Well, I'm sorry to bring it up, my friend, and would have simply posted on your My Page but that does not allow for very many people to learn about something important. Earlier today, site member Lizbethbear posted a very important message regarding not using CUSTARD. She said, "If you download from the exchange and you don't use custard on that file first, you're pretty much playing russian roulette with your game." That's it, exactly.

I do want to caution you not to be concerned when the world opens up in CUSTARD with a red bar running through the world file line, signifying that the world is corrupt. A recent change to our Launchers is causing all worlds to download with the world file line "corruption" showing in CUSTARD. (This is happening with some lots, too.) Every user-created world I have installed in my game (about a dozen) shows as "corrupt" even though they are not because I have downloaded all of them after this change was made to our Launchers.

What is important is to be aware of all that superfluous content that may or may not be included. We should always *know* what we are installing in our game our on our PCs, Macs or laptops.

Doublemedion, we're all still learning all kinds of things - it's all good. :D The world is beautiful and your labor of love deserves a few minutes to clean up the file.

    Right,

As I suspected, the object came with another world I had installed. Now I've completely eradicated it from my game and re-exported the Cladbridge world file (which is now almost 10GB lighter!!).

If you would like to download the new version it is on Mediafire again:

Unfortunately, the exchange is still not uploading so it will be only on mediafire for the forseeable future.

I'm sorry again about the viral object. I've learnt my lesson. Hope you now can enjoy the clean world.

I have just closed my game, I finally managed to install, cleaning it with Custard :) funny thing is that I always do that, but as I never had any problems with GlenDonnach I guess this time I just forgot.

Oh my god, it's beautiful. So beautiful I could cry. Honestly. You don't have any idea of how happy your world makes me feel. Thank you so much for sharing

Thank you MichelleBrujah, that's great to hear :)

Just a note to say that the world is now on the exchange. A link is also on the first post.

Absolutely loving this world - it's exactly what I always wanted!

You see, what I wanted most out of a world is a town with an obvious estate house. That it had a gatehouse too is awesome, and I really, really like the whole feel of the town. With the recent patch that allows you to buy and sell property, you could really act a lot like an aristocrat.

If you ever do an update, here are some things that would be great to see:
Distant terrain, or making the village on a small island. It's a little unsettling to see water off in the distance.
Some of the smaller houses have routing issues, especially with babies. I can't pick them up, so I have to use testingcheatsenabled to teleport them to the garden.
A great boon to the estate house would be to see additional side lots, to add more gardens, esplandes, and other lots with a pathway.

I've been spending my sweet time exploring around in Edit mode, oh the things I'm going to do with this world.

I have a technical question :P I've seen your train station and it's awesome, but as I haven't played in Live mode I must know, does the train actually move?

    Thanks guys :-)

yiehtk - Thanks for the feedback. On the first post of this thread is a link to the terrain which is intended for use with Cladbridge. As for the routing, I'm sorry it is awkward but I kind of had to sacrifice a bit of playability in the town so as to make it look right. I hope it isn't causing too many problems.

MichelleBrujah - The station does not get any train service. I considered working with the France train but it looks very large and blocky (and not british either) so I decided to leave it.

Awww there's no problem! I only asked because I was planning to make the station a real station, but if I find it I'll use a deco train for screens :) I just love what you've done, I hope you don't mind that I edit the town to my tastes (almost all Downtown sets by Around the Sims 3 are going straight to Clabridge)

I am half british, and both GlenDonnach and Cladbridge make me happy, they look so real to me (I haven't been to UK, ever in my life, sadly). Also there's a lack for 'european' worlds in Sims 3, and I've grown bored of americana looking ones.

Have I said how much I like Cladbridge?

Hi there, I just played this last night. So lovely :) I know it is not meant to be the same place, but it reminds me of the little villages in the South Downs where I spent a good part of my childhood. I would love to see this world populated... If you don't populate it I will be corralling a bunch of my sims to flesh this world out and making it one of my go-to worlds for regular play.

I really appreciate your work here, thank you so much for bringing this amazing world to life!

I also uploaded a house onto the exchange for anyone that wants to fill some spaces. This is intended to sit on Torbay Road between the farm and the converted barn.

    Beautiful, just beautiful.

Recently downloaded & played for 4 hours tonight. Very impressed.

Easily as good as 90% of official world, that cost wads of cash.

And yes..it does look like the south downs, in fact with Pets (for the horses)it could look like the New Forest.

    Hi

I have just downloaded and successfully installed this world in my Sims 3 game, after searching for an English style world on The Exchange. I must say, on first impressions, this world is simply fabulous, however after a quick look around in 'Edit Town' mode, it became obvious there was a slight problem:

The main bridge across the river and the bridge across the railway is missing from my game.

I made sure to check that I don't need any particular stuff packs or expansion packs to use this world, as on The Exchange it seemed to imply that one only needs the base game for this world to work. I have not really downloaded many worlds before, so I am a little new to this.

Could someone offer any clues as to why these bridges may be missing from my game, and/or how to rectify the problem?

Very grateful for any help anyone could give, as I really like the world so far, I would love to be able to play it properly!

    Many thanks,

I'm afraid the world does need at least World Adventures to be installed for the bridges to appear (see first post on this thread). There is no way around this problem since the bridges are the only way to cross the river and railway :(

    Hi doublemedion694

Thank you so much for your reply. The world really is a masterpiece! Well done on creating such a beautiful, realistic village. I am gutted that I won't be able to play it. I have a few EPs on my game, Ambitions, Pets and Late Night, but not World of Adventures.

I see you have another world, GlenDonnach. I may see if that one works.

Thanks again for your reply, and your wonderful creations!

I love this little world. I do have a question though... Why can't we edit the otherside of the gatehouse? Or is it just me that can't edit that little lot?

breannaKristine - I locked that lot from being able to be edited. I did so mainly to stop it from showing up and cluttering the 'edit town' screen.

It is easy enough to unlock. There's plenty of info online to help you do it if you really want to ;)

    Hi doublemedion694

    Congratulation for the feature!

I know I am a little late, but I was so busy with CAW and my WIP Caceres that I have had no time to play your world till yesterday, CAW not being playable with the new patch gave me a real game evening.

It is so nice and so much English looking! I have called my save game St. Mary Mead (from A.C. Miss Marple) and got the characters placed in the homes I found much suitable for them and had a fabulous playing time. Thankyou very much for this gift, you have made a great work.

Very English, I feeling something like Hampshire, Wiltshire or maybe Buckinghamshire, anywhere in the South or Midlands region. I also like the train station. Even the name sounds English

I just wanted to say thanks!

I downloaded this a while ago, but only got round to loading it up this week and I love it. Its very 'English countryside' and a lot of work has clearly gone into it. Thank you so much!
