Deco Shopping center, created to free up space for my other venues. Since one other person asked me to share, it's up. I bulldozed the school, using another school in the world, and another RH with the bookstore/spa combo on it. Also have a consignment/Elixir shop on it.
I have my first roller coaster ready to share with you! It took me many, many hours to complete, but I hope you'll think it was worth it! It's a large roller coaster built on a 64x64 lot. It's called the Golden Age Roller Coaster. No custom content, no create-a-pattern. Verified with Custard. Please recommend. Thank you!
I think i tried all of the ideas mentioned. I did use the room markers. I built and cafe and coffee shop on the bottom floor of one of the late night apartment buidings too. I put in the bistro oven/chef and the coffee bar but no sims ever visited the lot. For some reason the lot I built and shared I get a lot of visitors. It may be because I put in a lot of NPC rooms. The lot has got to be set to a hangout, then people come as well as sims to work the registers. Your sims could own another small lot and just stay in the apartment above the shops. I may make a very simple version to share, so people can see how it is done. The Elysee apartments have a lot of premium items and store items.
Yeah, that's the basic quandary. If you set it to a residential lot, your sim can live there, but you won't get any customers. If you set it to a commercial lot, your sim can kind-of live there. They can sleep, eat, bathe, etc. But they have to own a residential lot somewhere that is their official home. You can't use a regular oven to cook meals. You can use a BBQ grill, Wood-fired Oven, or Teppanyaki grill to cook meals but that limits your diet. I dunno about the Bistro oven, I don't have that one.

Actually for some reason the regular oven stayed when i changed it to hang out. Maybe it is because of the apartment...i dunno, but I was quite pleased!
That Penthouse is just breathtaking! The closet...there are no words.
My Marilyn Monroe Sim is just getting started in the film biz in RH, but when she makes it big, she is going to live there!
There are so many amazing and beautiful things in this thread I seem to be spending more time here admiring it all than I spend playing. All that I can think of to say is: WOW!
Thanks for the compliments on my fire station. Hope you don't mind I have been stalking yours and a few other creators here for lots. Getting a bit tired of building and checking the EA lots because I am ready to play. Still have a few more lots to check but this lot will satisfy my arcade needs. Thank you!
Um, EA. The buildings are lovely and I really enjoy how you decorated them but who taught you to make bathrooms like that? That would never work.
Nothing to see. I don't even care about the forums.
My second roller coaster is now ready for me to share with you. It's called the Blue Streak Roller Coaster. It is built on a 50x50 lot. It contains one coaster that makes two laps around the park. There is also a "carousel" and plenty of other amusements for the entire family. Food and beverages abound. Makes extensive use of the Le Cirque Esprit set from he EA Store. No custom content, no create-a-pattern. Verified with Custard. Please recommend. Thank you!

Now I got 2 of your coaster lots in my game. I was looking for one that I can convert into a festival lot, 50x50 fits most of the worlds I play. Thank you so much for creating and sharing it.

A festival lot? I'd love to see it! And feel free to share it on the Exchange if you so choose. :P
Right now I am converting the bars on the beach into Showtime/Late Night venues and when I finish that will be my next project. I will post pictures when I finish.

I have a feeling that the odd bathrooms in some of the hangouts are a nod to Bathtub gin. The roaring 20s where hit with prohibition in the USA. Gin was The drink, and not being able to buy it legally, some made it in a bathtub. It would be cool if someone cloned the keg from University Life on to a tub. It would make the big empty rooms fun.
I love everyone's roller coasters they are so awesome
@ Zozsie great starter
@ blewis823 wow, firehall is perfect
@ Tiki5872 that penthouse is beautiful fit for a movie star
@ Polysporin your builds are perfect for this world I have your club, salon and arcade in my game.
Built at 49 Beach Drive in Roaring Heights. 20 x 30
Fully furnished 1 bedroom home. Great for a stylish couple.
All appliances upgraded.
No CC( CUSTARD clean) but lots of store content. Play tested.
This build is based upon a real home, built as an exhibit for the 1933 World's Fair in Chicago. The home now resides here in my native Indiana, on a beach in Beverly Shores. I've grown up admiring it, and when RH was announced I knew I had to build it.
I used mainly base game textures and coloring, to keep it simple. I also tried to refrain from store items or too many EP items, so it was accessible to more people. It does contain RH items.
Whether you live in Roaring Heights or Sunset Valley, this multi room, barest basics*, starter comes in at just under 15,500. Which is great for a single starting out, or a small family that needs some elbow room. *barest basics = fridge, toilet, and a shower. ~ Mmdrgntobldrgn
*********** House #2 ***********
It's not furnished in the sense of fully furnished, it's furnished in the sense of this is what newly built home looks like when folks first move in.
Whether you live in Roaring Heights or Sunset Valley, this multi room, just the basics*, starter comes in at just under 18,300. Which is ok for a young couple or small family just starting out. But, someone will have to earn money fast, if they want a bed to sleep on. Sim tested and custard checked. *just the basics = toilet, tub, bathroom sink; fridge, stove, kitchen sink, counters; minimal lights, kitchen, hall, bathroom. ~ Mmdrgntobldrgn
Some notes; no fireplace but space for it, I didn't add more furnishing or decorate because my goal was to keep the lot at a starter price range, and adding the windows to the two bedrooms and the bathroom pushed the cost up more than I liked.
Build adapted to fit the style of Roaring Heights. I have checked the house with both sims and custard and found no problems.
After looking at over a dozen different 1920's era floor plans, the houses back then for the average {working class/middle income} family were small/tiny by today's standards.
I hope that those who download enjoy this basic starter and it's twin posted above.

I blame all you wonderful creators for this.
Thanks.
