Possible inventory bug?

My sim magcian can't put any props into his inventory from buy mode. I didn't have any problem doing this until after he returned from his 1st tour. Then I booked him a park gig in the hood after he got back.
I could put all the suff from his inventory on the stage without a problem. But once he did the self levitate trick, I got a popup that said he failed the trick and all of his props are being moved back to the family inventory??? :hunf:
After that wierd message, my sim continue to leviate ok and finished his performance ok. But after completeing the gig, none of the stage props reappeared back in his inventory.
I've tried buying him more, but can't put them in the inventory. Even worse, he can't use any of the special props (box of danger or mystery) from his backpack during the gigs??? 
Is anyone else having this problem?
