Ha ha, great to see you here Pinstar! I'd so love to play a legacy for TS3, shame my game won't work right now. But one day it will...or I'll have a new Pc and then I'll play it for sure.
I'd be really interested to see what new things you add and how the different gameplay features of TS3 work in a legacy. Also I love how you could have the whole neighbourhood just plod through ten generations with you while you just play the one family...it'd be nice to see other things change with you while you can still concentrate on your family goals.
Yay! Now that my game is working smoothly this was actually the first thing I thought of, I can't wait to play legacy! TS3 seems to be made for something like this. Eeee! I can't wait to read all the new rules.
Yes! Yes! Yes! (Guess I should have chosen Excitable for myself as a trait, eh? :P)
So glad to hear you're doing this, Pinstar. I'd like to personally thank you for creating the whole Legacy Challenge to begin with. It's quite a rewarding thing to take up, and I've had hours and hours of game play fun due to it.
Excellent news! I just got TS3 today, so I still have a little time to settle down and become familiar with the new elements of this game before you publish your Challenge.
Thanks for the heads up Pinstar, we all love your challenges and The Sims 2 was particularly exciting because of them. When I've settled into the game and broke myself in, I'll definitely give it a try!
I looooved the Legacy Challenge...I tried to get my friends to play too whenever they would mention the Sims but no one was up for it. I would always argue, "why play if there is no challenge?" Ah well. Can't wait to do another challenge!
Yay! It's great to see you back. I really enjoyed seeing what people did with your Sims 2 challenge. I didn't do it, but I think I's like to try it for Sims 3.
Wow, this sounds awesome! I was never around for The Sims 2 legacy challenge...but it sounds like it's something that's right up my alley because when I play The Sims, I always play to build a legacy. (Hence why I don't really care about not being able to play multiple households in The Sims 3 because I usually only play as one anyways)
I'll be sure to keep my eyes out for the rules and to try it for myself.
I never knew about the "legacy challenge" in ts2. Would anyone care to enlighten myself and everyone else who has no idea what this is?
I know this has prolly already been asked of you, but how long have you played the sims, and how long have you been apart of the sims online community, not to have heard of the legacy challenge?

I didnt find out about the Legacy Challnge until OFB, and by then there was sooo much to get done that it was overwhelming, it will be nice to start one with a clean new game, and fresh new rules. Hopefully it will be a good long, but no too long, while before they come out with a EP.
I was just thinking that one of the things that Sims 3 lacks is a basis for legacy playing.
Perhaps this time around I'll manage to actually finish a legacy. I need something to cheer myself up since Sims 2 ate my legacy family about a week before Sims 3 came out. (I believe this was a conspiracy to encourage Sims 3 purchasing. I'm onto you Eaxis.)
My guess for 'Family Trait' is that you have to pick one trait and carry it over for about 10 generations? (sorry, just me being curious).
I look forward to this; I loved playing the Legacy Challenge, though it did became a bit overwhelming when all the EP's came out. Legacy Challenge taught me how to enjoy the game without motherlode :-) I'll keep an eye out on this thread.

That sounds about right. That would mean that each sim would have to be very happy at least one time when they age, so that you can pick their trait and not get stuck with a random trait.

I find that playing TS3 is much easier without cheats than it was in TS2. That will help immensely when it comes to getting through the legacy!

I look forward to the new New Rules. :-D

They'll need a forum just for your legacy challenge. I really look forward to it.
