Red X's Problem solved Thanks so much

Hi all,

Any one besides me having a problem with the game launcher since installing the new up date 1.50 and University EP?

Here are some of my problems with the game launcher

1. Stops responding and have to ctrl alt delete out.
2. No connection Unable to connect to Origin, I do have internet connection but I am not signed into Origin.
3. Red X's appearing in download page of launcher behind the download items and in the scroll page bar box
4. Red X's behind the items in the installed content page,
plus the scroll bar box as well.

5.When scrolling through both pages red X's start to fill in the tic boxes to the left.

I have all the updates patches for both the Sims 3 games all eps and sps. Plus I have all the updates for Origin. Anyone else have this I am at a loss here with the game launcher.
I have no problem with the game page it self and I can play the games with no problem.

Thank you for your help in advance.
Your sim 3 friend,
Winterloc

    Try:

-Logging in and out of Origin
    -Reinstalling Origin

    Hi Dawn L,

Thank you for your help. I did as you suggested. Still the same red X's coming along as I started to scroll down the download page of the launcher. The Welcome page is ok. The update page is ok. What has just happened now as I was looking at the page is that it has now started to stop working.
I wonder if I should uninstall Uni and re install it.

I have never unistalled a sims 3 game before never had too. This is a download game from Origin.

Any one else have any other ideas as how to correct this before I unistall uni. If you do please let me know.
Thank you again Dawn L Brown.

    Thanks in advance,

    Hi Winterloc,

Thank you. I am happy to help. In this case, I don't think reinstalling University is going to help. I think you need to reinstall the base game. I am giving you step-by-step instructions below.

Move the The Sims 3 folder from (My) Documents\Electronic Arts\ to the Desktop.

Uninstall the Base Game - Control Panel - Add or Remove Programs - Might be a little different depending on your OS.

    Install the Base Game

    Patch the game

Run the game to make sure it works

    Exit game

Delete The Sims 3 folder in (My) Documents\Electronic Arts\

Move The Sims Folder from your desktop to (My) Documents\Electronic Arts\

    Hi Dawn L,

My base game is a dvd. I can try this out and see what happens. I was thinking Uni because it was the last game I installed, However I also installed one of the past latest venues. When I installed uni.

As for this 1.50 patch I understand now that the patches are going to the base game. As when I looked at my base game Icon on the game Launcher it showed the game patch number there. My version of my game is 18.0.126.021017 is this the proper version for the new patch and Uni?

150.5601001 This is the version I have of the patch.

I will give it a try now and see what happens. Thanks again

    Winterloc,

That 1.50 is the correct patch level and the one you need for University. It's the one you reinstall after you reinstall the base game. So you are fine with your updates and versions.

I was having issues with the launcher and reinstalled the base game and all EPs and SPs. It seems to be fixed now. When I was uninstalling exert thing I noticed the icon for one of my SPs didn't look right in the list I saw in the windows uninstaller. It made me wonder if that had become corrupted.

    Hi Dawn L,
Thank you so very much for the help and it did work. No more Red X's. I also deleted this launcher logger and replaced it with the one that came with the reinstall from the base game.

This is what the launcher logger said.

Karritz thank you for your imput. None of my game icons look irregular. I was thinking something irregular with the icon for Uni. when I would click on it from my desk top or my all programs it would work then the x's would come when scrolling through downloads or installed content.

Dawn L, Thank you again for all your help. Heres hoping all will continue to work as it is now. You have a great day and if I can I will pay it forward.

    Problem solved :D

    CaCove43,
I too when first had this red X's problem closed out my game, closed down my Comp and then went back in to the game and there they were as big and red as could be. I had all this after I downloaded U.L. and the 1.50. I also bought from the store and installed it one after the other so that could have been my problem.

Anyway I am off to give my game a go now. I have two simmies in college and need to see how they are doing.

Dawn thank you again. Happy Simming
