Does anyone know if time stays consistent?

I've been playing a lot of the Sims 2 lately. I had forgotten that when I left my home lot at 10am to visit a community lot, no matter how long I stayed on the community lot when I returned home it was 10am again. Since we are back to walking off the edge of the lot and loading screens again, does anyone know if this will happen?

    I'm pretty sure time stays consistent but the problem, IMO, with that is if say the sim mom and her children are going out somewhere what happens to the sim dad who's off God-knows-where? Do we switch screens and endure the loading? Do we just hope nothing bad happens on his end?

    LOL! I have no idea. But with aging as the only type story progression available I can't imaging anything major happening.

    On loading screens:

    Yes = loading screen
    No = no loading screen

    • World to World: Yes

    • Neighborhood to Neighborhood: Yes

    • Lot to Lot: Yes

    • Switching between Sims on two different lots: Yes

    • Public Space to non-active lot: Yes

    • Public Space to active lot (and vice versa): No

    Info on traveling is also in that post.

    That still doesn't answer the question about time. In TS2 when I leave my lot, time freezes at the moment I leave. As in the example let's say 10 am. I can travel to a community area and stay there all day. I could leave at 9 pm but when I re-enter my home lot after the loading screen, it's back to the 10 am time when I originally left.

    Is this going to happen again?

    Time continues as usual. Not like TS2. This is why you can switch back and forth between playable sims in different parts of the world. Time continues in all the neighborhoods fluently. If I can find a link, I will share it.

    I also found this here.:
    What’s interesting is that Maxis states you will be able to send Sims out into the world, and either follow them or control them using “away actions”. These will let you “choose other specific Sims for them to socialise with, you can build specific skills, can sleep, can have them maintain their needs… things like careers have their own set of away actions that are more relevant to their work”.
