Code to resize pictures?

«1
Anyone know the new code for resizing picture in these new forums? The old one doesn't work.

I have a bunch of differently sized images in the various index posts for my threads and I don't fancy reuploading them a bunch of times to photobucket to get the different sizes.

Thanks.

From what I've seen, the new forum will automatically resize images to fit your browser window size. If that's the case, then it's better, means less work for us. :)

That is good news, Zenith - thanks for the info. But I want to be able to make the images smaller, so I can create indexes of thumbnails.

    Example: http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/643057.page#10222827

Nope the old code doesn't work and yes I tried several ways. Although, I have to admit I haven't read any info about the new Vanilla Forums.

Thanks for confirming, blu. Do you think they'll replace it with something?

I'd really like to be able to resize pictures without having to upload different sized versions to photobucket.

I'm not sure if anything is going to be changed or not. You do know you can set a default size limit on Photobucket for all your uploaded photos, right? ;)

Thanks, yes, I know from last time when you kindly showed me how to do it!

I just like to be able to post her in multiple sizes (like a smaller one for creating an index, for example), without having to upload multiple copies.

Ahhh I understand what you mean. I thought I gave instructions on the old forum but I couldn't remember to who. ;)

Yes, it was me! I got confused by the new UI and never knew how to do it until you showed me :)

A lot of the time I still prefer to be able to enter the code though, so that I don't need to know what size I'll need the pictures to be before I upload them.

Yeah I tried that way as well and it didn't work. :(

Ah, I see what you mean @GreenCats I thought BB code might work but the example I've seen doesn't seem to. It might be that they have some features disabled and / or are still tweaking them (I've been admin on several forums, so I know it can be a slow process).

I'm sure there'll be a way eventually. :) Does photobucket not allow you to specify the size when you're copying the code from them?

I hope it is added soon, Zenith :)

No, you can only specific size on upload so far as I'm aware.

You're right, they don't specify sizes exactly, but you can copy the url to the image thumb instead of the bigger image.

    Here's a test of that..

    Too small?

It's easier to get the images to resize from Flickr though posting them here is a bit more awkward now and I'll likely be using NotePad to get the posts ready.I get into Flickr and select a picture from my photostream and display it.I open the download menu and select view all sizes to get the all sizes preview screen and select the size I want to post here.I right click and select copy image location and paste it here and surround it with the image tags though I have to type those in manually.
I put in image location code and what I got is below with the picture showing. It's Gibsons Public Beach in the picture.

I realize this is thread necromancy, but this is driving me nuts. I host my own pictures, and I don't want to have to save out a smaller version of every screenshot I'd like to use in a post.

The answer was on the first page. Pictures are resized automatically o fit your browser.

Go to the first page to see the picture there. Then resize your browser window to make it much smaller. The picture is resized smaller to fit.
