Cladbridge-on-Stowe: An English Village ON THE EXCHANGE

These pictures show my new world set somewhere in the idylic English countryside. It is called Cladbridge-on-Stowe.

The world is a large map which covers a large valley with a winding river (the river Stowe) and the surrounding hills and farmlands. There will be a large market village, a church, railway station, manor houses and plenty of space for rambling and horse riding.

SPEC: I have aimed to make it to the best standards as possible, including spawners and all rabbit holes.

- It will need Riverview, World Adventures, Ambitions and Late Night to work.

- Some empty lots are included to accommodate extra expansion pack functionality. Notably the 60x60 ranch lot and space for the rennaissance fair (may need rezoning).

- Because I think rabbit holes are too big to convey British architecture I am using the basement method. Map icons may appear a distance from the actual lot entrances.

- Although it is not essential, I've been using the "unlocked" riverview distant terrain. It can be found over at modthesims:
http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=427515
The world will work without it but the sea will be clearly visible from most angles.

Furthermore, the world takes advantage of some of Simsample and GiLaNg's unlocked neighbourhood objects (which show up fine if you have ambitions) Thanks should also go to Regina at bogsims.com and MrCrumplebottom1 for some of the road textures.

DOWNLOAD: The world is available now on the exchange:
http://www.thesims3.com/assetDetail.html?assetId=7451577

SAVE GAME: Includes 18 households, each fully detailed with flavour texts, bios and relationships. It also contains small fixes (eg locked & unlocked doors) which make the world a bit better to play. It can be found here:
http://www.mediafire.com/download/zjjq6rl99j42zzp/Cladbridge-on-Stowe.sims3.rar Just place the file in My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Saves

PERFORMANCE NOTES: The world has been playtested for two sim weeks with little issue. At one point the game showed lag but using the cheat resetsim * fixed the problem. Needless to say, if any issues arise please don't hesitate to inform me.

Wow, this looks stunning and so realistic. I live in a small town in Sussex and this looks like the surrounding area. Looking forward to seeing more

The second I saw that you were the creator of this thread, DoubleMedion, I smiled.

What a terrific start - the fields looks fantastic, and overall the place seems very lovely. :D You do rural so well there's no doubt Cladbridge-on-Stowe will be another quality world.

    Thanks guys!

While progress has mostly been furnishing empty shells, I thought I'd post up some more pictures of the world:

The plan is to keep the town roughly its current size and make hills sprawl behind it.

I love it! You've done a wonderful job at capturing the British countryside and I can't wait to see more. :D Out of interest, will you be using any Store content?

Thanks again guys for the encouragement :-)

alexspoom13 - There will be no store content other than Riverview used in this world.

Here's a small update focusing on the town. The surrounding fields are pretty much cultivating themselves, so I have plenty of time to put detail into the streets.

Oh wow! I just spied this thread and I am so happy you are at work on another world. Up until two months ago when I started helping with builds for Al Medina, I was playing your lovely world, GlenDonnach, and Conorsim's world, Rinn Fada, exclusively. This is going to be a lot of fun watching your progress, Doublemedion! You are so very talented at this. Beautiful job so far!I know Cladbridge-on-Stowe is going to be gorgeous.

This looks amazing! I'm so bookmarking this topic to keep an eye on it! I hope there will be lots of room for a couple of big 64x64 lots for us horse lovers who hoard them XD

DoubleMedion - You've got mail. :D I hope it's something you can put to good use.

If you would like to use it and if it works for you, feel free to use the GlenDonnach Botanical Society Community Garden I built for you. I can provide you with a version that has no other content than what you are using or you can simply edit the lot. Don't feel obligated, however.

GlenDonnach Botanical Society Community Garden - built for 18 Dalgowrie Road in GlenDonnach.

There are more details and two more images on the upload if you want to check it out. It's 20 x 15, a standard EA size.

Thanks Reachsims I think I will use your market garden since I need one (although I may need to adapt it to make it look more English than scottish).

I've been working alot on the left hand side of the river and have now largely finished it. Some pics:

There's still plenty of details such as trees, shrubs and fence to be placed but that's at least the essential elements created. And yes I intend to make a 60x60 lot somewhere for the horse-lovers

Hi. I think you've done a great job of the rolling hills and fields. I wanted to do something similar to this myself but couldn't figure it out

    Thanks guys :D

SO I've moved outwards behind the town and on to the countryside. So far I've built a fancy manor estate. I'm also building a golf course and possibly a small air strip to double as the military base. I've gotta say that making empty fields is so much faster than forests. I'm going at a tremendous speed!!

But I do want the water wheel :D if it's in package form I don't mind downloading it apart from the world file. I love GlenDonnach to no end and I am lurking this thread with great excitement! I love what I am seeing so far.

Question: the lots have standard sizes or weird sizes? I ask this to know if I'll be able to place my own lots if needed. The Renaissance fair can look awesome in your world (and in GlenDonnach there's no space omg).

There are so far about half a dozen lots which are planned to be empty. All but one are in the 20s regions. That said, there is decent space against the roads to place your own lots (although they won't be perfectly flat like the others).

What size is the rennaissance fair? I'll see if I could fit it in somewhere...

The Renaissance fair is a 40x40 lot :)

Progress continues at a pace. I've done 2/3 of the village side of the river. Then its on to detailing and a whole load of lot furnishing

I've placed quite a few empty lots at standerd sizes so as to accommodate those who own the 4 or so expansions which I don't have. In particular, I've made a 64x64 lot for the horse ranch and a 45x45 lot for those who want to place the rennaissance fair.

On that note, I thank AznSensei and Blythelyre for their extremely generous gift of the rennaissance fair. How nice of people to give such generous gifts when I'm doing what I enjoy!!

    Anyways, some pics:

 I think the Renaissance Fair looks even better on that lot than it does in Dragon Valley. LOL. Congrats on receiving such a wonderful gift, DoubleMedion. The update is very exciting. Beautiful work, as always.

I'm with Michelle. I used to have Hekate's water wheel in my game but at some point I removed a lot of non-EA custom content. Question for you: I understand you don't want to use 3rd party content in your world, so the world will not be uploaded WITH the water wheel but which water wheel are you using, Hekate999's version with a fog emitter or The Merrye Makers' automated version or another one?
