Ed - just letting you know I lost my pc before I even got a chance to get back in - so never got back in game and now have no pc. I went to reboot before I started the game and my machine got a fan error - seems it was my big V-eight I had for my processor . Hubby did managed to put another fan in the V- eight casing but machine will not start so he thinks I cooked my processors. Right now I am in hubby's office on his pc just to let you know as I have no idea when I can get this fixed as hubby is also out of work right now so no income for fixing the pc.

Sorry. I was really hoping to get back in there and help you with this. Okay I can't stay on this - I am in the way while Pete works at trying to get me something to use - but I doubt what I get will be sim worthy.

Hate to leave you hanging - but nothing I can do.

No problem, Writin_Reg. I appreciate all of the help you have already given me. I am thinking that the missing tags were a temporary glitch that, at least on my computer, fixed itself when the seasons changed. As I said, I am not having any problems with it as of now. When I put this world together, I tried to keep things as simple as possible to avoid any problems I learned of in my first two worlds. It seems to have paid off!

Sorry to hear about the demise of your computer. I hope things work out and you get back on to the Sims band wagon soon. Thanks again for all of your help...and most of all, your friendship. :D

Just installed your new neighborhood. I'm on the first sim day. I downloaded your Casing household (I thought you made them for your new neighborhood) & started playing him and his horse. So far so good. Map tags were there from the start. No problems. I love this new neighborhood. I still love playing your Fort Sim.

Edited to say sorry to hear about your computer Writin_Reg. Hope hubby gets a job soon and hope you are able to get your computer fixed or get a new one.

I have now played 15 Sim days and I have not had any problems. There is no lag or crashes, no routing issues, no stuck Sims, the world is populating very quickly, and there are herds of wild horses running all over the place. I am happy to say that this world is working perfectly!!! :D

Hi Ed! I had to do a double take at the title...I already have The Wild Wild West, lol.

I think I'm going to move my lil sim and her horse to the new/old Wild Wild West as it was making her have cabin fever whenever she had to go anywhere, it always took her soooo long.

Now to dl, rec and favor your next generation Western world. Can't wait to see the wild horses running around.
In my house, dog hair sticks to everything but the dog.

Thanks, bshag4lv! Yes, The Old West was too large for foot and horse travel only. The Wild Wild West is more compact and easier to travel, even by horse, though you can travel by car if you want. There ARE a lot of horses running around! I think it is because I have so many stables(Ranch Lots), but I am not sure if that is why. I have been having several families adopt wild horses, and now I am seeing a lot of Sims riding horses all over town.

    Hi,

Just letting you know about my experience with the world....

When I was in edit town mode, there were tags. Then after I had created a household to move in? I could not see any tags or any place to put them. It all vanished. I had to click on each house till I found one that would accept them and it was all a total guess since the amount of the house didn't show up either.

Then when I went live mode, the tags were still gone.

I will try to reinstall into my testing Sims3 folder at some later date.

The world is gorgeous and I really liked what you did with the builds. It's all so authentic and just lovely.

Thanks Lucy! I had the exact same experience when I first started playing. But, after playing for a seven day summer, when it turned to fall, the tags came back. I am not sure why it did this, but everything has been running perfectly ever since. My daughter is going to install it in her game and test it for me to see if she gets the same results. I will report back here once I get more information.

I think I’m learning the layout. You know ME or should by now after all these years. I always want to redo lots and worlds! I really went nuts with one of your Homesteaders lots from the former Old West World and it’s great but now on a 40x40 space with a white picket fence in this new version. Frances Womack lives there with her horse and dog. She has a lovely view of the river from her front porch.
    <a href="http://s305.photobucket.com/user/Cameonet1950/media/Wild Wild West TS3 World by ED/Screenshot.jpg.html&quot; target="_blank"><img src="http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn232/Cameonet1950/Wild Wild West TS3 World by ED/Screenshot.jpg&quot; /></a>
    Screenshot-2.jpg

I moved my “simself” son and his dog into the Old West Farm House (dedicated to your brother David). The barn is now a garage and workshop but little was done to the inside of the house. As a sim, he’s a fireman and the closest fire house is right across the street, Fire House #2, where you’d think he’d go to work so I modified it to include amenities for his dog and space for his fire truck. But no! No fire truck and he goes to Fire House #3, next to Wolfson’s Hospital, which leads me to my problem:

Fire House #2: My modification for a fire truck but why can't I put one there? I've used all cheats that I know of and in other worlds, this sim worked on his fire truck. Also, no NPC coworkers are at this fire house when I sent him there AND when the alarm sounded he couldn’t respond.
    Screenshot-5.jpg

Fire House #3 (untouched): Where he reports for duty automatically. There are coworkers there but still no fire truck(s). I’m perplexed.
    Screenshot-4.jpg
    Screenshot-3.jpg

I wish you had a Facebook page for this. It would be SO much easier for posting pics and communicating. Just a thought. ;)

That is AWESOME Cam! You did a great job on the Homesteader house. I have been doing the same thing in my world since I started playing after the upload. I have made several changes to lots when I move new families in. I expect most people do that in order to make it the best experience for them, like me! I really enjoy seeing your pictures and explaining what is happening, it gives me great ideas for adding to my game.

