This cozy beachside home was created for a starter house contest. You could build in any style but you had to stay under $20K and you could not use any CC or store items.

For $18,925, you will get an eat-in kitchen, living room, and 1 bath on the main level and a spacious loft bedroom with an outdoor balcony upstairs. This home has large picture windows with views from every room and has an indigo blue and white color scheme inside and out. There's a pond adjacent to the house and a picnic table and bbq out back. Perfect for a single sim or a couple just starting out.

Just plum is really nice :) I like the colour scheme, and that you have used it for the exterior as well as inside. I like how you have done the pond. The inside is furnished really nicely, and it looks like a relaxing calm house to live in. Very great :)

Thank you Taryn! It was a struggle to keep the price down...which is always my issue when it comes to budgets! LOL

Thank you Rose. Originally I was just planning on using it for the exterior, but then decided on continuing with that color scheme throughout. It sure was tricky getting the colors just right and matching them up. Thanks again! :)

THE WEDDING SPOT, 40x40 community lot, 1/28/13

    Download

This wedding venue was created for Pepper090889's "neon vs pastel" wedding lot contest where you had to decorate in neon or pastel colors or use a combination of both. I chose both and the color pink, so be prepared for pink overload!!

(Note: I have to say that this was a really fun community lot to make because I happen to have wedding stuff on my mind lately. My son is getting married in March and their colors are pink and silver, so I had to do pink of course!!)

Description: For an unforgettable wedding, we are simply the perfect place for your perfect day. You have choices here at The Wedding Spot. We can host your wedding either outside in the gorgeous gardens or inside in our beautiful chapel.

Outdoor weddings: Tie the knot under our beautiful floral gazebo with a nature setting and trickling sounds of a nearby water fountain. You will have use of a pianist for your ceremony music and afterwards party away on our patio, complete with a dance floor, DJ and a bar.

Indoor weddings: For a more elegant ceremony, exchange nuptials in our wedding chapel, complete with flowers, candlelight and piano music. After the ceremony, you can celebrate in our large Reception Hall which comes with a full bar, expansive dance floor, a piano and a DJ.

Whichever venue you choose, it will be the perfect “spot” for your wedding day. You will have full use of our separate bride and groom “getting ready” rooms, each with restroom facilities. For chapel weddings the bride and groom rooms are located on the upper level of the chapel. For outdoor weddings, the bride and groom rooms are located next to the Reception Hall.

Thanks much Yanti! Yeah, I would not have normally added the hot pink but since the challenge was to incorporate neon colors, had to go with it, lol. It's too bad that the Romanza wedding store set doesn't have other color options for the flowers though.

WILLOW WAYSIDE, 50x25 residential lot, 2/18/13

    Download link

    SLIDESHOW

This is the entry I submitted to Seascape's House Hunters New Orleans building competition where we had to create a 2nd home for an artistic couple and it had to be in a specific building style of New Orleans (Garden District, Warehouse District, etc.) You could also enter the couple (Eric and Pamela), but I only entered the building portion.

Description: Eric and Pamela purchased a small mansion in the heart of the Garden District of New Orleans for their 2nd home. They felt that this home was perfect for them because it already had suitable spaces for Pamela’s art studio and an office and darkroom for Eric’s photography work.

Willow Wayside, named for it’s three willow trees on the property, is an historic house built circa 1883 and has been completely restored with all the modern conveniences, but still has some of the historic charm they love. Amenities include beautiful millwork and dark wood flooring throughout, graceful wrap-around porches, gated parking area for 2 cars, a grand foyer, gourmet kitchen with breakfast bar, large laundry room, a sun porch, an office with a darkroom, powder room, guest bedroom and bath, separate living room and a formal dining room. On the 2nd floor landing is a sitting area with a pool table and a gallery art wall for Pamela to display her paintings. Also upstairs is a den with a library and a private bath, another bedroom that’s being used as an exercise room with private bath, and the master suite and bath. The master bedroom and the gallery room area both have patio doors leading out to the wraparound porch. On the 3rd floor is a quiet art studio for Pamela with plenty of natural light. Outdoors, there are lots of entertainment options. A full outdoor kitchen with bar is located on the back porch, and the backyard is fully landscaped with lots of greenery and has a beautiful pool and hot tub.

