My baby disappeared?

So I had just gotten my baby after waiting for it for 24 hours. i went to feed it and then I tried to make a separate room for the baby like the game said to. I was trying to figure out how to make a separate room without just extending the other room. I failed at that, but I had moved the crib around a lot. Then when I went back to click the sim tracker to click on the baby it disappeared and now it only says I have five sims again. =/ I still have the crib. I know I can't get her back so I just want to know what I had done wrong so it won't happen again. sadly I can't get another baby right now since I don't have enough lp. =/

I'm using an iphone 3gs if that's relevant.
