Hi all! So I was browsing the forums when a thought popped into my mind. Because so many people are hosting contests and lotteries is there a directory to keep up to date? I thought about creating one but didn't want to if there was already another one currently active.
Also, would you like a Contest/Lottery Directory to keep up to date? Let me know what you guys think
I'd also add in people's gifting thank you's if they wanted to be added.

what about the magazine that was created last year? I lost the link when getting new pc.... but they posted about contests too... I think...

If you'd like to a start a new directory, I'd suggest contacting Danger and asking her if she'd be okay with that. Even though she hasn't done anything with it in a while, she still really cares about the directory and she might be offended if a new one pops up without anyone talking to her about it.

Roxy it might be a good idea to do it togther with one or 2 people... so you have people that can make back up post when you not around... and to work with the magzine... if thats still running

I am on, almost, 24/7, and I always do a thorough check of the forums when I wake up. In other words I would be perfect for finding those tiny contests/lotteries that get pushed to the bottom. I am also on during a time you aren't, as I believe you're GMT? With our two schedules we should be able to keep track easily.
Also, if you need help with formatting and having a clean thread, I can make a layout for you that will contain sections for the different types. If you're doing it for all the threads, including thank you threads, the contest idea thread, the CYS thread, etc. I can help track those down for you.

the contests idea thread... I think it is Blyth or Klb that have that... and we are atleast some still checking it...
don't remember who have the CYS... but that seems very active...
also I say try not to mix to many things into 1... it gets very big very fast... and hard to handle + might get confusing for others to navigate.....
again I say if the magazine actually is active it might be a good idea talking to them... IF you could get a corner there you could havea page you could both update... and then link in your siggy.... or make a homepage/blog you both can edit... that might be the best solution... as it is then much esier to pas it on when needed ..... just if not here it need a link in a siggy + on the landing pad first page (but that would need chaning any way)

And I meant add them into a Misc. section for easy access, as they aren't located in any other thread for people to access. Either you track it down or ask someone who has the link. Besides, if there is a directory for Thank you Threads it will be linked, just like CYS and the other threads.
If we do add more stuff besides the contests/lotteries, it will basically be a large, but organized, directory. And as long as it is bumped and linked in our signature, people can access it to be lead to what they are searching for.
With careful organization, it shouldn't get too big. We really don't have that many threads here, we don't even have a lot of thank you threads. There's only about 20 and below that are permanent Thank You threads, the rest are new posts, so those that are new and aren't updated won't count for being linked in the thread. It's not like we're linking old contests either. That would be waaay too big of a project.
I don't really think we need to contact them, but this is up to Rita, I'm just waiting for her reply to everything.

I only went to the landing page once a few months ago just to say hi, but totally forgot that there was a helpful section! So instead of linking the other stuff, we can just put the link to the Landing pad. Now that I know that's there that even helps me!
Where's the Thank You directory though?
I think for the magazine we can just have an article stating a revival or something. Not really anything large.
ofcourse the pad will need updating if you make a thread...
and the magzine is only if you work with them... just an option....

I must admit... I don't see it being used much... people often have the link in their about me... and post directly if posible to thank people.... so thats not what I would make an prioryty.... if you understand what I'm thinking/saying.... I never ones gone there to look for thank yous.... I posted my thread yes but.... don't see the need for this thread beside for the advice about thank you, and that is in the landing pad in a nice and clear way...

yea a thread about what contest are there now... and what ideas are there is much better to prioryty (as I see it) if that is 1 or 2 threads I don't know.... I do wish more people use the idea thread (but thats becouse I want some one to adopt my ideas.... can't host it all my self)
MizoreYukii - I will send you an email about setting up the directory. As you said we have different time zones. I used to be GMT, but since the clocks a changed we now follow the BST time zone .
