putting it back how it was with the bed moved slightly. Needs 1.5 tiles between bottom of bed and dresser, it seems, even though I only need 0.5 tile elsewhere.
Also... Playtesting with 2 sims... I usually play single sims. I don't like it
Ah rats. I didn't think of that. I have the bed against a wall. Ehm, @BuildnShare , do they absolutely have to be able to woohoo in the bed? I have a hot tub on the lot too.....

I read that the business career can be stressful in the beginning, so I thought he'd need somewhere to chill out. The incense helps Julie a lot for gardening and fishing skill gains there too. It's also something that fits the modern style, because the birdbath I had there originally looked out of place.
That's actually only the 3rd and 4th slideshows I've ever made. The animated polaroid collages/slides on the sims one... That's the first time I've used that feature, it's more confusing. I assume it's 1 entry per person right? I only ask because I made 2, since I wasn't 100% pleased with the shape of the first, lol.
I don't think we've ever had a double entry before! We'll be happy to give feedback on both builds, but you can only "place" once in your category
