I really like this thread will have to come back and look through all your studios
I really like the look of the world you guys are building too.
Happy Simming!
Hey there Starbucaneer! Thank you and welcome to our building thread! We're a fun, crazy bunch, but we don't bite so definitely feel free to jump right in. And if you haven't checked it out already, the DD thread is also a great place to hang out!
Jen: I was actually wondering if you guys would want my High Tower Cathedral lot as a wedding lot. Of course you're all free to use my lots however you'd like. Let me know if you're using some of the older ones. I'll need to play test them to make sure everything works as it should. Nothing too drastic should need to be changed, but I'm pretty sure the spiral staircases in some of the older lots don't work anymore.
Sure why not! I was actually just in your studio dl'ing and rec'ing most of your lots lol. So funny, I TOTALLY didn't put two-and-two together: I have a few of your lots from ages ago for my Japanese kick. I also had your Castle in the Wind (is that the right name?) and so loved it, but it's so huge it was lagging my game lol. Had to take it out of the town . But I love your lots!
Meg, is there a good lot for the cathedral somewhere?
Anyone can put any lot anywhere in Majix remember, the map/guide is just that, a guide. We are "building for specific lots" to make a complete town but people don't have to stick to that!
Made another lot today since I had some extra time while my family was watching a movie. I don't think we had a dance club yet - didn't see one on the DDSBA list, but there have been so many builds lately that I can't even keep up with them all.
Dance the night away in the light of the stars at the Dancing Nebula. If the galaxy isn't spinning fast enough for you, sit back and have a few drinks at the bar, then get up and test your celestial alignment all over again!
I noticed my game acting up a little while taking photos. I'm not sure if it's because I had too many party lights and things going on all at once or if it was just my system being weird. If it is the number of lights and such, you can just go in and delete some of them.
Jen: Oooo, thanks for the rec's and downloads. I actually have one more lot that was supposed to be uploaded with the other Japanese ones. It was called Purple Dragon Palace, but I never finished it. I wonder if I still have it saved somewhere... Castle in the Wind is also one of my favorites; it was so complicated to make it float! However, if you think that's big, you should see Ever Frost Fortress. I never even attempted to move a family in there because of its size!
David: There's so much to look at in Dancing Nebula. I love the colors! Everything's so shiny and vibrant!
Nick: Yeah, just looking at some of your lots made me shudder at the size - gorgeous as they are!
David: WOWZAS! Another amazing build! Keep rollin' 'em out, friend! More community lots, yay! Just dl'd and rec'd the Nebula. Can't wait to play it!
Meg darlin, where are you? Where's your sports bar?? LOL
(I'm home btw everyone lol)
I just added a post on the first page, all our lots organized by community lot type. I'm sure I'm missing a few. And I haven't even filled in any of Nick's yet! I did not list any placement suggestions, that's Meg's posts. There are getting to be so many lots I decided it would be good to have them grouped like this (you're welcome David). This list is all the community lot types in game, minus WA and the Uni-world specific ones. If there's no lot linked next to the lot type, we don't have that lot yet! Majix Cove includes the EA versions of almost all of these so the world is most definitely playable as-is (well, you need to put a few houses and Sims in it...). BUT we all love custom lots, so let's build!
Edit: oh yes, almost forgot: there are a few "misc" lots listed as I can't remember how they're flagged and I'm not going into game tonight. Can the creators please let me know? (David, your bowling alley and driving range; Lauren your disco; and a few others.)
I'm a bit of a rubbish builder, it takes me hours to create something very ordinary, but I suppose if I don't try I won't improve!
Anyway, I would love to contribute to Majix Cove and what better to start with than something I am very familiar with ... a pub!
What our town is missing is a proper old-fashioned English pub, a little down-at-heel, and not at all trendy but a great place to meet friends and enjoy a sociable drink.
I was thinking of creating a sort of town centre local and thought 10 Sim Lane would be the ideal spot for my Dive Bar pub - I was looking for somewhere a little grubby but Majix Cove is just too darned pleasant!
I've already started and will post some pics soon.
Jenn: That is so! darn! cute! We need more small-to-mid size houses I think. Are you going to upload the furnished version too? (I hope so!) I will wait to list it if so.
Adrian: WOW that's great! I can't wait to see what you come up with. That is so perfect! And now I can add you as a "member" builder.
Meg darlin, where are you? Where's your sports bar?? LOL
I'm here! I ended up going to bed early to catch up on some Zzz's. Exciting Saturday night right? :?
Anywho, I will work on updating my posts and uploading the sports bar today. After getting Brett's tips, I wanted to re-vamp it just a smidge.
AND I finally got CAW to load Sunset Valley Lite in EIG mode with everything installed!! Woo!! I just had to removed my Mods folder ::facepalm:: Should've known better.
Then I went to load Majix in EIG mode and it crashed. Again. So it must be something with Majix itself which stinks! Still working on it. I had to reverse engineer SV2 to get it back into CAW so maybe it broke something. I dunno. Hopefully I can get it to work.
My sports bar is now uploaded and available for download. I hope you all like it.
Introducing The Cherry Pit
(It's right next to Cherrywood Stadium... get it? Cherrywood, Cherry Pit... get it?! :P ) Oh well, change the name if you desire!

