A Perfect Match

It's hard to believe, but I will be celebrating 18 years of marriage tomorrow with my best friend, partner and pal. (This October, we will have been in love for 20 years). This is a second marriage for both of us. We each brought two kids into the union and then had a son together - sort of Brady Bunch with a twist.

Even harder to believe is how we still grow closer every day. It's a minor miracle, really, when you consider how imperfect we both are individually. Together, though, we create the perfect match.

To celebrate the continuity of our happy union, I wanted to host my first lottery. Since I've been wanting to purchase the

Surf's Up Sun and Fun Collection

I decided that I will buy that set tomorrow and *match* it with a gift of that same set to someone else.

Here are the only RULES and details, sweet fellow simmers:

1. You must nominate at least two people; after all, this is all about celebrating best friends, couples, pairs, partners and pals. That can include you and someone else, or two people apart from yourself.

2. It would be so nice if you could add to the spirit of this lottery by telling us how you met your perfect match; or how long you've been together; or just a fun story about love in general. If you do not have a partner now, do you have a strong idea about who your perfect match might be?

3. The lottery will close at 10 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time tomorrow, August 4, 2013 - about the same time that my pal fell asleep "early" on our honeymoon 18 years ago after drinking too much champagne at our wedding. (He never overindulges, but it was an expensive vintage, the guests weren't drinking enough and he didn't want it to go to waste.)

4. Like efcronin just did in her own Surf's Up lottery, I will use the Random Sequence Generator to choose the lottery winner.

I am with my perfect match and we just celebrated our third wedding anniversary and have been together 9 years. We went to school together but never actually knew each other there.
Then we just kind of met up, we moved in with each other pretty quickly and we just clicked.
He is an amazing man and does so much for me.
I became disabled over 2 years ago and he gave up work and basically dedicates his life to me and cares for me and I love him so much :oops:

Well, I must be honest that I'm pretty terrible at relationships. Actually, wasn't looking for one up to this summer, but it didn't work out. I'm not sure who'll be my perfect match now, but I'm sure that she'll be similar to me, but at the same time and unique in her own way. She has to be insane, artistic, may be clumsy as I love this characteristic and don't know why and not to affraid to try out new things like hiking, mountain climbing and traveling I guess that's all

I have been married to my wonderful hubby for 10 years now, almost 11. And we have been together for a year longer than that. We met because a girl I met at work had a friend who was going to a party at "this guys apartment". They asked if I would like to come along, and so I met "this guy" and kinda swooned! I met my wife long before we started dating. She was my two best friends little sister. When we were younger i couldnt stand her lol. Around the time we were all teenagers her friend started dating her brother, me and her both would be hanging out with our friend and suddenly it would be just me and her hanging out together. We started talking and eventually i asked her brothers if they would care if i asked her out and they were fine with it. Been together 10 years now and have a beautiful daughter together and trying to have another one.

My friends gave me permission to share their story, so here goes. Their families were pretty close so we spent a lot of time together as kids (though, they mostly spent their time babysitting me since I was the youngest :P). His family ended up moving, though, so she and I went through high school and junior high (respectively) without him

Fast-forward a few years and they're both in different colleges in different states. His family ended up moving back near our house, and they hosted a housewarming/winter holiday party at their new house (my family was out of town, though, so I couldn't join them ). They started talking, and apparently he asked her out over a game of poker (which apparently she won, but he contests the outcome to this day).

They got married last spring and are currently expecting a baby boy
