A word of warning about teens -- mine bought something off a mannequin, but didn't twirl around and change into it, and it's not in her wardrobe. I'm hoping they'll change that in the next patch.
I have time.
I am not playing teens until we get toddlers.
I like how Melonie was the Medical Assistant in your game. :P In my game, my Doctor Sim's clone (made with the cloning machine) was the assistant for a few days.

Yeah, I like those two together. They are a nice contrast.
I am wondering how long they will work together. I will eventually have to play Melonie. I am sure that will change everything.
Gamma Vreen
Gamma is my latest sim.
I wasn't about to wait for a sim to be abducted and have and alien child, or go around trying to find any aliens living in disguise as human sims. I made Gamma in CAS. I sent her to the park, hoping she would meet some of my sims there.
None of my sims were in the park, so I had here interact with this townie.
The townie was very sad, so I had Gamma cheer her up.
I then set about using those alien powers to find out more about her.
This tipped her off that Gamma is an alien.
We can fix that--memory erased.
Ok, we can't go around just mind zapping other sims. We also can't only do repetitively.
A sim gets a Low Powers moodlet after every use that lasts two hours. That is so limiting.
I really want her to meet my other sims. We will have to try another community lot.
I must be getting use to the graphics. This looks nice. The grass replacements have helped a lot and I am getting used to the trees. But those clouds... never.
We tried the club, but none of my other sims were there. Nora Pope was the mixologist. I see her everywhere.
I got her a job as a scientist. She needs access to the latest human science technology and tools.
She will also have Ling as a coworker. Unfortunately, Ling was not here.
So I rotated over to Ling and found this.
Just looking at her makes me itchy. It's too bad they can't visit the hospital to be treated. I ordered her some medicine on the computer.
I then gathered up the crew and sent them all out to PURE. Relationships fall so quickly in this game. I needed to reconnect.
With Ling's Luck, Gamma happened to be there.
It wasn't long before they had a friendship going.
I decided to focus on these two and had Ling buy her a drink.
It's really nice to have a decent bar/club content in the base game, but I hope they flesh it out with another expansion. It doesn't feel as complete as Night Life, or Late Night/Showtime.
Her back-story?
I think she is stranded here and she is using the science career to create a way to get back home.
It has plot-holes, but I'm going with it.
Gamma sort of looks like Olivia. I had better not give her this hair.
Oh, there is some drama going on between Riya and Cairo.
Is there a love triangle that I don't know about?
She certainly shot him down. He lost his swagger.
That's enough for tonight. They are tired, and Michelle should have went to the rest room before leaving.
Uh oh, Monique has the same virus Ling had.
This worked out well. Gamma can now be part of the group.
I like her having odd makeup. It's like she doesn't know what to do with it, or have her alien ideas of how it should be used.
Status Update
It's the weekend, or the end of the weekend anyway.
And that means catching up on the weeks custom content. I have a ton bookmarked still, but I tried out some I thought was interesting.
Ohhhh, Melonie!
I like a lot of outdoor retreats hairstyles, and looking at the textures, I think I can use them, but I still download any re-textures that are more like my collection of custom hair.
But this is more like Mel's old TS3 hair style as far as form goes. The texture is leagues better.
It has a flip though.
Other CCs are a freckly blush, flesh colored lip-gloss and new eyeshadow.
I like what just a touch of skin detail does. Just a hint, otherwise it gets dried out looking.
Of course she's going to look all freaky in the game when her face starts stretching in all directions.
Outdoor Retreat
I wasn't done with having this group bond. I had not tried Outdoor Retreat and now seemed a good time.
No one else seemed very enthused about it. I guess they aren't the camping types.
Except for Gamma, she jumped right in.
"Be kind and considerate to your fellow campers and the park, young lady. I will have my eye on you."
Humph! That was rude!
