The zombies got my maid!

I just got SN last night and I turned off all the creatures for Sunset Valley but some still turned up. I had a vampire at my party and then when I got a full moon, 4 zombies showed up on my lot. I quickly locked all the doors (I read that keeps them out) and forgot the maid was outside. She couldn't get back in my house and the zombies surrounded her until one finally bit her. I am kind of sad because I was going to have the husband cheat with her and maybe be his second wife.