I have had the same experience with my Fire Houses. I have noticed in my game that they tend to move around from one Fire House to another. But, the first one that I laid down by the hospital tends to be their favorite. I have been having my fireman Sim upgrade the fire alarms at each station and that's when he seems to move, but I have not played him long enough to be able to say.

Sorry about not having a Facebook page, but I don't due to my RL work.

I have played through all four seasons (30 days total) and have not experienced any problems. Everything is running very smoothly without any lag. I have not been having any problems with the tags not showing. My daughter is still testing it to see if she has a tag problem. She has been very busy with her job and has not had a lot of time to play, though. She said she will play more this weekend.

Okay, my daughter's game did the same thing that my game did. After a season change she said that her tags showed up and that everything is now working perfectly. Don't know what causes this minor glitch, but it is nothing more than a brief nuisance. :?

Hi Ed! I don’t know if you ever check back here especially since you are most likely still hurting from your accident. I did write a rather long comment on your page about it. You poor dude!

Anyway, I’m still playing *The Wild Wild West* and still have the question about The Woo Woo 4000 fire-truck. I can’t FIND it to place in any of your fire stations using these cheats while in the lots’ build/buy modes:
    testingcheatsenabled true
    buydebug

    What am I missing?

Here is the truck in a new Sunset Valley game at its Community Fire Department. Using the cheats above I can copy it to/for this lot but that’s the extent of it. I can’t find it in catalog categories when in other lots:
    Screenshot.jpg
Here’s another view of the fire station in the NEW game. I thought it was interesting to note the illogical placement it:
    Screenshot-4.jpg

I also posted a request for help in “General Discussion” on the forum and hope to receive some feedback soon. In the meantime, I’m playing it.

    Take care hon! Cameo

Yay! I got the answer. See >>>>?

After Austin Awesome put out a small fire while on duty, the truck magically appeared inside the fire station on the long parking spot when he returned:
    Screenshot-2.jpg

So I copied the lot even with him still there and replaced the other fire station with it where the truck obediently followed right along:
    Screenshot-3.jpg

I LOVE this town! Thanks again for making it! Hope you are feeling better.

    Hey Cam,

I am glad the firetruck worked out for you. I was going to reply earlier to your post but I was on my iphone when I read it and planned on answering when I could get to a computer, which didn't happen until now.

I was going to say that the fire truck will appear automatically when your fireman is summoned to a fire. If you do not have a parking space for it on the firehouse lot, it will just disappear and reappear as needed without parking. If you add a parking space, like you did, after the first fire it would appear in the parking space. Of course, you found all of this out on your own, so my answer is basically moot.

I am so glad that you are enjoying it. I have been having a lot of fun with it too, but I can only play for a short period of time because of the shoulder pain. Hopefully when I can stop wearing the arm imobilizer in 3 weeks, and I start physical therapy, I will be able to play longer.

Hey Cowboy! Sorry for the late reply: I didn’t actually figure it out on my own and thought since you were laid up I’d ask others too which is where/how I got the info. Then I found the 3rd fire station and did the same there so now all three have trucks parked inside along with a dog bed, food bowl and chew toy for Kota. He ain’t no Dalmatian neither. Nope… he’s a blk/wht Pitbull…just what a fire station needs right? LOL!

Last Sunday the 18th was the real Austin’s 25th birthday and he loves his TS3 self as a fireman…the best fit with the lifetime wish of “The Tinkerer.” Max out handiness and logic skills are all that’s required and that’s him in real life too. If only EA would make that old car for restoration available separately, Sim Austin would be even closer to the real one!

Now that that’s taken care of, I’m on another quest using your town. This is embarrassing but I didn't realize Bella was actually in TS3 as a child until I saw the latest trailer. How did I miss THAT? I knew Mortimer was but never thought to look for Bella. Well, I found her and transplanted her and her family too. So NOW my goal is for them to meet and grow up into adulthood. God only knows how long that will take.

OK! That’s it for now! Over & out! Have a great weekend and take care.

I love all of your Mortimers & Bellas. I never played them in Sims 3, in fact I build most of the time, and seldom play. This almost makes me want to go and find them, add them to the town I am working on now, and play them. Cute pictures all the way around.

Well this was supposed to be on the Sims 4 conversation, Oh well still love your pictures.

    Hi Cam,

I checked out your link to the pictures of Mortimer and Bella and I don't think any of the different versions of them throughout Sims 1-4 look that much alike. Sure, there are the basics such as hair color, clothing, etc. that look alike, but the overall look of their faces and bodies certainly vary from one game to the next. I was hoping to see more continuity between each version, but then again, it is just my opinion. As for their house, I have already seen several people posting their versions of it, and some of them are spot on!
