So I wonder what triggers the wrong login. Must have something to do with how you use IE.

I hardly ever use IE for anything and I didn't have any troubles (I'm an opera person).

I rarely use IE but checking the history the launcher, my page and the sims store use it by default. It stems back to when Chrome was new and didn't always play nice with the store so I set it up that way. There is one other site I use IE for but that's about it.

I used CCleaner the other day to analyze the files it was going to delete having launched the game immediately after clearing all the cache files. I did nothing else, just ran the launcher and the game and then ran CCleaner again. It had generated a lot of files but I'm not knowledgeable enough to know which is causing the problem although I can start to guess which are the more likely candidates... possibly.

I think it's a problem that should be fairly easy to recreate by EA, just hope the fix is fairly swift in arriving.

I use Firefox, and last night I cleaned my browser history and was able to log in as me, as I was also this morning. But I noticed that I must get disconnected at some point because it stops updating my profile.

I got mine to show my correct login by logging out through launcher and then logging back in and clearing my cache through dashboard. Once I started my game back up, it finally showed my correct login. I didn't need CCleaner. I also use Firefox.

Could anyone that has the issue go to your user data\downloads.

There's a new folder with a number. I'm curious to know if the people that were able to log in with both their own and the NoXroadsname have to folders and if they have different numbers.

I had installed the patch, played the game and i was logged into the game and it was working. suddenly the game crashed where it hasn't ever. upon reloading I got an update for origin. when i reloaded the game..I now log gin and instead get the noXroadsname ID and it's not acknowledeging my account.

i know glitches will happen as we get ready for showtime. I hope they sort this out so that my achievments will be counted.

Did you try the ccleaner solution and would you check how many folders with numbers you have in your downloads folder ?

That's what I noticed in mine... I have 2 sets of numbers.

On my desktop in my downloads I only have one set of number which is the '77..." one and my desktop functions fine.

So the 77 one should be yours and the 58211.... might be the NoXroadsname one.

Move the 58211 to the desktop for the moment.

(I guess it's safer to not publish the numbers (or just the first few number), you might want to remove those)

Well the CCleaner is what fixed the noroadsxname issue for me, however I'm dealing with crashing after moving a family into the house.

(In which I fixed by adding ALL of the .exe files from each EP folders to the DEP exceptions list).

I'm going to try moving that folder but if I'm not mistaken I tried that before and the folder only came back...

In the downloads folder I have challenge data package files x2, passport data packages x2. I have no files with numbers at all. The only other files in that folder are my email and the nav & msi bin file (other than downloads from the store of course)

My game is mod/hack and CC free (apart from literally a couple of patterns) and always has been.

The folder in which those files are in should have a number, not the files.

Are the files directly in the downlaods folder ?

Yes and have been for as long as I can remember.

Weird. But how can you have two files with the same name in one folder. Are the names for the two challenge data package files and passport data packages slightly different ?

I think that's a problem of the view your using.

Try sorting them by folder instead of date

Something really weird is going on. Yesterday I only had one folder under downloads with the number 58....... and I got the NoXroadsname. I just don't remember where the challenge and passport data was, if I had it at all.

Today I have a second folder with the number 177..... and inside that one is the challenge and the Passport Data. Now I can log in with my own ID. I hope that stays that way when I try to sign in the next time.

Hmm, interesting, so the 58211 folder is there and contains the older files I mentioned. The folder with the newer dates has another number entirely and has been updated today since I logged in correctly as me.

Have to say never use folder view for the Sims as I like to see at a quick glance which recent files I need to back up, and the one I posted works very nicely for that. Explains the same name in the apparent same location though

I would suggest to everyone to remvove the 58211 one.

I also had two different folders, one which was the 58211, which I deleted. I noticed it had a - in from of it though.

I had the problem and I tried logging out of my launcher then back in again. It worked but then couldn't see my save (oddly) but at least it showed my right name!

Mine was doing this and i found that my account had to be logged in on the launcher...after that it automatically logged me in

I got mine working.

History: I downloaded the patch for PC right after it was available. I had to try to log in twice and got in under my name. I never had the NoXroadname problem. I had to uninstall/reinstall because Riverview, LL, HS, and BB were not showing up. After the reinstall all was well except the NoXroadname problem.

At first I removed the -52811 folder to my desktop and started up. That did not work. I went back into my EA folder and it [-52811] had repopulated, only this time the -52811 folder did not hold any passport data. I replaced the new file with the old one.

I ran through CCleaner.It didn't work the first time. I went back in to add more options. The second time around, I checked off all options for Internet Explorer as well as Windows Explorer with the exception of the option for Network Passwords.

It worked. First, I was told my email and password were invalid. That was encouraging as that happened the very first time I logged in after the patch. I tried again and am now able to log on as Dash3001.

Note: the -52811 file is still there. Hopefully I won't have to do this every time.