Well, he does have Michelle pegged, but he shouldn't judge.
So many sims... I don't know what to do first.
It looks like they are deciding for me.
[...]
"Get away ya little blood suckers!"
"We don't have mosquitoes on my plan... uh, my... plants"
Nice save, Gamma.
Someone is getting a little too relaxed around here.
Need levels were low for several sims, while the others were left to do whatever they wanted.
There are quite a few beds here, but not enough for this bunch. I decided to send Ling out for equipment and supplies.
I sent Monique, Gamma, and Cedrik with her.
She left them around the bend and ran to the supply depot.
[Withholds commentary about Ling's posterior]
This place is tiny, but as long we the get the supplies...
[Reconsiders commentary about Ling's posterior, but decides silence is the better part of lechery]
"Yaahhh!"
Gamma nearly burned that human skin off when she threw a log on the fire.
Since she went to the trouble of starting the fire we might as well take advantage of it.
Hmm... Cedrik looks...uncomfortable.
Is it my imagination, or does he look uncomfortable about Gamma?
What? What was that for?
Does he know that she is an alien?
Or is it simply that marshmallows freak him out? He might hate camping.
I did leave them alone when I sent Ling off to the supply depot.
Did I miss something?
Hey, where are you going?
He's Leaving! Not just this area, but Granite Falls entirely.
Well, fine! Go!
They will tell you how much fun they had on this camp-out and you will wished you had stayed.
That was weird.
Outdoor Retreat, continued
We arrive back at the main camp after buying supplies.
Melonie was having a go at a game of horse shoes.
That last throw wasn't bad.
Okay, that was bad.
Unfortunately Melonie was my last remaining guest. Cairo and Gamma mush have slipped out the front door while Melonie was playing. All I have left is her and my main household.
Perhaps I should get rid of the radio. Sims like to dance too much.
Michelle is feeling ill and it shows in her dancing.
Later in the evening, Melonie walks out.
It's a good thing I followed her because I would have had no idea of what she was up to.
She came way out here to use the park toilet.
There are several bathrooms back at the cabin, yet she comes way out here.
Smarter Sims.
Oh great, now she is going to spend the night out here.
I sent Vaughn out to retrieve her.
Wake up, Melonie.
Not to get her back to the house.
I have just the thing.
She can't resist a game of horse shoes.
Vaughn has done his job, now he has to get some sleep. I have no control over Melonie.
She decides to go to bed. I was hoping that all my guests would stay the night, the whole two days, really.
That kind of ruins the whole experience to have them bail out so early
.
Melonie leaves as soon as she gets out of bed.
I did not do a good job at living the camping experience. I think it will be better the next time. I noticed the option to have them go hiking. so I sent them out.
It's too bad they don't do it as a group.
I really love my replacement grass. It looks especially nice in Granite Falls.
Ling was looking a bit pudgy, so I had her jog.
I decided to pull the plug on this vacation. Ling was the last to leave and I had her turn off the lights, so to speak.
I will be back, because I did see herbal ingredients all about. I want one of my sims to be an herbalist.
It was nice to get away for a while.
I was still thinking about Cedrik's reaction back at the park and decided I wanted to go back to Gamma's house.
The first thing I had her do was call up Cedrik and invite him over.
Melonie decided to drop by as well.
I wanted to see if he would have that mysterious reaction to her again.
So I had them chat and looked for any special socials.
Nothing. That was a little disappointing. I was hoping there was a little more depth going on here.
Oh well, thanks for dropping by.
Always nice to see Mel'.
I probably should go check out his traits. I can't remember what they are.
She's all alone now. She's free to be herself.
She can let her hair down... up? Out...? Away?
I like giving my aliens hair. I don't like creative decisions taken away from me.
Bad call, EA.
@CK213 I've just spent a good 2 hours going through this thread( so worth it!) and I'm loving every single bit.
I feel the same way about the aliens I feel like my creativity was ripped away from me and because of this I haven't done anything with the aliens.

