    Has anyone mentioned having short freezes while in-game?

    I've been going in game, logging in, turning on my in-game notifications and then start playing. Game runs fine and then out-of-the blue my game will freeze, no time moving on the clock but I can hear game sound. This will stay like this for a few seconds, etc... depending and then suddenly everything starts to move again and game runs fine. No crashes, etc...

    I'm cc free, my drivers are up-to-date and I didn't have this issue prior to ST and maybe prior to the last patch, 1.32.

    The intermittent freezing is a result of patching to 1.32 (which they pulled, per message subject).

    Bump - any news on an ETA for a fix to all the intermittent freezing?

    Thank you for that info as I hadn't seen it. I knew the patch was pulled but I thought that was for other reasons.

    A fix would be nice.

    The 1.32 patch shows up on my launcher. Just to be clear, this patch is bad?

    From what I understand, only people that are at patch level 1.32 can login and use the online features. Otherwise, they are blocked if they are still at patch 1.31 because patch 1.32 is what keeps the CC from passing via simport. So I know of no one that can login to simport or use the online features at patch level 1.31.

    I have no idea when a new patch will be available. I have the same information as all of you which is they are working on it. I know you all are anxiously awaiting to play the games you've all paid for. And although I do not have this EP and don't plan on getting it anytime soon, I do feel for you all and will try to help you as best I can.

    As for the freezing and lag, I am hearing there is way more lag/freezing issues with this particular patch. However, I do believe this may have started with patch 1.31 as that is the patch that turned on the online features. In my opinion, the more stuff you turn on (i.e. memories, my sim did this or that), will bog down the game, use more CPU, and make your rigs work much harder. I can only suggest turning off a lot unnecessary stuff like the in-game store, keeping your computers maintenanced regularly, turn off background programs... the usual stuff.

    My base game is version 1.32. Will I have to uninstall/reinstall the base game and all the ep/sps when the proper patch comes out?

    Just wanted to report back that reverting to 1.31 worked and my game is playable again - intermittent Sims freezing is gone!!!

    I uninstalled the base Sims 3 game, then reinstalled it, patched it to 1.31, and DID NOT patch it to 1.32.

    I also spoke to an EA representative via the Origins help desk and he said EA is aware of all the problems with patch 1.32 and is working on a fix, but not ETA as there are a lot of problems.

    Note that if you patched your mods to 1.32, but uninstall your base game, reinstall and update only through 1.31, that you'll either have to disable your mods for now or revert to an earlier mod that supports 1.31.

    Well that depends on how you patched? Do you have extra EP7 stuff in your game?

    How do I update to the new patch? I can't find it! All i see is the forum about it but not where to install it. And my Sims 3 Launcher says I'm up to date on updates but that I'm using version 12.0. I just cant find it lol

    Can I add that I do have memories disabled and I also have the store content stuff blocked, including from downloading any files in the "featureditems" folder. But I still have that sporadic lag. It's just annoying that you can be playing then suddenly everything freezes then a few seconds later unfreezes.

    Maybe I should have stuck to my guns and avoided this EP because I feel like I'm running around trying to fix and deal with all the little annoying things (like no singer sounds) that I haven't enjoyed myself yet. And the EP has potential to be fun, if they would have ironed this all out prior.

    Oh and I should add that I think I unbeknownst to me I deleted my data that showed which stamps I had earned yesterday, so down the drain went what things I did manage to accomplish between all the bugs. Murphy's Law seems to apply to all things Sim related.

    I use Sims 3 and Ambitions through Steam and I was informed that I had an update. I updated my game and now my Sims receive opportunities, but they are never completed. For example, they will go talk to someone, but the game does not register that they talked with that person. Also, I cannot delete certain items. I receive an error saying that the item is in use when it is not.

    Does anyone else have these issues and is there any way I can fix them?

    In one of my Private Venues my sim was performing, it was going fine, but then I could not end the show. I reset her, and it worked for her. However the show is still going on, and it wont reset.

    So what I'm guessing is that there is no new patch update yet? That its still the older patch that came out & kept messing up the game. They haven't fixed that patch yet? Just want to make it clear, thanks!

    Same answer I gave before. Are you really at 1.32 check the version on the launcher vs the skuversion.txt in the basegame folder. Go into your game and see what you have in CAS, that would probably be the easiest. You should be able to play the game via the executable file if you can't via the launcher.
    Launcher says 10.0 while the skuversion says 1.32. (and some numbers more but I am assuming you only wanted the first 3)
    So I am guessing my game is 1.32. And I have no problems in my game at the moment. Do I just leave it or?

    Since Gen was released, it is the base game that gets patched. So what I meant was to hover over the launcher icon for the base game. That is the icon that will tell you where you are patched and it should match the skuversion.txt file in the Game\Bin folder for the base game under Programs.

    The version number on the launcher is the last game you installed. That should match the version number when you hover over that icon, as well as the skuversion.txt file in the Game\Bin folder under Programs. The same is true for every other icon in between. :wink:

    I'm having issues with the game; they seem to relate to what most have been saying in this thread; when I first installed Showtime I ran it, and it played fine (although the loading took it's time, but it's a new EP, and this usually happens for me at first). Then, I decided to play it again just now, and when I clicked on the launcher, suddenly the entire computer lagged; the mouse kept freezing randomly when I moved it. The launcher opened up and allowed me to play; it loaded up fine, but when I got in game, it kept freezing for like 2 seconds, and the curser kept lagging. So I've just quit now; I've tried to start again, but now it's telling me that the launcher isn't responding to Origin, so it's stopped working.

    Any help? LOL!

    The only thing I can do is suggest the same things as I suggested to the others. Not sure what your computer specs are but if this was an issue before then I'm sure it's gotten worse with this new EP. Idk how you feel about using Mods like Twallan's Overwatch to help clean up things (i.e. spawned cars) but it probably couldn't hurt. :wink:
