Welcome to my showcase thread. Since my studio has been growing, I figured it was about time to share my creations in this forum and make one of my own threads. Hope you like!

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME:

My family tells me I have an addiction to Sims, and they are right! Anyways, I have been creating lots in Sims 2 and Sims 3 for many years, however, I had only built things for myself and never shared or uploaded any of my builds to the Exchange....until May of 2012. Although I had registered all my games with EA, I never really paid much attention to the Sims 3 website. Then my cousin "Wensimmie" encouraged me to check out the website (primarily the Gift Gathering forum), so I created a profile and started lurking in GG and began to enter building competitions. I am now hooked!! I used to use a lot of custom content in my earlier builds, and as hard as it was for me to give it up, all of my creations are now CC free. Note: As you may notice from the pictures, I think I've learned a lot and have come a long way since I first started building.

Update: September, 2015: I am happy to announce that I have been chosen to be a member of the D.N.A. (Designing Nature and Architecture) Request Team. I am very honored and am excited for this new challenge to create for others.

THE HEARTHSTONE, 40x40 residential lot, 5/15/12

    Download link

This home is from the first contest I entered and the challenge was to build a one-story home (can’t remember what the other criteria was). It’s a 3 BR/2BA log home accented in stone, with a 2 car garage, guest house and a large backyard for entertaining.

This home was entered in a contest by Skymyst and the challenge was to build a Craftsman Style home. This family home has 4 BD+4-1/2 BA, and features an office, game room, media room, mudroom, laundry room and a basement gym below the garage that includes a spa tub and separate bath. The master suite has his and her baths and walk-in closets. The backyard has lush landscaping with a fountain pool, built-in BBQ, a tree house, play area and a fire pit with built-in seating.

ASIAN NATURE – OUTDOOR LIVING, 36x47 residential lot, 6/16/12

    Download link

Created for the "Non-House" outdoor home building contest by godshelpio, the challenge was to build an outdoor home with no enclosed rooms for her female sim. So I designed a “ramada-style” Asian inspired outdoor home, surrounded by water, trees and plants. The home is comprised of several "ramadas" built with partial walls and railings out of wood, rock and stone.

LITTLE BIT OF COUNTRY, 20x30 residential lot, 6/28/12

    Download link

The theme of this build contest by bandcampsquirrel, was to build a home with a nectary with a budget of only $50,000. This was a very big challenge for me since I am not used to having any building limits. This home has 2 stories with a master BR with ensuite bath, a spare bedroom, a guest bath, fireplace and a wine cellar in the basement. In the backyard you'll find a small garden of grapes, a few fruit trees, and a patio overlooking the small pond. The home's decor is country and has the warmth of woods and is decorated in pastel shades throughout.

This tiny 1 BR/1BA bungalow is priced at just $16,141 and was entered in the “Build me a Super Starter Home” by whatsociallife. It’s the perfect home for a single sim or a couple just starting out and is decorated in shades of greys and reds with touches of blues.

PINK FLAMINGO MOTEL, 40x40 community lot, 7/4/12

    Download link

This motel was created for silvergreenmoon’s contest and she wanted a motel where the rooms were accessed on the outside. This is the only contest (so far) that I’ve placed in. I took 2nd place and I was thrilled! My motel has a tropical theme with 12 rooms (six w/1 bed and six w/2 beds). Each room has a ceiling fan, tv, coffee and beverage makers and an extra vanity area. The grounds are beautifully landscaped with tropical plants and fountains and features a gigantic aquarium in the lobby. Amenities include a free continental breakfast, a guest computer in the lobby, a game room, a laundry room, a spacious pool and hot tub and a small children's play area with picnic tables.

OASIS SALON AND DAY SPA, 30x20 community lot, 7/20/12

This build was created for Calmorezoo’s community lot competition. In addition to a complete hair salon (main floor), the day spa also offers multiple revitalizing services: massages, body wraps, facials, aromatherapy (2nd floor) and a hydrotherapy pool and hot tub, steam rooms, a yoga room and a juice bar (basement floor). The Oasis was decorated with luxury in mind with rich marbles and luxurious furnishings.

FIFTY SHADES OF GREY, 10x10 residential lot, 9/1/12

    Download link

This tiny modern bachelor pad was entered in Stikystuff’s “10x10 Lot” contest. The challenge was to build on a 10x10 lot with either a modern, beach, punk rock or gothic/medieval style. I chose the modern theme and decorated it in shades of grey. (Can you tell what books I’m currently reading?? Haha!) The 1st floor has an open living/dining/kitchen area and the 2nd floor has the one bedroom with walk-in closet and bathroom, and access to an outdoor patio. The laundry area is in the basement, along with a treadmill, computer desk, a bar, video games and lots of seating for you and your friends to watch movies.

    Download link

This is my 2nd entry in Stikystuff’s “10x10 Lot” contest and this time I created a punk rock home. It’s perfect for your rocker sim and was designed with a psychedelic color scheme reminiscent of the 70's rock era. LR, eat-in kitchen, office/workout area, laundry room, carport, loft style master suite with balcony, rooftop deck with hottub and a basement to entertain your band members, complete with a jukebox, musical instruments, lounge area and bar.

Thanks so much Bry, I appreciate that. I only recently ventured into the Creative Corner forum and saw that people had their own threads of their builds, so thought why not. Unfortunately I am not currently working on anything, but I am itching to get back to it. I've had other priority stuff going on in RL, but I am having building withdrawals, lol!!! But when I do, I'll be sure to post a sneak preview. Have a good one!

Aww, thanks so much walkingstick. I had a lot of fun creating the mexican beach house customizing all the tilework. And I figured if I was going to make one of these threads that I better do it now before the task became too daunting. I noticed that wibblelikejelly just created a thread listing everyone's showcases, so maybe I'll fill out the form for that soon. And thanks for the rec's, I really appreciate it. Have a great day!

LITTLE LAVENDER LOVELY, 10x10 residential lot, 10/14/2012

    Download link

This Victorian was built for a building contest, and the challenge was to build on a 10x10 lot in any building style, but we could not use any store content and could only use a limited # of EP's/SP's. It was tough, let me tell you, as I tend to build better when I have no limitations. Anyways, this home only has 1 bedroom and 1 bath, but is quite functional and has a reading area, a computer nook, a balcony off the bedroom and a bbq and sitting area in the back. This house is most suitable for a single female sim, as it's decorated in various shades of purples and lavenders and is quite a bit on the feminine side. Don't know if this transfers, but all of the appliances and plumbing have been upgraded.

Your Little Lavendar Lovely build is so very pretty! :) It really is lovely, and you have put so much prettiness and loveliness in such a small lot size. I do like all the shades of purple and lavendar that you have used , and you have used these colours throughout the build really well. I also like the entrance to the houuse.A femaile Sim would really delight in living in your home. :)

Rose, you are so sweet to say and I'm glad you like the purple shades. I thought maybe I overdid it a little with the colors, but once I was committed to making everything those colors, I had to stick with it. I really appreciate your nice comments, thank you.
