Will SimPoints Carry Over to TS4 Store?

I know that I saw a thread about this a while back, but can't seem to find it. I am planning on buying some SimPoints and the answer to my question will determine the amount that I buy. I'm concerned that the current store won't be coming out with much else, or anything after the May set (they didn't even have a featured look for April). If Simpoints will carry over into the new TS4 store (when it opens) then I will buy a larger pack. If not, I will probably just wait until the May set comes out and buy the minimum I need.

Thanks in advance

Unfortunately it's extremely unlikely the points will transfer over. That didn't happen between The Sims 2 and The Sims 3 :/

That really sucks :( and it's bad business on their end. If they guaranteed that the points would rollover, then they wouldn't have customers wary of purchasing items and would make more money :wink: *hint *hint

Actually at Gamescom chat Vaughn said they would.

Sims 2 store was different anyway as it mainly had sp stuff for individual sale for people who did not want to buy whole sps other than the baby stuff and was a new concept that only began half way thru sims 2 - so they were still figuring it out. It wasn't anything like the sims 3 store.

Really? That would be great! I played Sims 2, but never payed any attention to the store. I only know a few things that have been mentioned on these threads.

Is Vaughn a SimGuru? and what exactly is games.com? Is that a reliable source?

Actually the points did carry over from TS2 to TS3. I started out playing TS2 when TS3 came out. And when I brought TS3, the simpoints that I had for TS2 was also on the TS3 store site. I had used the same user name from TS2 on my TS3 account. If I go into my billing history on this site, I can see where I had purchased simpoints for TS2.

This is a copy of my billing history from the TS3 site minus the simpoint card numbers. As you can see that I had purchased simpoints for TS2 before I brought TS3.

Yes Ryan Vaughn is a SimGuru. And Gamescon is the gaming convention that EA had over in Germany last August where they had announced new games and showing features from those new games for EA.

Wow, that is surprisingly generous! I figured they'd make Sims 4 Store points separate to squeeze more money out of us. And I'm surprised this is the first I'm hearing of this, I thought it'd be a big deal.