MARK'S DREAM HOME, (remodel of Mosquito Cove in Sunset Valley), 3/23/13

    DOWNLOAD

This house was entered in Seascape's "HGTV Love It or List It" competition. We could either make over the existing lot in Sunset Valley, Mosquito Cove, or come up with a completely new build for Mark the avid outdoorsman. I chose to remodel the lot.

Much to my surprise, I placed 3rd in the makeover category!!!

    XwUqdz6.jpg

MOSQUITO COVE, before I renovated it:
    o455vS7l.jpg

    Mark Loves It (Designer Role)

Lot Name: Mark’s Dream Home (the renovated Mosquito Cove)

Description: Mark was torn between putting his house on the market or fixing it up. He loves the property that his current home sits on and would prefer not to sell, but the house is in need of major updating and sprucing up. He hired Designer Hilary and Real Estate Agent David to help him decide. After giving Hilary his wish list, he was not very optimistic that she would be able to give him everything he wanted and still stay within his budget. And he wasn’t all that impressed with the homes that David showed him—they just didn’t have the outdoor appeal he was looking for. But now that Hilary’s finished with the home, she’s totally wowed Mark with all of her renovations and he LOVES IT, so he is definitely stayin’!!

Hilary’s renovation journey: Starting with the outside of the home, she spruced up the exterior walls with new siding, a new roof and extended the deck space so Mark now has room for a barbecue and outdoor furniture. She wanted to keep the home rustic looking to go with the property’s natural setting so she chose masculine woods and stone. She enlisted the help of a landscaper and redid the path leading up to the home by fencing off a wooden deck walkway between the ponds and put in stone walking paths. She also cleared space for a gravel driveway leading to a covered parking space on the side and then built a shed where he can store his tools and all of his sports equipment. Since Mark is an avid fisherman and loves the outdoors, the ponds are now well stocked with fish and he has a place to practice his basketball shots and throw some horseshoes with his friends. And Hilary was even lucky enough to find a spot in the back to add in a garden.

Inside she added more space and put in a whole new kitchen, installed a sliding door and added on a laundry room off the porch. She replaced the old staircase with space saving spiral stairs, and put in a much desired fireplace. She extended the footprint of the upstairs to add more square footage to be able to include an extra bedroom, bathroom and game room area. Now Mark has a separate room for his computer, a place for his treadmill and a fun place to hang out with his buddies. And he has more privacy now that his friends have a separate place to sleep over. His collection of sports memorabilia is now displayed nicely upstairs in Mark’s hangout area. Hilary even managed to leave enough of the budget to redecorate the whole house with a rustic outdoorsy and masculine feel.

Mark really loves his new renovated home and can't wait to invite his buddies over to hang out and do some fishing.

    Budget/Price of House: $75,794

SUNNYSIDE UP BEACH HOME, 10X10 residential lot, 3/30/13

    Download link

    PICTURES

This was created for NiniBeMe69's "Micro Mini 10x10 lot" competition. Requirements were to build any style home as long as it wasn't over 3 stories and over $70K. There were so amazing homes in this competition and over 70 entries submitted!

I decided on a beach style lot....

Description-- On this tiny lot stands a compact 3-story cozy beach home decorated in a tropical theme of navy blues and sunny yellows throughout. A flagstone walkway, surrounded by lush tropical plants, leads you through the 2-story tall front entrance. The home has a staircase at the entryway and on the left is an open concept floor plan of a kitchen, dining area and living room. The 2nd level features a sitting area with a computer and a treadmill, a guest bath and a separate laundry room. Up the next set of stairs, you’ll find a private master bedroom and ensuite bath with it’s own private terrace. Perfect for watching those beautiful sunsets.

All three of these builds are so well designed, built, furnished and landscaped. :) Willow Wayside looks oo beautiful inside, exterior and outside, a very lovely elegant home. Your renovated Mosquito Cove build is done so very well to cater to Mark and his interests/lifestyle, and would be a home that Mark would be so delighted to enjoy living in, so very much improved on the way it used to be! Your sunnyside up home has such a great colour scheme with nice use of patterns, and is a very sunny nice beach home to enjoy living in!
    Great builds!
