@StutteredScreams, Hi! Thanks for checking in! Yay!, Glad you like the shape of it! It's too bad they can't leave all the free stuff up. I knew they had discontinued some of it but I wasn't sure what all was still available.
@romagi1 The brick looks awesome, I really love it, but I do agree that it has turned out a lot more pink than expected! So in this case I'm actually more interested in the brown version, as I think it really compliments the cream trimmings and general structure design. We could maybe try adding a slightly more burnt orange hue to the brown, but depending on that outcome I may just pick the brown as is!
Yay! After doing the brunt orange it was my pick! Glad you two like it the best too! Been playing with the floor tiles and patterns for the kitchens and baths.
@StutteredScreams, Hi! I've a WIP for you to take a look at the colors and styles of walls, floors and furnishing for the downstairs apartment. I was thinking a bit more country formal type furnishing while still trying to incorporate the Moorish design in the downstairs and not formal upstairs. LOL Haven't got that far yet but definitely not formal. I've mostly been working on the science / garden / alchemy room up there. Let me know if I'm going the right direction.
@romagi1 I'm really digging the funky design of the wooden floors, and the kitchen tiles look great too! While formal country totally suits the build, I'm actually looking for more of that classic country charm to blend with the Moorish designs.
So more like this image from the photo set:
Just in case it may help, this is the odd couple who will be living on that floor!
And the little blonde on the left is the reason behind all the oddities in this build haha.
To explain a bit, blondie is an artist and a trust fund kid, and the idea is that he's the one that's orchestrating this renovation. So basically he's hired the professionals (that being you) to bring his eccentric dreams to life.
Hopefully this little backstory is useful to you, and maybe even inspire you more so!
@StutteredScreams, My bad! LOL When you said 2 men in an apartment, an odd couple. My mind went to the show The Odd Couple, 2 men together in an apartment! Totally NOT what you are showing!
I am actually trying to do something similar to your pic in the upstairs kitchen but since I have a store chair in it that I haven't decided if I wanted to use I wasn't ready to show a pic of it. I'll go check out your new pics! Yay! So, back to the downstairs kitchen and dining. I've a new WIP, so you can see if I am getting any closer to what you wanting.
@romagi1 Ooops! This is my bad also hehe, sometimes I forget people can't actually hear the thoughts and ideas in my head.
So yeah in this case "odd couple" stems from the fact that they are two very different but equally weird people, that have found themselves in an "opposites attract" relationship.
Oh I see! I probably should have mentioned that the only real upstairs apartment inspo picture I have is this:
But honestly even that isn't really at all right for this eccentric plant witch, I just liked the use of space and adorably designed/placed kitchen (mainly that awesome pink stove with the brick backsplash!!).
I totally see why you picked that kitchen for her though, as it really is super quirky and fun, so I'm looking forward to seeing your WIP for that! If you somehow can combine what you're working on now with the cute shape and placements of the kitchen from the above picture it may actually be perfection.
I'm also so in love with that WIP of the full kitchen, the floor tiles and bench/wall trim tiles go so well together it's awesome. In fact all of the changes you've made are great, I'm really getting that country charm feeling that I wanted from those pics. Thank you!
@romagi1 Yes! I really like those colour palettes, I hadn't made much decisions in regards to the upper apartment other than who was living there and that she'd want plants EVERYWHERE, and cute trinkets and other objects to accentuate the place. She's super fun and quirky, and also a total whack job, and I think those colours will totally suit her.
On the downstairs apartment you requested 2 bedrooms but only described one. Do you want the other as a bedroom also or an art studio as you said the little blonde is an artist?
I have a WIP of the upstairs kitchen, let me know what you think.
@romagi1 Well originally I figured if there was enough room a guest bedroom wouldn't hurt, but I think an art studio would be so so great! I think he'll be an all around artist, just someone who really loves art ya know. But his main medium will be sculpting, so if we could have that be 'center stage' that'd be sweet.
I totally adore the kitchen, it's so fun, and the tile back splash is incredible! But if you can switch it to light wood and that pink stove I'd really love that. I do really like the look of the galley style kitchen, so if you could have a mess around with the apartment layout and see what it turns out like we can go from there.
Looking awesome, it's a great layout! Do you think we could find a way to incorporate that tile pattern from the green kitchen though? I really really loved that.
I'm thinking a more masculine country for the living area of the downstairs? The art studio and guest bath with a bit more Moorish flavor or stay with country?
Any thoughts or inspiration pics for the upstairs bedroom and living room before I get started?

So dark/dull warm colors, like mustard, brick, lime and pumpkin and darker woods in the downstairs apartment
and
Lighter more vibrant colors with lighter woods in the upstairs apartment, like:
