Go to desktop, click start, in the search bar type in dxdiag, click save all information, then copy and paste the information from what you saved to this thread.

Have you installed a new expansion pack lately? If so, which ones have you bought since this started happening?

Okay I have to go AFK. So here is a tip. If you just installed Island Paradise. Your graphics in your system is not enough to run Island Paradise, so odds are you're crashing or lagging in the game due to lack of a strong graphics system on your end.

Here is what EA says you need to run Island Paradise.

128 MB Video Card with support for Pixel Shader 2.0

    * For NVIDIA ION™ computers, the game requires at least 2.0 GB RAM.

** 7 GB of hard drive space if installing with The Sims 3.

ok for crashing with installing new store items - have you tested in the new world first clean cache files and pull mod folder if you have one?
