I forgot how hard it is to take care of TS2 Sims' needs! I mean, one meal doesn't even fill them up and they have to shower almost every time they return from work! xD I'm having a blast though!

I haven't gotten around to playing with the lovely Goths or Calientes again (my favorite Sims 2 families, though I also loved the Goths in TS1 ;p ).

When I get around to it though I'll probably do the same old song and dance and have Cassandra marry Don, change his Aspiration so he won't be such a lothario, then make old Morty marry Dina and have Nina move in also. I'll probably have to make adult Alexander live in the attic though if Nina moves in xD

I'll also probably get Dina a little dog (I've always seen her as very Paris Hilton-like and Paris never went anywhere without her little chihuahua!)

Thank you so much for creating this thread!! :) I have the Ultimate Collection installed, but being the CC Addict I am.. need to get some mods and custom content installed first before I start playing.

I lovedd the BAC (Build A City) Challenge from Sims 2. So, I definitely want to do that; and I really hope that Sims 4 will allow us to be able to create that challenge again.. (Ehem. Please release a Sims 4 Open For Business version...with more content/more options, of course than the Sims 2 one.. but yeah..)

I'm really unsure what sites are still working and available with CC or even mods for Sims 2. I decided to make a small post with some CC and mods that I remember.

Sorry if any of these have been mentioned before.

    *MODS*

Definitely get ACR (here) (Oh. How I missed this mod.) It's just like Woohooer. I can't remember all it's features. But it definitely seems that the Sims 2 Sims will do more romantic interactions among each other than my Sims 3 mod did. ACR has a chance for your Sims autonomously try for a baby without you doing so; and also.. I believe this is the most up-to-date version of ACR and the final one as well.

ACR!! I love that mod. Thankfully even though I didn't have the game installed on my computer anymore, I managed to save all my CC and mods so I just dropped the folder in and started playing. ACR was one of those. I couldn't play without my CC, lol.

I know right? It's soo great. :) I love that my Sims would do things without me doing anything. It's nice to have a more 'surprised' pregnancy, or even a surprise romance.. instead of always "Try for baby". Although I know Try for Baby has a 'chance' to get your Sim pregnant... it's still nice to have that  moment. lol

OH! Just remembered two other mods:

I, still to this day, dislike how Female Sims cannot get pregnant by abduction. :( They actually *can* have kids, yet.. this is impossible. (Another Sims 4 wish. sorry.)

If anyone is interested in this mod, it's available here. It's hard to figure out the ones that are the most updated. Sorry, if this is not.. but I think it is.

Your very welcome! I just thought it was needed, since people are getting back into the game, there needs to be a place to share your experiences (and so we don't clutter the forum, and Sims 3 discussions can take place as well  )

Great to read all of the things/games your are playing!

For me, I just got my game set up yesterday, so it is ready to play! Yay!:lol:

    Thanks Guys!

Aw. So nice to see another CC Addict. Hehe. All aboard the Addiction Train. D: *chugga chugga*

Glad you enjoyed my post. :) And thank you so much for sharing those Sims 2 tumblrs. <3 Definitely have to take a quick peek at them. :)

Also. Bodyshop is a program that we wanted for Sims 3 for a long time. It's basically Create-A-Sim BUT its OUTSIDE of the game. Meaning you can "load it up", and it is its own program. Where you can create Sims, or even create custom clothing, hair, eyes, skins and makeup(If I remember correctly) and when you create a Sim. You can Export your Sim to your computer to upload at like Mediafire, or some other hosting place. Or just save it for if you lose your Sim, or its corrupt or whatever.

You *COULD* also upload it to the Sims 2 Exchange. Until the website was taken down.

Basically the Sims 2 bodyshop was better than TS2's Create-A-Sim because.. it has way more sliders/options to create Sims. To make them more unique, etc. :)

Sorry for the long explanation. :(

Ah thank you for that description! I'm new to The Sims 2 so this is an all new experience to me hehe

So after you've created this sim in Body Shop, you can play them in your game right?

I also think The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection came with Body Shop if I'm not mistaken.

You're welcome. :) The Sims 2 is a great edition to the series. :) Hope you have fun with it. :) Also yes, you can play with the Sim you created in Bodyshop. You have to load up the Sims 2 game and then go into Create-A-Sim; click on the Sim bin and find your Sim. then you make adjustments, aspirations, relationships, etc.. and click the check mark to play. :) Yes, the Sims 2 bodyshop came with the UC.