Yeah, they are a bit of a disappointment.
They seem very cool on the surface, but I wish there was more to them.
I'll have more on that in my next picture post.
Hi! I don't have the GTW or the OR yet, so I enjoyed all your pics very much, thanks for sharing! The thing I really would like from the GTW EP is the photos. Adds so much to make them personal, that being portraits or just themes matching a sim's interests.

I really needed those two packs. I don't feel like playing the game without toddlers and I don't like the old looking teens. Family play is pretty much out for me. GTW and OR has given me more to do. I like putting photographs on my sims wall also. It adds a little more meaning an immersion to their lives.
Riya Ramaswami
Back to Granite Falls so soon?
Yes. I promised myself to play Riya.
I decided that she will be my herbalist and run a herbal remedy shop.
There is no coincidence in the name; I consider her a branch on Priya Ramaswami's family tree.
She is out here alone which presents a problem.
Riya's social need drops fast. She had to sit down and make some phone calls.
I had her collect some plants and insects in the surrounding area and brew up some herbal remedies to increase her skill.
She is roughing it instead of renting a cabin.
She is a hardcore herbalist.
Dusty Spirits. They looked so familiar to me, and then I realized where I have seen them before. They were in an anime called Spirited Away.
Well we certainly have to collect those.
I sent her exploring this gave on the following day.
She found the hermit's hidden area. She promptly started gathering up collectables and then settled down for lunch.
She pretty much made herself at home until the end of her vacation.
I sent her home will all her collections so she can really skill up in remedy making.
This dragon fly is really cool.
Her skill is a lot of work. The most annoying part is finding insects. She can grow all the herbs she needs, which I had her do, but it's a lot of work to collect insects, take care of the garden and brew all the remedies she needs for her store. I decided to have Riya have Gamma move in. Perhaps I can have Gamma clone useful items to sell in Riya's new business that she plans to open.
Playing Gamma was a bit underwhelming because she is playing her role too well. I don't feel like she is an alien at all. Not from her whims, not from her behavior, only the few alien socials that feel like any sim would have in a discussion. So I found myself doing the things that did make her feel like an alien, despite them giving away her identity. I made it a rule to learn other sims traits by probing them. Otherwise she just might as well be human.
I had been playing Riya for days after her camping trip. She put on wieght during that time. Gamma has a new hairstyle here.
I was wondering how Riya would react to discovering her roommate is an alien.
I got a pop-up saying that her identity as an alien was revealed, and Riya had her pegged as an alien in her profile, but other than that, it was like it did not matter at all. No change in emotion, no whims concerning this new discovery, no behavior changes.
And then their friends started dropping by, which is fine by me. I like having them over. But why no new whims? "My roommate is an alien!" How about gossip?
Let's give Riya another zingere to erase her memory.
Of course this could tip off Ling and I might be caught in a circle of erasing memories.
She didn't notice.
Cedrik drops by, and I have Riya flirt with him.
What I did not know was Gamma already had him as a boyfriend before she moved in.
This reaction is great and what I expected from a Sims game.
But beyond that, the situation didn't really get any legs and go anywhere.
I wonder if they really had any romantic interactions or if the game just arbitrarily made them love interests.
I had Gamma counter-flirt.
It didn't get much reaction from Riya.
Gamma did get a whim to hug Cedrik, but it seemed random and not really connected to the situation. It may have if there were more whims for a stronger connection with Cedrik. She was really just getting whims connected to the emotion and not the situation and players that created the emotion.
She wanted to blog about it as a way with dealing with the emotion, while Cedrik flirted more with Riya.
I love the face palm animation.
This was neat on the surface, but not really convincing to the situation. I felt it was more about the moodlet than the situation and none of it will probably matter tomorrow.
I later had Gamma do the full alien reveal to Riya, and again it didn't really matter to whims and behavior.
They just carried on like everything was normal.
I did have fun with the probe scare mischief social.
"Still interested in my boyfriend?"
But this is only good for a few times before it gets old. And it did not come up as a whim for Gamma, which would have been really funny and satisfying to grant.
I wish Riya had a whim and a social to out Gamma to Cedric. Or a social to promise to protect her identity, that would give me some compelling game play/story choices.
Ugh, your creations have always been some of my favorites in TS3 and I'm SO glad you're still around for 4! I've been loving all these pictures as I get caught up
