What Do You Like About the Sims?

Not necessarily The Sims 4, but the series as a whole. If someone who had somehow never played a Sims game before asked you: Why do you play the game? What appeals to you?

What would you say?

Personally, I have always loved the character creation aspect of any video game. The more I can customize my character the better. In the Sims, I can make multiple characters (TS4's CAS is the main thing I'm super excited about!) and play as them, watching their stories unfold just as I planned it (or sometimes not quite as I'd planned!). But I feel like the Sims has always had really fun townies and NPCs as well. If I wanted to play as a pre-made family, I felt safe knowing I'd have fun! I could tell their story that was given to them, or go completely off course!

I've also always liked the worlds that just about any Sims series was set in. From Pleasantview to Sunset Valley...to whatever city it is you hung about in the Sims Bustin' Out for GBA! Specific buildings and architecture unique to each town really made every experience feel special. :)

Really, there are a lot of reasons I play the Sims, but I think those two things are the main reason I keep coming back for more!~

What about you? Why do you play the Sims?

    I will make it short.

The Sims is the only game that I play it the way I want to play. In my own way. Unlike most of other games where you are bound to certain rules or goals.

The Sims is a never ending game. It has no end. It does not finish.

Both The Sims and Simcity has these two features but The Sims is more open and more free
Everything I post is an opinion here and I think every post of others is as well.

They are like vertual dolls, and making stories is my favorite thing. The more freedom I have in the game the better. Needs and challenges just get in my way so I turn that off, I have master controller so I can vary what skill levels I want them to have instead of having to make them do the same thing over and over. I love the creativity, and my favorite worlds are Beach City, Arendale, Glenvale County. I've built houses and I love colorful wallpapers, and making things match.

I think one of the biggest parts of the series that is what people really come to love it for is the humour of it. i know a lot more people who play it to create wacky families and silly stories than more of the serious players. sims wouldn't be the sims if absolutely ridiculous things never happened.

I love that it's a little private space. In all ways. The way that if can do anything to this world , the sims, the houses, whatever I want! I can change almost anything. I love watching how genetics are passed down from one generation to the next. I love all the options of things I can do with my sims. Even if I've played everything in the game. It can still feel fresh if I haven't done it in a while since it's never exactly the same. I love all the cc and mods available, so its customization is immense. In sims 3 I loved the open world. I could travel anywhere, and time would still progress. I love making sims and building homes.

I like genetics. Having two sims have a baby and seeing how the baby will turn out. What they'll look like, if they'll inherit traits. Further down the family tree when a baby comes out with some genes from a grandparent or something. I always found that really cool.

I love that I can play the game how i want to play it. There's no real leveling up (except with skills and careers), there's no timers to finish stuff in a certain amount of time, and there's no number of lives. I can create stuff how i want to and play the way how I want to without being forced to play a certain way.

As for the sims 3 I love that I can not only create sims and do what I want with them but I can also change the style of objects, clothing, doors, windows, and walls. I can also build stuff how I want to and have an open world to explore at my leisure.
Nobody does it better, Steve Jobs you simply are the best RIP 10-5-11
