"The Estate"

The Story:

The South Coast "Estate" originally was built to house the growing population along the English coastline, some hills were dug out and a small but functional city was built, along with their own private purpose built coast line. At the time no expense was spared...until 1985 when most of the historical elements were demolished and huge housing estates replaced them to house yet more growing families.

Today we see a varied and multicultural city, the city has tried to keep some historical features but with the growing "bigger" cities around them its hard.....or is it?

The hot summer of 1985 brought many tourists, but since then the city has been left to decay, crime is high and wages are low....how can any sim survive?

A few "older" residents are left behind, facing thug gangs, nightly crime spree's and immorality. The coast still brings tourists for a very cheap holiday, but how long will this last?

Welcome to the "Estate"!

I really love it. :D I think it captures that British/English feel perfectly and I'd love to see more. Perhaps you could add a few fake bus stops just to make things extra-authentic.

I'd suggest tinting your sidewalks grey rather than that creamy colour you have now :)
Other than that, it's great! Reminds me of parts of Newcastle and Sunderland.

I am not from Great Britain, but I love the builds so far. What is the terrain going to be like? Will you use Distant Terrain?

    p.s. love the dumpster dive!

    Great job!

It looks like a council estate to me, I hope that's the sort of thing you were intending? Especially the flats. It definitely looks British to me, I can recognise it as such. Perhaps not the most idealised version of the UK, but a true representation of a certain style none-the-less.

    I think you've done a good job.

It looks awesome! You got the buildings so right (and the multiple recycle bins made me lol!).
The 🐸🐸🐸🐸 isn't chavy enough haha. She needs tracksuit bottoms!
I really like this world. Not sure I'd play it though, since I'd rather escape reality and play something that is far far away from my own life... But this is really cool.
The school doesn't look particularly English though, it's a big fancy school on a council estate? But I know the RH are never what you need them to be when making any worlds.
Look forward to seeing some more of this world ^_^

I think it's great! Has a real 80's estate feel to it. I think you definitely need a fish and chip shop there outside a 🐸🐸🐸🐸 night club

    Great idea. :D

I agree that your 🐸🐸🐸🐸 isn't very 🐸🐸🐸🐸 but I love the colour of your flats and houses, they blend in really well with the trees and terrain paint you've used. The recycle bins are an inspired idea too, they definitely help things to feel English.

The estate is perfect. :) I love the colours and just the way it looks so British. The train tunnels are a clever idea too, what did you use for them?

Wonderful work, Fembod! I have never been to any part of Europe *cry* but this looks like what I see when I travel all over the UK via Google satellite. So, in a certain kind of way I have been there and this looks brilliantly similar. Love the housing developments and everything. Wonderful work!

    Thank you guys!

I was wondering if anyone had some UK style builds? I'd like the builds to really represent UK buildings- like shops, post offices, police stations etc.

If anyone has some, please link them in your post and I will add them ;)

    Thanks

Good work fembod it looks very good, hope you have better luck this time I really liked Southport and I think it was a real tragedy all that work lost. For the builds may be you could ask Jamie6737, he made the London world and all his works were first class ones, I don´t know if any of them went to the exchange or may be mediafire but if you tell him, he will show you where to pick them.

Wow! This is brilliant! It was only last night I thought to myself, 'I've never seen a world that looks like the UK'.

Here in the UK our houses have around a meter between them unlike in Sunset Valley which has around a mile! I think you've done an amazing job on this.