Not a frequent commenter but wanted to say I love following your threads! I think I've read them all and I've always loved Melonie. I know the Sims 4 isn't quite as exciting as I'd hoped for but I'm still holding out hope that they will give us more of what we want soon!
Close Encounters
Another day, another visit from a friend.
Make that plural.
Cairo and Olivia have been fooling around, and apparently Riya is jealous.
She did have a minor drama flair up with him at the dance club. I have to pay more attention to the relationships panel.
This townie was strolling by and I noticed Gamma had her as an enemy. Riya didn't like her either.
I was curious about her traits, plus I wanted to see how she reacted to Gamma being an alien.
Sims outside of the household seem to make a bigger deal out of it than sims your alien sim lives with.
She then became a bit obnoxious.
Enough of this conversation, we are going full alien and putting this townie on ice.
"Chill out!"
I forgot what her traits were. I went back to check, but she is no longer in the relationships panel. Maybe she has been culled.
That's too bad if true. She was annoying, but she seemed like an interesting character.
What?
A mail carrier?
They do exist!
Uh oh, Gamma is in a very focused mood. She is giving off a glowing aura. It's difficult to see here, but it's a bit of a teal color.
I had sent Gamma out here in hope that Riya wouldn't notice, but the first thing Riya did after finishing a task was seek Gamma out.
"Gamma! You're glowing."
[Sigh...] Oh well.
"Yeah... about the glowing...thing..."
"Sorry to do this... again, but it's for the best."
Mind zapping a sim too many times should result in random traits.
"Hi! I'm your new roommate, Gamma Vreen."
Gamma's story scenario was supposed to be that she is stranded on Earth trying to figure out a way to get back home. She's been building a rocket as well as working at the science lab.
"Huh? What...?"
So much for that scenario.
"Seriously?"
"Hey guys, you're making a mistake. I'm not human!"
"Hmm..., I wonder where Gamma went?"
A quick joy ride around the solar system with her space buddies.
Apparently it's not as bad as the unmentionable things that happened to TS2 sims who were abducted.
"Ah, those knuckleheads."
New scenario!
Another race of aliens abducted gamma by mistake. They were only too happy to help her with the parts she needed to upgrade this primitive Earth space ship. Gamma loves that dress by the way. She feels so sexy while working with her tools.
The ship is now upgraded for wormhole travel.
She'll be back after she has guaranteed a way back home.
She made it back to the home world.
It's not new to her, but it's new to me.
It's quite pretty.
It has been so long since she had seen others of her kind.
She could drop her disguise now.
She lost track of time.
And since time continues when a sim is off the home lot...
Oops!
Back to work!
Darn it. I forgot to change her appearance back.
Well... I didn't have a choice other than not to go work, or go to work.
Switch back!
Switch back!
"Did anyone see what I...?"
"Is there some sort of program that we don't know about?"
"Nobody saw nothin'!"
"But..."
"Nothin'!"
Gamma is going to have to erase more memories.
Back at home, Riya's subconscious mind is much more aware than her conscious mind. She painted an alien abduction painting.
Ugh, your creations have always been some of my favorites in TS3 and I'm SO glad you're still around for 4! I've been loving all these pictures as I get caught up
Still around. I am on the biggest TS3 break ever as I mess around with TS4.
It is going to be so weird to go back to TS3. I will eventually.
Not a frequent commenter but wanted to say I love following your threads! I think I've read them all and I've always loved Melonie. I know the Sims 4 isn't quite as exciting as I'd hoped for but I'm still holding out hope that they will give us more of what we want soon!
I am holding out hope too. They have been chipping at it with patches. Get To Work and Outdoor Retreat has helped, but I am expecting a much better game by the 3rd EP. That should be enough time to add in the major requests and feedback from simmers. I made a list earlier and some of the wants have already been addressed, but toddlers, reworked teens, bigger lots, more lots, more creative control, and new worlds are still hot buttons for me. I also want more depth to the social AI.
CK i think aliens can have hair i made one from scratch in CAS an i could put hair on her! side note tho im not satisfied with my alien can i upload Gamma to my game????

Yes, I wrote this before EA patched that new feature in.
I'm glad EA listened to us and allowed us creative freedom with our aliens.

Thanks for commenting. It makes this thread a little less lonely.
It also helps reduce the amount of pictures per page.
She's too realistic for her world.
But I don't care, we will have fun in it anyway. Right?
Please don't grin like that.
Thanks.
We are really evolving here. Mel' has changed since I first made her.

It doesn't matter really.
We just go on as it doesn't come to much.
Oh well, let's clean slate her brain.
"Ha, what was I saying? I can't remember."
Still around. I am on the biggest TS3 break ever as I mess around with TS4.
It is going to be so weird to go back to TS3. I will eventually.

Hi, and thanks for commenting.
Yes, I wrote this before EA patched that new feature in.
I'm glad EA listened to us and allowed us creative freedom with our aliens.
