How do i get my CPU usage down?

My game has started crashing and i opened the task manager to look and it was hitting 99% on sims 3 and that's when it would crash, any ideas on what to do to make it work???

I read on the other thread someone said you should try switching of some background processes. Have tried using Razer game booster ? It has helped a couple of people, and I found that my game also runs better when I use it
