    Patch 1.50 - Superpatch now offered through the launcher - Retry

    Official EA note on the issue

    Note on Feb 19 Game Update

    We understand that some of you have attempted to install the recent Game Update and encountered an issue completing the install.

    For PC players, if you reattempt the install now, you should be able to successfully complete installation. Note that this Game Update is larger in size and that we will be releasing a smaller version within the coming weeks if you prefer to wait for a smaller download.

    For Mac players, we are still conducting some final tests on the Mac Game Update to ensure it will be a smooth and successful experience for you as well. This release will be coming very soon.

    UPDATE 02/20/2013

    Seems that EA has now replaced the laucher incremental patch with the superpatch so that everyone should be able to patch. It might take a moment for every server to be updated. If you're still offered the 200 MB one, there's no need to redownload.

    It might not work for all atm but try re-downloading through the launcher. Be aware that you will be downloading the 1.3 GB patch and not the 200 MB one (unless EA now did find a solution for their incremental patch messup which was acutally a problem in 1.48).

    Most people are getting an invalid file error with this patch.

    Also make sure to update Origin to it's newest version and restart both the launcher and Origin.

    EA is aware of the issue and looking into it.

      Right now I am downloading the superpatch just to see if it works.

      I wasn't able to patch, like most people.
      I own every EP and only one stuff pack (the Outdoor Living one)
      I was at 1.48 before trying to patch.

      1) No - I got the 'Invalid File Found'
      2) I own all EPs and SPs except Katy Perry.
      3) My version was 1.48
      4) UK, whatever that is
      5) Digital download versions

      No mods or cc.

      Ok, I posted this in your bug thread, but this will be much easier to find. I am super patching btw, but figure maybe my info can help find the problem, regardless. :)

      I have all the EPs installed, all the sps except HEL, FL, and Diesel. I have about ten store sets and one world installed.

      Totally CC free and no mods.

      Patched up to 1.48

      I can download the whole patch, but whenever it gets to 6% installed it says invalid error. Everytime it was at 6% when it quit.

      Was not able to patch. I have all the Eps listed in the patch. I was on update 1.48. I have no mods or cc

      Note: Patch did not start for me then give me invalid file error. It didn't start at all and said file not found

      - What is your Region (last two digits of the base game version number). Country will also do and if you have DVD or digital download

      01, DVD for most, download for Seasons and Diesel (I had no choice on the downloads)

      Also, the problem has potentially already been found; the file is "GameData\Shared\DeltaPackages\p17\code_version.txt"

      I was able to patch just fine. No problems on this end. I removed all my mods. I haven't had time to run the game yet, though. I don't have katy Perry, Supernatural, or Master Suite stuff pack installed. I only have up to Seasons.

      Edited to Add: I managed to get in a bit of gameplay. So far, no problems. And I was patched up to 1.48 as well.

      im missing some of the earlier stuff packs. but all my eps were updated.

      I still get invalid missing file

      Code Version ? A very likely suspect but why did mine patch then. Hm.

      This patch is actually ridiculous, Ive tried so many times now :(
      My game is patched to 48.005 and it is at the latest version, i have all of the eps but no sps soo..
      I only have some content but even without them in the file it still fails to update, are EA working on this? I read on a forum that it was actually a typo within the patch and that they spelt the file wrong.. i hope this is true as i really want to get this patch! :roll: :)

      Hello

      I got the same error and did EVERYTHING to change it, but nothing worked.

      I have Ambitions, Pets, Late Night, Showtime, and Generations as EPs, and I have High End Loft Stuff as a SP

      I have patch 1.48

      I also have some CC, but I took them out to update the patch, and that didn't work.

      I have all Eps and SPs, except for KPST. I was already patched to 1.48. I removed all mods and had no third party CC. After getting the invalid file message several times I removed the Sims3 folder to have a completely clean game.

      After generating the new folder I tried the patch again. I still got the invalid file message. I then downloaded the superpatch. It installed and I'm assuming it worked. I haven't opened my game yet but I now have the UL icon on my launcher and it says my game is up to date.

      Hi. I just patched. Everything went through without a hitch. I don't know if they fixed it or if I got lucky.

      Were you able to patch: yes

      What expansions/stuff packs: all expansions, all stuff packs except 70s, 80s, 90s & Diesel

      What prior patch level: 1.48

      SimGuruSarah just tweeted to restart Origin and the Launcher and try again.

      Not sure if they fixed but let me know if it works now.

      Superpatch is still an option. Be aware that the servers are going to be very busy today as well.

      @PinkyPop60: Do you have the Uni icon showing in your launcher and does the pop-up say Store Update or Game Update ?
