HELP! Base game download stops at file 206 out of 237.

Hello! I am having trouble with my base game. My boyfriend wanted me to install TS3 onto his Macbook Pro, but the download got stuck on file 206 out of 237. We tried seeing if our friends laptops would download it, but it wouldn't download. We also tried to download it from Origin onto one of my PC friend's Acer laptop. Once again, it did not work. I thought that the game wouldn't download because there ARE scratches present. I almost bought the Digital Innovations 4090300 Skip Dr. CD/DVD Repair Accessory Kit from Amazon, but we decided to try to download TS3 from Origin onto my PC friend's laptop. Which didn't work. What would the problem be? On the other Macbooks, they also stopped on file 206.