My first two posts have been updated as far as the list. I have added in Nick, Jess, and Jenn's new builds, though I'm not sure where I can put David's. I'll have to head in game to look around. May have to move some other less important things around but I'll get it in there some where!
I'm sure I've forgotten someone or something, so please feel free to remind me!
Also, I am going to look for more places to put another of Nick's builds, Eden, which I can't seem to download. Nick, it keeps giving me an error. Has anyone else reported not being able to download it?
- Yay, (kinda) for getting Sunset Valley Lite to work in EIG. You're half way there. Is there somewhere I can download your CAW file? Is it too big to email (see my about me)? If I have it, I can see if it's something with your CAW or mine too.
- Your sports bar looks so nice! Rec'd!
- Hmmm... Edwardian Eden worked when I initially uploaded it. It does have three CC windows. Maybe that's the problem? I was able to download the file. I think I'll upload a CC-Free version when I get a chance. We have a lot more build items now, so I shouldn't need those windows anymore.
- I'm glad you found places for some of my houses. I feel bad for most of them because they're abandoned once they're finished being built as I don't have families that can afford them. This way they'll at least be part of a town.
- I have a Kingkade inspired farmhouse/barn that is 98% complete from a contest I never ended up submitting to. Is there any place left we could put it? It's 64x64, which is why I'm asking.
"A warm welcome awaits at the Dealers Arms, the finest traditional pub in Majix Cove. A busy local, but with neither loud music nor TV, you can still enjoy a relaxed conversation with your drink or maybe one of their famous home-cooked pizzas. You'll soon want to become a regular and perhaps even share in the successes of the pub darts teams!"
First, a tour of the facilities:
Feeling hungry? Enjoy tasty snacks from the bar or one of our famous home-cooked pizzas in our comfortable dining room.
Or perhaps, you just want to enjoy one of the fine range of local ales and juices, the bar area has plenty of seating without feeling cramped. And when the temperature outside drops, our real fire will keep you warm and cosy.
Feeling competitive? Particularly popular with our younger clientèle, the games room hosts not only table football and video game staples but is also home to the Dealers Arrows darts team.
On those lovely summer days, our delightful enclosed family garden at the rear includes a swing and rides to keep the young-uns amused and safe.
Simple but clean and tasteful facilities mean that you can stay as long as you like, and don't have to rush home when you hear the call of nature!
It may be small but our kitchen is the source of some real culinary magic. A specially commissioned wood-fired oven enables our chef to create the finest pizzas in the whole of Majix Cove!
Just like many of his predecessors the landlord is, along with many of our regulars, a keen supporter of the Majix Cove Dog Care Trust, these are a few photographs of the many dogs rescued with the help of the Dealers Arms.
Will you beat the top scores? Easy to play but tough to beat, our video console is waiting to challenge you!
When the weather is good our horseshoes court is very popular - ask at the bar for a set of shoes if you don't carry your own!
Got enough stress and excitement in your life? We have the time to help you unwind, so come visit, we'd love to see you.
There are some slight differences between the actual uploaded lot and these photos - minor change in décor items and the rear area had to be re-jigged a little to ensure the game and the family area were playable.
So many fantastic builds in the last few days. Great sports bar Meg, great smaller home Jenn and a wonderful pub Adrian. Meg, I am so proud of you for winning more contests.
I am in the final stages to prepare to upload my house for 60 Summer Beach Cir. I have no idea what to call it for the description. I was having some issues with doors disappearing into the wall. I am able to get them working again by selecting them in build mode. Also, I have two issues I have pictures I want to display and get some input. (Taking pictures with walls up has been difficult on my second floor. The rooms are not overly large.)
First issue is with the arch. In walls up mode, one section of the wall disappears. I replaced the arch with another that seems to work but it is not as dramatic and takes away from the effect I wanted. Does anyone know if there is a fix or is this just one of many store items with problems?
Second issue is missing ceiling tiles in camera mode on the first floor of the house. I have tried to repaint the ceiling but it does not work. In game play mode, buy and build modes, the floor is complete on the second floor and the roof is complete. I am also missing a section of the overhang on the front patio in camera mode but the overhang displays in the other modes.

Is that the cellar arch? I just saw a thread yesterday on bugs in store items (sorry, can't seem to find it today) and it showed a picture of the cellar arch doing the exact same thing. Apparently a known bug, although I hadn't seen anything about it before.
As for the second picture, I would like to know the answer to this as well because I am having the exact same problem with my current build. There are several sections of missing tiles, sometimes just 1, sometimes many. The floor is complete from above, and it only shows in camera mode.
I thought I could maybe get underneath and "tile" the ceiling, but it only lets me get certain holes this way. I can't get them all because trying to get the camera to look up like this next to walls and such keeps making it skip away from where I need it to be. And it won't "click" in certain places, so it's like there's nothing above it, which there is. Of course, all the ceiling tiles they offer are very ornate which won't work for what I need anyway, and I can't get an exact match for the default ceiling. I can't figure out why the tiles are there from above but missing from below anyway?
I can help with the second Issue this happens to me on every build so far. I have to delete all the floor tiles on the floor above, and then replace them, repaint the ceiling, and it should be fixed then. I think it occurs when you drag out or edit walls after a room is kinda created.
Hope this helps out.
OH.. And Like I said in the other forum, Great builds everyone !!

OH.. And Like I said in the other forum, Great builds everyone
You can make a good tile for ceilings by editing a floor tile. Find the Simple Flooring tile (first one under the stone section, black marble). Put it across the ceiling, then go into Create-a-Style and click on the ceiling. Then change the section you are picked textures from to Paint. Find a paint style you like and then paint it white or whatever color you prefer.