@Seera1024 I thought there was that baby thing (simmodder?) in there for changing ltw's with if you use boolprop tce? Am I mistaken? Or is that broken in the coding now?

Oh yea, that is there. I haven't used the non-mod way in years. But you still can't choose the LTW with that.

Sim Modder is an option if you shift click a Sim while having boolprop testingcheatsenabled set to true. The testing cheats cheat needs the boolprop at the front now.

You can't chose, per say, but you can randomize it over and over again until you get one you want. I only remember this because I played that one long after ts3 was released, so it's still kinda fresh in my brain. About as fresh as 3 year old stuff can be at my age though. I just vaguely remembered it, then looked it up this morning. ;) Thanks for getting back to me. :)

Correct. It is the only place to easily create Sims to use in multiple neighborhoods.

However, it was not updated that frequently. You can't put Bon Voyage jewelry on Sims in Body Shop but you can in game.

I have a fair amount of CC for Sims 2. I clicked load on it at 4:48 pm. It had fully loaded at 4:53 pm. I have an i7 processor which is at 3.4 GHz and 6 GB or RAM with Windows 7.

If your computer isn't all that great or you have a TON of CC for Sims Body Shop can take forever and a day to load.

The loading screen for Body Shop does not pop up right away. So don't panic if it doesn't load up. It took my old computer 30 minutes to load up the initial loading screen! But it had a not so great processor and under 1.25 GB of RAM and falling (Windows XP and a dying 1 GB RAM stick). So it was probably at an extreme end of loading times.

There is no sorting in Body Shop. So if you want to modify a Sim you previously created or downloaded. Have fun. By the way, the game occasionally puts the wrong thumbnail up.

Unless EA spent time updating it of course. You also can't add Bon Voyage Jewelry to Sims in Body Shop.

I tended to dread going into Body Shop. But most of Sims 2 experience was spent on my old desktop that took forever and a day to load Body Shop.

Are you all running TS2 UC on windows 8 :)? Whenever I enter CAS or try choosing a family, it comes up with an error message saying that mansion and garden stuff is not working and the application is being terminated? Could anyone help me? I've tried it LOADS of times, but it just crases after about 2-3 minutes? I have a fairly good laptop that runs on windows 8, is an intel core i7 processor, 2.9ghz, 8 (or12) GB of ram, and an NVIDEA graphics card? I'm recovering from surgery and I'd love to play, pleas help <3

Out of curiousity, are you cleaning up your computer after installing. I was having this issue to, only because I always run ccleaner after I finish installing anything. What's most likely happening is your computer cleaner thingy is deleting the reg keys not attached to a .exe (the .exe's are missing from every ep and sp except for pets in TS2UC). So try installing again, this time without cleaning the registery, and if you do feel the need to, pay attention and uncheck the files related to this game. Simple enough.
    Edit for spelling.

I just backed up my game. I'm switching to using the Origin version to save my discs.

Question: How much of an internet hog is Origin when downloading? Steam thinks it is king and will take as much bandwidth as it can get hold of.

However, my brother's playing an online game right now and will be very unhappy if I cause him horrendous lag. Do I need to try to wait until no one is using the network or does Origin not try to use every bit of bandwidth it can?

It's not bad, actually. Jimmygrimmy9 was playing minecraft online, his brother watching pewdiepie and I was watching netflix while browsing these forum when I downloaded it. But I have pretty good setup right now. Had to because all the members of my house love their gadgets.

I'm so excited, I logged into my origin today and there is was! I hadn't even heard about the sims 2 being given out, and I am estatic. I'd been trying to find a copy to buy for a while, and suddenly there it is and I couldn't be happier. Download is nearly complete and I can't wait to be back in touch with the sims.

Then I'll get that going tonight. Or at least try to.

The question now becomes do I find new CC (and only grab what I can't live without and can't find from my back up) and actually have an organized downloads folder. Or just keep the same old disorganized downloads...

    Decisions, decisions XD

There are two kind of witches in the sims 2 from apartment life good witch and bad witch.

Kimberly Cordial who is a premade sim in Belladonna cove is already friends with a green witch, she and her sister Samantha stay in a house. You can have Kimberly ask her witch friend to turn her into a dark witch.

One thing I have always hated is when the green witch show up anywhere she make it rain roaches but the good witch when she appear she make it clear up very bright in the sky and a rainbow appear.

So I had Kimberly witch friend turn her into a dark witch yesterday.
